The room itself was quiet. I am with other people in the room. There is one who is female and I am a male. Can be awkward but then this is a mixed dormitory. Everyone was courteous and in a different culture context. The people are also very considerate with each other. There were ear plugs offered and they worked just fine. Note that there is some loud noise during the day in the upper floor from some outside shop I think... So if you are that sensitive to noise, you might want to consider somewhere else. There are 4 people in the room including me but all of the beds are spacious and not crampy, and all of them are on the floor. None was a double stacked bed.

The fact that I was not offered some caveat on the noise outside. But the earplugs worked so all in all I am okay. The place is also underground so if this bothers people, again consider somewhere else. This did not bother me. Another thing is the tilet are located very far from the rooms- they are at the other end of the floor. More like an addition or expansion to the entire facility. The kitchen is located very far as well.

fully equiped kitchen, showers with good pressure and infinite hot water, tv/netflix, plenty of chill space, patio, I even liked to be woken up by music playing in the shop above (really cool music, gonna miss that)

very quiet hostel, everyone minding their own business, no social interraction, drinking is prohibited..so if you looking for a place to sleepover and where you can look into your phone all day, this is the perfect place for you

Staying at HIT Hostel was a fantastic experience. The staff and manager were among the most friendly/down to Earth people I've met during my stay in Auckland. All areas are super clean, and the beds are pretty comfortable. They also have this nice lounge where you can just chill out and watch some Netflix for free!I will definitely come back again in the future =D.

Kitchen clean and not very busy. WiFi worked very well. Beds were comfy. We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom and it was all very clean - even had our own cutlery.

Not a massive common room area! There are some tables in the hallway but there is only one sofa and two chairs where the TV is. Some of the people are very loud there.

Clean and comfy! There was also a kitchen and common spaces for ppl to cook and hangout. Facilities was clean, daily the staff clean the toilets and kitchen! They were also very helpful and friendly with information, esp for ppl on working holiday visas. Location was also good with many interconnecting buses in/out of Auckland cbd. Could get a lil noisy on weekend nights as theres alot of clubs/bars around, but it didnt bother me and was v i intertesting! In

Cozy place with lovely staff in good location not far away from sky tower. Kitchen, bedrooms and common areas are quiet comfy.

It get's a bit noisy on the rooms during the afternoons due to the shop next door. Also gets noisy weekends nights due to the location on the pub's road of town.

Good location, walking distance to city centre. We checked in early as confirmed with the hostel on the morning of our stay, really appreciated that. Air con in the room was very welcome, especially as you can’t open any window. Good shower.

Night club type music above at night, bring ear plugs!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Really nice clean kitchen with all the things you could need to prepare a meal. There are fans in the bedrooms if it gets too hot. There’s an outdoor area, wifi is ok. The connectivity was great in my room but not so great in the dining room. Tv had Netflix for free which was great. Really enjoyed my stay and will be staying there again if I’m back in Auckland.

The rooms were super clean and staff were extremely helpful. They have a nice, small outdoor patio to relax in during the day which is nice given the rooms don't have any windows.

three showers and two toilets are for the whole place. They can get a bit dirty over night but as soon as the staff are back in the morning they are cleaned straight away.
