Although there were few free spaces for cars, the car parking just outside the hotel by the main road was cheap and good. The rooms were cosy and comfy. The breakfast was your usual "all you can eat" type buffet but each morning there was enough for us to have to be set until lunch time. Staff were friendly and helpful. The receptionist always had a smile on their face each time we got through the door. They even helped me post a postcard to family! If you have booked tour bus excursions, they usually pick up outside a hostel called "KEX" this was only a 7 minute walk from the hotel which we found ideal too!

Small issue when the wind speeds are high, the window seemed to have a little crack somewhere so made a noise. Didn't disturb us too much to fall asleep as we were so tired after days full of activities.

I and my daughter loved the hotel and its room immediately. It was a lovely large room with great facilities including a king size bed, large bathroom, fridge, kettle, cups and wine glasses. The breakfast was fantastic and both the breakfast/bar staff were polite and attentive; and the reception staff were lovely throughout including helping me book journeys when I'd broken my phone. The views from the Sky bar were amazing of Harpa and the sea and my daughter loved seeing the snow coming down out there on the balcony morning and night. We couldn't have asked for more! Great location too!

Nothing, just keep up the standards as they were amazing!

Convenient Location to walk around & also get to & from Bus Terminal (drop off Point in front of hotel & City Bus stop also Close). Sky Lounge Bar was a nice location (although even better in times of year when it is light enough to see). Spa area was nice for warming up.

Shower in our room was just a moveable door in bathroom. So every time we’d shower, you’d have to remove the water & watch where you walked for an hour or so until completely dry, so socks didn’t get wet. I saw other rooms with a tub so I’m unsure how many rooms like this

Location was excellent, great for exploring Reykjavík. We managed to park in the hotel parking spaces the whole time we were there which was a bonus. Room was fine for what we needed it for, nice and cosy. Underfloor heating made it really warm which was lovely after the temperatures outside! Staff were helpful. The Sky Bar is worth a visit, beautiful, chilled setting. Great views from the bar too.

A lot of noise in the room. Cleaners cupboard was right outside our door and they were so loud throughout the morning/afternoon. Not only banging but talking really loudly. You can hear the people next door to your room really loudly too. The doors/walls aren’t soundproofed at all so you can hear other families’ conversations as they go back to their room. A lot of people come back late into the hotel (1am/2am in the morning) because the Northern Lights tours are on really late, so the corridor can be quite loud around this time. We also had some really windy days, the noise was horrendous in the rooms. This obviously can’t be helped but one to bear in mind. I think it’s due to being so close to the water, but the noise made it really difficult to sleep.

Hotel's location in downtown Reykjavik was perfect for us...easy walking anywhere. The staff and service were excellent. The hotel has a spa with a sauna and hot tub that we greatly enjoyed after a long day of walking. Morning breakfast hit the spot and prepped us for the day.

Aside from the room size, which honestly is just a perspective issue for North American travelers like us...my only dislike was the lack of parking. Only five spots for the entire hotel...which I only managed to get once. It's paid parking everywhere around the hotel and that's often busy too. Be forewarned if you've rented a car that this could be an inconvenience.

Location! Staff! Amazing staff all the way through They could not be more helpful. We couldn’t figure out the parking until superstars Anna helped us. Where to eat? Anna. Everyone. The location is 5 stars as it is right across from Harpa and an excursion bus stop. Half a block from TONS of shopping/nightlife and restaurants. After 6 days we were still finding new shops and restaurants. Very clean! The spa is awesome. Small but romantic. After getting soaked in the rain days on end a hot soak was awesome

Not a huge deal but here are no bureaus or dressers. Made it difficult to store clothes etc

We had a corner room with views across the harbour which was fabulous. The room was large and included an iron and ironing board (I think a first for us in all the places we stayed in Iceland). Having lived out of a suitcase for 3 weeks, it was very useful to iron the clothes we wore home on the plane! The tea and coffee facilities were good quality and the rooftop bar was happy to give us a small jug of milk (so we didn't need to use powdered milk!). Lots of powerpoints for charging our various devices, a large bathroom with plenty of room to unpack our belongings. A very good buffet breakfast with great views. The hotel is also quite close to a range of different restaurant options and we enjoyed wandering around the local streets looking at galleries, shops and walking along the waterfront.

We found the bed too firm and uncomfortable (some like it firm, others soft). Unfortunately they didn't offer soft mattress toppers (unlike another hotel we stayed in elsewhere in Iceland) so our second night was as uncomfortable as our first. Otherwise, there really wasn't anything to dislike about the place.

Everything about this hotel was amazing! Pay the little bit of extra money for the larger bed and you'll get a larger room and bigger bathroom. We had both room types, and put the teens in the smaller room, but if I had to do it again I would get both rooms with the larger bed. They also put in free of charge a smaller bed for the third child, very nice of them! Warm, beautiful view, unlimited hot water, delicious tap water, Netflix/YouTube and wifi built into each room...so welcoming after a hard day at touring! Logistically, it is an excellent departure point for any bus or excursion and even any walk-about, Worth it! Coming back to the hotel after each day-long tour or Aurora or whale-watching boat tour, we found our rooms totally cleaned and organized like it was the first day. This was consistent great service by the maid staff for both our rooms for 7 days! Request the ocean view, and I recommend 4th floor and above for wonderful views, though there are no obstructions on the ocean side of the hotel. I was completely happy and remarked to my wife on several occasions how lucky we were to get such a great hotel!

My entire family of 5 was very happy, but there was a small difference between our two rooms. Our larger room had a big shower, but the smaller room shower would not have been good for a 250 lbs man, but good for teens. Pay for the larger bed and I think you get a larger room/bathroom. You won't regret it as the hotel is amazingly located and very well serviced and the hot water was unlimited, never went cold!
