Really liked the self check-in - very easy. Breakfast was great, lots of hot and cold food options. The coffee was great. The hotel provided robes and slippers for going to the hot tub, which was a welcomed surprise. The bathroom was large, great shower, and very clean. There was also a nice size refrig in the room. The hotel also owns a lovely little wine bar down the road and they offered a free appetizer to hotel guests. The food was really good there as well.

The only option for TV was internet options, so you need to have Amazon Prime, Netflix, or some other streaming service to watch TV. But with all the options outside, why stay inside to watch TV? Go to the wine bar!

Comfy beds. Didn't get chance to go in the hot tubs but nice touch. They were not natural ones from the looks of things but lots of people using them so must have been warm. Wish we could have stayed longer tbh. Great powerful and warm shower and great view (although I think I paid extra possibly for that...?) the tomato farm and bistro was lovely, there was a free olive platter as part of the stay which was good. Would also recommend the Mika restaurant although it is pricey (but no more so than rest of Iceland really)

Creamer for coffee but no milk for tea but maybe that's me being British!

Self check-in and check-out was super easy! The main building is modern, new, clean and the "cafeteria" where the breakfast was served is a log house which has a warm cozy vibe. There are 2 hottubs between the rooms and the log house so 2 groups can enjoy them in the same time separately and don't disturb each other. Its temperature is around 42C and it is amazing. Greenhouse is next to the hotel, so worth visiting it (book it advance). Small market and a restaurant is in 2 minutes walk.

Loghouse is not big, so at the morning during breakfast time, if you can get a table only next to the door, it can be disturbing.

Perfect location for exploring the golden circle. The room was nice and clean, and had everything required. We loved the hot tubs, the robes and slippers were a nice extra touch. Discount to enter the secret lagoon was a welcome surprise.

We arrived a little early and tried to check in, however could not find any staff. Even at 3pm (check in time) no staff could be found. We had to call the main line listed online to gain access to our room, as the one on the front desk did not work.

The property looks beautiful, especially with all the snow around. It's a great place to stay if you're planning on doing the Golden Circle on your own and don't want to be in a hurry. We had dinner at the restaurant in front of the hotel, which was both convenient and delicious. The next day, we had lunch at the famous tomato soup place nearby. The self-check-in process was easy and hassle-free, and there was ample parking space available.

I think the breakfast options could be more diverse, but to be fair, the hotel staff was very accommodating by offering vegan cheese and butter as an alternative. I made cheese sandwiches for myself, and they were kind enough to heat them up in the kitchen.

This is the most fabulous hotel for a special trip to the Golden Circle and for a magical stay in the area, which offers a more authentic experience than being an itinerant tourist and returning to the city after a day trip. This is a perfect place for a couple to stay for a few days to explore the Golden Circle with easy access to the key sites nearby. There is also the Secret Lagoon and spa in a nearby town; guests of the hotel have an exclusive discount at the lagoon. We enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of the staff, the quality and quietness of the room, the inclusiveness the hotel clearly had of its staff, and the breakfast was fantastic – excellent range of foods, including plenty of options for gluten free and other dietary preferences, which was unexpected! The hotel building is modern while the breakfast is served in a more rustic log cabin, very much in keeping with the local landscape, and the contrast works well. It's true there isn't much nearby. We didn't get the chance to try the tomato farm's café and we had brought food from the city to make lunch, so didn't use the convenience store in the filling station. This rural remoteness is part of the charm, and visitors to the area should be assumed to be comfortable with it. The nearby attractions have visitor centres with restaurants which offers additional daytime dining options. In the evenings, we did eat twice at Mika, where the portions are large, the food very tasty (one of the best pizzas and mushroom risottos I've had!) and the staff friendly. We did not find any challenges reported in some of the more critical reviews on here. Our experience exceeded our expectations, the room was great value for money, and we would happily return.

Getting out of the hot tubs can be a very chilly experience in the cold winter weather, so you need to get ready to run back to your room! We also didn't see the Northern Lights, but that's not the hotel's fault.

We loved everything, the rooms were modern, clean, quite spacious, beds comfy and it is in very nice quiet area. Next to the hotel are two restaurants which we both enjoyed. It is super close to a lot of places we visited so that was another plus. In the evening we used the hot tub/bath which was outside and very relaxing, plus was that there are two of them so you dont have to share with people. Breakfasts were amazing and staff was really nice and helpful at all times.

One minus is that the hot tub didnt have jets, so its only warm bath, which was still super nice and relaxing, just not as we expected.

Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. I think what makes me think of this place as even more magical and unforgettable than it is anyway is its artwork - it was stunning and utterly heartwarming in its simplicity. Perfect value for money and location. The place was perfectly clean and the bathroom was a stunner with its space, modern decor and heated floors. Our stay there was a seamless and magical experience.

Everything was perfect.

We loved absolutely everything! The location was perfect for a stopover before heading out for a day trip on the golden circle. The restaurant across the hotel was great. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean. Bathroom was awesome. Bed was big and comfy and the hot tubs outside were just amazing to spend time in. Big bonus having the big bathrobes and slippers to go straight from your room to the bathtubs outside. Loved our stay there and we will be back! Cannot recommend it enough!

All was great and nothing was negative

Very comfortable bed, modern looking room, big bathroom. The room came equipped with a full bottle of shampoo as well as a hair conditioner. A smart TV is in the room, as well as a small fridge. The internet speed was good. The breakfast had a large variety of food and the coffee was good. The staff was pleasant. The room also came stocked with two pairs of slippers and two pairs of bathrobes. Tea and coffee were included, along with the kettle. A hairdryer was present in the bathroom. The room was nicely warm. Bonus points for a keypad instead of a keyhole on the door, so no hassle carrying around the keys with you. You can also buy alcohol up until 10 PM. Parking space in front of the hotel is provided.

As with most hotels, the pillows were very mediocre. The toilet seat is absolutely too high, even for me. (186 cm). It was uncomfortable sitting on it, especially for my girlfriend who is 160 cm tall. The shower unit for the size of the bathroom is too small, you are really squished inside. There is really only one restaurant in the vicinity, it's actually right next to the hotel. The food is very good, but the restaurant is very expensive, even by Icelandic standards. They are obviously using this opportunity since there are no other restaurants in the vicinity.
