Staff was cleaning all the time... Room and shared bathroom (including showers) were spotless.

WIFI was wonky, at best. I barely had one bar on THEJANE's WIFI for an entire week. Tough to send/receive texts, phone calls. Remember most rooms are barely 50 sq. ft... like a large closet. No ice or vending. Visited during their remodeling so PLEASE ASK the status of same before booking. Some amenities may not be available as advertised.

I was thrilled with the beautifully decorated, authentic-looking ambiance in the lobby, I love historic places like this. Was very happy with the room too. It's so cute. Although tiny (and I mean realllllly tiny), the room is very comfortable, well-equiped with everything you may need. And charming looking as well. It's like a snug little hut on a ship. I stayed here for 9 days/ 8 nights, and I loved it. The hallways etc. have portholes like on a ship. Plus, the shared bathrooms are cleaned multiple times a day.

I was disappointed to find the ballroom and rooftop terrace are not accessible to hotel guests. They are only open for private events, plus the ballroom opens as a disco/nightclub a few evenings per week. But you can't just sit there during the day, have a tea and enjoy, as I hoped. Quite disappointing - and in this respect, the hotel information and photos are misrepresentative.

I really enjoyed the overall concept of the Jane Hotel and the looks of it. Everything was arranged with much love and the staff was exceptionally friendly. It is located perfectly, close to the Hudson River Park, the metro and to some cute restaurants and supermarkets. Also there is a little cafe adjacant to the lobby and there is a system implemented designed to save power and to be as efficent as possible.

It wasn't quite clear from the description that there was no common room for the guests and that the big hall and terrace you can see in the pictures are reserved for exclusive parties. Also there were the same beard stubbles on the sink for three days. The toilets were cleaned daily if not more often.

The staff was very nice. We loved the traditional outfits. The bathrooms were clean! And the perfect location.

We had to laugh about the room size. It looks slightly bigger on the pictures. But you need new beds. Some kind of box spring and new mattresses. My poor back.

Beautiful old building. Our room was quite large by NYC standards. Furnished with antiques and a very comfortable bed. Especially loved the upholstered walls. Location is handy to the Village, Chelsey, and the High Line. Lots of neighborhood eateries nearby.

No major complaints. We would have liked to have a couple of cups in the room for water – not a big deal. Next time we'll bring bottled water with us. Will definitely stay here next time we're in town.

Very kind staff and very small but comfortable rooms with a very special and well chosen interior.Whitney Museum,High Line,Hudson,Grocery Stores and Subway were around the corner.....if you don't need too much comfort but just a quiet space to stay and sleep in NYC in an old house with atmosphere...this is your hotel!

Pretty decor. Nice shared bathroom. Very clean. The tiny rooms are very intelligently designed and equipped.

The beautiful communal spaces in the pictures are closed for renovation. You can’t control the temperature, so the room turns into a sauna if you don’t keep the window open (even in freezing temperatures!)

Good location in my favourite district of New York. Very close to wonderful amenities. Excellent choice for a solo traveller on a budget who values historic buildings. It is not far from the Whitney museum and the South end of the High Line. The Staff are very nice too.

A visitor should know that this hotel is very very compact - like being on a ship -and the bathroom is shared. Also it is a historic building so there are not so many modern amenities. This second point is specific to this particular visit (Summer 2023; my second time to stay there) - There was building upgrades and refurbishment - which made the corridors a bit chaotic.

The bathrooms were super clean and nice, considering I booked a room with the shared third floor bathroom. Everything looks perfectly 1920s in this hotel, it was amazing. The only reason I didn't rate it a '10' is that it will be even better once they finish renovating, and hopefully have a little cafe or something in there. The renovations themselves caused no problems, though. There was work going on outside (nothing to do with the hotel, I don't think), so the area was a little noisy during the day. The hotel itself was quiet though, and the area is great and safe to walk around at night.

As stated above, it will be even better after all the renos are done. But it's still really beautiful right now. The lobby and room hallways weren't under construction, just a couple areas off the hallways, which I presume will be a cafe and bar once it's done. I will be back again, for sure, any time I am in New York City in future, and it will be even more amazing if they have some attached facilities like a bar and cafe.

The room is exactly what you expect for the money you pay, which is more than decent even though really small, but it's still convenient. The location is more than ideal, being in the village and next to the Hudson river. Staff is lovely and always ready to help.

There a was a smell of cold smoke in the corridor the first days of our stay, but it eventually got away later. The shared bathroom on the 3rd floor would maybe need a better closing of the shower to avoid getting water everwhere. Also, would have loved to be able to go to the ballroom for drinks in the evening and meeting other guests of the hotel when not ised as a nightclub, just a thought :)
