The room was a great size and the bathroom was large and clean. The whole hotel ambience was very cozy and peaceful. Garden area was also very nice and the staff was the friendliest we'd encountered in Iceland.

They advertised hot tubs in their garden area, but they weren't hot tubs so much as just small, shallow tubs with sitting water in them. Additionally, the "patio area" isn't really a patio, but just an extra entrance to the garden.

Hotel itself is amazing! Great room, hot tubs are a very nice addition. Rooms are really cozy and comfortable and hotel is beautiful. Staff are friendly.

Restaurant food and service is not very good at all. There’s not really anywhere else to eat in town though so not much of a choice. Very overpriced though and little disappointing. We also booked a room because it sceptically said that it had private access to a hot tub. This isn’t accurate. All rooms that face the hot tubs have access to them. They aren’t private and there are only two of them. So there isn’t any need to book a “private access room”. If you book a regular room you just have to walk around to the main entrance to get to the hot tubs and it’s a lot cheaper. Otherwise everything was great!

The room was of a nice size, spacious enough we could bring in a mattress from the other rooms we could fit 2 ad and 2 ch in, warm and powerful shower just what was needed after a long day exploring. Welcoming staff and everything being one floot was brilliant no lugging up stairs, peaceful bar and felt very relaxing. We ate the food was good overall, and the use of outdoor hot tubs was very good. Stick with burgers, lamb shank etc and lager and you will be fine.

Having doors that went out of the toilet to the courtyard was very strange, and no lighting around the hot tubs so when you went out of an evening you needed a head torch to see where you were going not suitable for our elderly group member. Chicken salad came without dressings, garlic bread etc and by time it was rectified rest of us had eaten our meal - the chef did provide pudding but the chicken salad felt very underwhelming compared to the rest of the food.

We chose Fludir as a stop to go to Landmannalaugar. Not much too choose so we did not have too much expectations. Hotel looks nice and cosy. There is a hottub, that was nice. And you can get free bathrobes. The room is fine with a quite large flatscreen in comparison to the size of the apartment. Breakfast buffet included which was fine.

There is a shower with shower curtain. Not a fan. They can do a better job at the breakfast buffet at refilling things. When you go out the backdoor to the hottubs, you look yourself out since the key of the room does not work on the lock. A bit weird. The mattresses were not that great. Some gaps/holes in it.

Good Hotel to stay for a couple of nights , good location , parking at the front , nice restaurant , and a little shop with helpful items , in front of a petrol station and supermarket .the room was clean, bathroom needs an upgrade but it was clean . Breakfast was ok, good enough to start the day

The rooms had no to much light , and the rooms are not noise proof , we could hear through , people coughing, talking . breakfast is good enough , but we had to ask to add more eggs and fruits , also bread at 9:00 am took very long until we could have breakfast , so next morning went early , and it was the same problem , not enough food for everyone .

The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. It was very clean and a good location for us while exploring the Golden Circle area. Very close to Secret Lagoon and enjoyed ending our day there.

There were no blackout curtains and with the sun never really setting it made it hard to sleep without a sleep mask. We were going to have breakfast at the hotel one morning but when we got there it was very minimal and most of the dishes were empty. They promptly gave us a refund. There is not much in the area but we felt better off picking up some food at the grocery store rather than paying for the breakfast they offered ($25 per person).

Recently renovated, nice design, kind staff, lovely hot tub in the inner garden, good quality dinner food.

For us the evening menu was great (amazing cod and burger), but with only choice for two entrees and 4 mains, staying longer or having a narrow taste doesn’t make it ideal. The breakfast was fine: the regular continental choices you find everywhere. But as you could only get the 10 liter old coffee and no fresh brewed coffee or cappuccino and no surprising other stuff, it wasn’t for me.

Stylish and nice hotel, we had quite a big room facing the inner yard. Bed is big, a bit soft but perfect for one night, huge TV, coffee and tea maker. L'occitane liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner. Hot tubs outside are super comfortable, we were lucky to jump right in after our arrival.

Lack of minifridge was a big minus. No small toiletries like toothbrush/paste, cotton pads, sticks etc, body cream would also be a nice addition. Breakfast buffet has many sweet options, but not so much salty, there was even no fish. Considering the whole hotel atmosphere, I'd say breakfast is poor in comparison. Coffee from the espresso machine was terrible. Another unpleasant moment was that our room key was not opening the door from inner yard: we left the room using the connecting door in the shower, but were not able to open it after using the bathtub outside. Our friends helped us to get in through their room, and it was very cold to walk around...

The location is good, the room feels comfortable, the bed is very comfortable, there is a big TV, the indoor temperature is well controlled, it feels comfortable, there is enough space for luggage, and there are large windows to see the outside. It is a pity that I only stayed for one night. I will stay there next time if I have the opportunity Will live.

Basically, there is nothing to dissatisfy with. Some may be that the breakfast price is a bit expensive and there are few restaurants nearby.

The Hill Hotel was a perfect place to start our Iceland holiday with large rooms, comfortable bed, and the 2 hot tubs in the central courtyard to enjoy in the morning and evening. We had a garden view room for our two night stay which was quiet and private. Excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant and accommodating staff. Just ask for robes for use to/from the hot tubs.
