Budget friendly accommodation in a very convenient location. If you walk out of the 23rd Street Station you will almost see it immediately. Close enough to Moynihan Train hall for onward travel. Without being overly friendly, the staff are calm, respectful, professional and accommodating. The Breakfast experience turned out to be a delight - I randomly got chatting to other residents and had a great time talking about our travels over breakfast.

This is not something that I "dont like", but it is probably best to be aware of if you are thinking of staying here - this is run by a religious charitable organization, and the ambience reflects that. The residents were older on average that other places I stayed. If you are travelling with older relations - definitely consider this place. If you are here on a Party vacation, you should really look elsewhere.

The accommodations are basic and a little dated but exceptionally clean and well maintained. The location is fantastic, subway is a few minutes walk away which gives easy access to upper and lower manhattan. Walking distance to the high line and Chelsea market. They do a free breakfast Monday to Saturday from 7am, bagel, muffins, toast and cereal etc. unexpected but very appreciated. The staff are so friendly and welcoming from the minute you walk in the door. I felt very safe being there on my own. They have a buzzer on the outside door so it is always locked and then the second door is locked from 11pm so you get buzzed in. The reception is manned 24 hours. I’m a confident traveller, but there are times you can still feel vulnerable. I didn’t feel worried at any point staying here. I’m so glad I found this place as it was worth every penny and more. If I go to NYC again I would 100% have The Leo House at the top of my list for hotels.

Location on 23rd street very convienient, subway A,C at the corner, crossbus M23, M20 uptown, M11 down at 8/9 ave, restaurants nearby.. Breakfast mo-sat good in general. Fresh fruit and waffle. Laundry availability at low cost in the cellar. Comfortable bed. Quick fix when lamp did not work. Nice staff. Lobby space. Hot and cold water dispenser. Cookie in the afternoon. Shower/bath in corridor clean.

- The coffee, far too week, not drinkable. The tea, no choice of fruity, mint. - Check in not possible until 16.20 - No bedside table (chair used). No power for charging at one side of the bed. - No view (wall 1,5 m from window).

Great location; reasonable rates; courteous, professional staff; good breakfast included Mon - Fri; a walkable 8 blocks from Moynihan Train Hall (Amtrak) and half a block from a subway station. Three subway stops from the theater district. There’s an ice machine on the ground floor along with vending machines with reasonably priced sodas and snacks and with tables where guests could get together to eat food brought in. Good security. Sensible policies.

The staff at The Leo House were possibly the friendliest I have ever met. Everything about our stay was enjoyable. The morning breakfast was delightful and the coffee was actually delicious. Thank you to the hotel for offering free luggage storage ... we took advantage of this both on arrival and departure days. The other people staying at the hotel were super friendly. It was a comfortabl-no-frills, surprisingly quiet, very clean and super friendly place to stay and honestly I'm not sure I'd even look for a different place for my next trip. The Leo House is a gem!

I thought the breakfast was very good! Having to check in and get my key did make me feel safe. You did give alot of towels. Soda machine especially for $1 was great

One elevator didn’t work. Room was a little hot. They had to fix my tv because it didn’t work

Third time at Leo House and definitely not the last. Warm and cozy atmospere, nothing that can be faulted if your expectations are realistic. The location is wonderful for both work and travel purposes, the price is hard to beat, the hotel itself is a story to tell. Great heating, several ways of accessing wifi (which was important for a professional stay). Thoroughly enjoyed having a full bath at our disposal, though the half bath is perfectly ok for shorter stays. Free hairdryer to borrow, printed boarding passes, positive attitude: issues are taken care of, staff is always present on the premises to see to the customers' needs, both clients and visitors are buzzed it, so that everything feels safe. Will always gladly return.

I missed the hot chocolate and treats of yesteryear - downstairs in the lobby - and I wish breakfast could be served at the weekends as well, even if not complimentary.

For the price, the hotel still manages to offer free breakfast from Monday to Saturday. The staffs are very friendly; the breakfast and room service are also very good. The location is 1-min walk away from the nearest subway station.

MOST OF ALL WE LOVED THE YUMMY BIG FULL BREAKFAST THAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE ROOM. AND THE DINING ROOM WHERE YOU SERVE YOURSELF IS LARGE AND ELEGANT, WITH WHITE CLOTH TABLECLOTHS ON EACH OF THE TABLES. We got one of the rooms with a bathroom connected to it, which was nice, Instead of having to share a bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable. The two single beds were pushed together and very comfortable. We loved the charming little chapel...We attended Mass there since it was Ash Wednesday--I think they have Mass there almost every day. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Had to run the bathroom shower water for a long time (3 or 4 mins) before it turned hot, but this wasn't a big deal.
