The lady owner greeted us with freshly made coffee and two huge slices of homemade cake! You are free to walk around their massive garden areas along the trails, and there's a super view across the loch. The shower pressure was the best we've had during our week away. The breakfast next day was VERY plentiful. All in all the owners went above and beyond what our expectations were. Thankyou.
Without question, Powdermills is a fabulous B&B. But it's a shame that there is nowhere to eat evening meal unless travelling back to Inveraray. This wouldn't put us off staying there again though.

We loved everything. Sue and John were the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome. When we arrived, they made us a pot of tea together with some homemade cakes. There's a lovely seating area for guests with plenty of tea/coffee provided to make a drink. Sue even provides afternoon snacks/cake. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely view across the garden. Breakfast was substantial. John cooked an amazing breakfast with several choices that set us up for the day. This is such a lovely B&B, and we will definitely stay again when we next come up to Scotland.
There was nothing to dislike

The very warm welcome with a delicious afternoon tea on arrival was delightful. Our hosts provided us with crockery, glasses etc for our supper which we had Brough with us as we didn’t wish to drive back to the village for dinner. The menu for breakfast options was extensive and really delicious. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the hearing came on at night even though it was summer though a little cool and rainy during our one night stay.
Everything was excellent

We had never been to this part of Scotland before and simply chose Powdermills B&B as a place to explore the area. It was one of our best decisions ever. Set in an area of scenic beauty, it is a beauty in itself. Located 8 miles past Inverary near the village of Furness it is ideally located to explore Loch Fyne, Inverary and parts much further afield. As you approach the outskirts of Furness watch out for the 2 white cannon signs either side of the road pointing to the accommodation which will be to your right. It is set back from the main road through gates and along a short driveway. There are plenty of spaces for parking. A warm friendly welcome is guaranteed with nice snacks and a drink for the weary traveller. The property is modern in build, spacious and light throughout. Our room was likewise with ensuite and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast is served in the main living area off the kitchen. There was a huge array of food suitable for any diet and delicious. The proprietors are friendly and available for advice on the local area/eating places etc. They maintain a small forest and grounds (sorry forgot how many acres) which is the reason for the property exceeding our expectations. We took time to explore the grounds with most pathways being easy to walk and only c15 mins and were rewarded with a great view of Loch Fyne. If you have time I would definitely recommend you do the same. It is ideally located 8 miles (c13 mins) from Inveraray going north or 3 miles (c5mins) from Crarae Gardens to the south. We visited the gardens on our way in (3 hours) and they are well worth a view. We also visited Inveraray and the Castle, home to the Duke of Argyll. There are plenty of eating establishments in Inveraray, we ate at the George Hotel and Inveraray Inn and would recommend both. Also visit the Harbour Gallery, good prices/amazing art.
Remember to pack your insect repellant for pesky midges. It didn't spoil our visit in anyway and is just a personal observation.

The hosts, Johnny and Sue were really friendly and helpful. We visited in late August. Breakfast was exceptional. Our room was clean, comfortable. The grounds made the stay very memorable. we went for a walk in the afternoon, and one their dogs decided he would like to come with us. Johnny's detailed instructions to get there were spot on. Sue - thank you for the recommendations of Scottish singers (that I liked at breakfast). I play them on the bus on the way to work. Great memories. We are recommending a stay to friends.
We only stayed one night!

After a long day travelling, it was a joy to be welcomed by our hosts, then drop our bags in our room before going for a leisurely walk through the beautiful grounds and woods that surround the Powder Mill B&B. The rooms are spotlessly clean with double doors that lead directly outside onto decking. We slept well in the comfortable bed and really appreciated the larger than average breakfast table. After a hearty breakfast we were refreshed and ready to head on our way.
Not a problem, but we couldn't work out how to work the telly.

What a place! Treated like Royalty - suites are simply fantastic - elegant, well equipped and super quiet and comfortable. Breakfasts delicious with huge choice. Hosts just lovely and sharing their home is a real privilege. Everything you could want is there - don't hesitate just get it booked! you will regret missing out I assure you. Private parking and clear instructions on how to get there much appreciated - just a shortish drive from Inverary which is perfect for mooching around and has good eateries plus a waterfront and a castle! Little surprise on the property - you'll have to go to find out! Shower room just great and toileteries high quality.
Having only 2 nights!

From the very warm welcome and home made cake from Sue and John, to the spotlessly clean accommodation and outstanding breakfast, everything was truly excellent. The location, views and facilities are all outstanding.
We actually liked everything but in the interest of giving some constructive criticism, and noting that we completely understand and agree with the need for there to be a gate at the end of the driveway, the catch was a little stiff to open and could do with something a bit easier.

This place is absolutely fabulous. It has that Scottish feel to it, it's surrounded by fields and woods and you can have your coffee in the morning just listening to the birds and breathing all that clean fresh air. The room was big and comfortable and the bathroom it has to be the biggest one I have ever seen. It has large floor to ceiling doors and windows with an amazing view outside. The owners have a very good taste paying attention to little details which make the place so cozy. They are extremely welcoming and friendly and made our stay very enjoyable putting everything at our disposal, giving us recommendations on places to visit or where to eat and also tailoring the breakfast to our requests and likes. We absolutely loved it and would definitely go back.
It's about 10 min drive from Inveraray so you definitely need a car. Also it could use a bigger sign as we arrived late in the evening and drove by the place twice until we saw the sign. The wifi connection wasn't great but we faced this all over Scotland except for big cities, so I wouldn't recommend planning to work from there.
