Staff were friendly and helpful, luggage storage was much appreciated. Newly renovated modern bathroom in family room.

We needed 6 beds but website wasn't clear that 6th bed was a small rollaway. Nothing mentioned on the website that aircon for the room is an extra £20.

I got a real deal on the price through booking.com paying only £44.00 for a night. So everything was good. Had I paid the normal going rate I wouldnt have been so pleased. The room was comfortable and warm, with an en suite shower and toilet. There was tea and coffee making facilities but no biscuits, but for £44.00 you wont hear any complaints from me lol.

Unable to park near the hotel

A five minutes walk from Paddington tube and railway.. A very pleasant and helpful young man on reception. I was allowed to upgrade from a single with lots and lots of stairs to a double on the lower ground for a small fee and no fuss. A very clean room, en suite shower and wc. Clean, fresh white bed linen and towels and soap provided. Lots of hot water to shower. Comfortable double bed.

The room had a French door/window leading onto a tiny decked 'courtyard' . The door would not lock. IT NEEDS FIXING PLEASE. I slept with a chair in front of it although it opened outwards. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been wonderful.

If you need a cosy place to stay and to explore London, than Barry House is a superb option. The cost benefit ratio is very good. The Lodon Paddington Tune station is 3 minutes away, lots a restaurants nearby. My favorite was the Paramount Lebanese Restaurant in the same street, just 2 minutes down the road, next to the Subway station. The hotel as such is cosy and clean and very quite. Don't expect luxuries. My room had no fridge, but the window platform served as a viable alternative. The hotel staff loaned me an adapter for the British socket. Bring your own, in case the Barry has all loaned their spare adapters. The Hilton Paddington is just 3 minutes down the street. If you are ready to spend 8 times the Barry House rate, stay with the Hilton. I would always prefer the Barry House and spend the savings for things that you can take home as souvenirs or gifts.

The remote control did not work properly. 2 lamps did not work.

The hotel is in the perfect location, we stayed for 2 nights to attend a concert at Hyde Park, which was just a few short minutes away, and a short walk to Paddington station. Plenty of restaurants and bars surrounding it. The room itself was super clean, and we had no issues accessing the property. The staff were super friendly, and the hotel didn't have loud excessive noise, which was great.

We were placed in a room on the top floor as we needed space for 3 people. The room was perfect apart from the heat. It is understandable that this is unavoidable because heat rises, but at some points, the room was stifling hot, and the single fan in the room didn't really ease the humidity even with the window fully open so I think it would really benefit from an additional fan if possible. If staying for longer than a few nights, then some people may find the beds slightly uncomfortable.

Location was excellent , the family that run the hotel were all very friendly . The hotel is very clean and well maintained , plenty of tea/ coffee etc in the room and daily housekeeping . Bed was firmer than I’m used to but still comfortable . I would definitely book this hotel again and recommend to others .

The only downside for me was the buzzing / ringing from the door bell connected to a box on the basement level as it was right outside my door and woke me very early , I know this can’t be helped due to location of the room , I’m sure the upper levels are fine and quiet .

I was travelling alone, and booked a single room, but was given a spacious room with a double and single bed, so perhaps I got lucky, but it was very good value. Good hot shower and water pressure, sheets very clean and comfy bed. Tea and coffee and kettle in the room and a hair dryer too.

Furniture and decor is a little tired but for the price this did not matter at all to me.

Lovely staff, larger than average room (they gave me a twin even though I only booked a single), comfortable and quiet room at top of building, hairdryer provided, tea/coffee-making facilities provided, clean bathroom with powerful hot shower, great value-for-money (£45 a night). Definitely one of the better budget London hotels I've stayed at - the overall rating by others is a fair reflection.

Room was up 4 increasingly narrow and steep flights of stairs, so may not be suitable for infirm. Rooms on lower floors better in this respect.

Brilliant location! Exceptional staff - kind and attentive. You will read a review below from someone staying the same time I stayed where the reviewer was complaining about a staff person knocking on his door - this was because he was flooding his bathroom which trickled down to mine. The staff did there very best to deal with this unfortunate chap and had the issue rectified in no time (much to his embarrassment given he flooded his own room). Overall, you get what you pay for - this is a budget hotel. One that is clean and one that gives you a great location!!

Noisy in the room by the front desk, but very quiet past 10.

The room was clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly. They advised me well about transportation about my whereabouts. After the check-out in the morning my luggage was well-kept collected it in the evenning.

That is a little hard to say.. The only thing that could say is that when I wanted to extend a 3-th night the costs where a bit to high compared with the first 2 nights. But then again, there was no single room available on the premises.
