The hotel is very nice and welcoming. The owners are so kind and helpful. The facilities are very nice and the breakfast was fantastic. They even accommodated my daughter with celiac disease and have gluten free offerings. Our room was nice and quiet and the view from our balcony was breathtaking.

There isn’t anything bad to say, but the bathroom shower was extremely small and the bathroom was hard to maneuver - just very small but this is normal for old buildings in Europe and we spend much more time seeing the alps than sitting in a bathroom so it’s not a big deal.

The staff were very hospitable and will go above and beyond whenever you need assistance! Everything is clean in the hotel— most especially the room. Breakfast was superb (loved the local cheese selection) and even has a lovely window seat for the view of the Alps! Room with Mountain View Balcony is definitely worth the price, the stunning view of the Swiss Alps was just brilliant and incredible.

Wi-Fi was decent but I hope that they will consider in upgrading to faster bandwidth.

This hotel has an amazing view, just amazing. It seems like most rooms have a little balcony and we certainly enjoyed ours. The rooms are small, but thoughtfully laid out (see my comments on the bathroom below). The staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great with a wide variety of foods and eggs cooked to order. There is a garden sitting area where you can have wine or coffee and enjoy the view. A couple of evenings we picked up food from the small market in town and had an evening picnic in the garden--fantastic view and so relaxed. Wengen as a whole is breathtaking with many simple local hikes easily accessible from there, but Wengen also has easy access to Mannlichen, an easy train or longer walk to Lauterbrunnen (don't stay in Lauterbrunnen, it is uncomfortably crowded and busy), and it has easy access to/from Murren --which is a great spot for some amazing hikes (walk the Northface hike, it's not too hard and just stunning). Wengen also has easy access to the Jungfraujoch. If you are staying in Switzerland and visiting both the Alps region and other areas, I recommend the half-fare pass over the many other options Swiss rail offers (so confusing!!) as it will get you half off the very pricey (but worthwhile) visit to the top of Jungfrau and half off all other fares, including cable cars and funiculars.

Oh my goodness the bathroom is tiny. My only concern here is that the floor of the very small, elevated shower does not have a shower mat or a non slip surface. There is not a bar to hold on to when stepping up/in and down/out. Anyone with mobility or balance issues may find this risky.

The pick up and drop off from the train station on arrival and departure were most welcome. As was the welcome drink. Study was a great place to relax with a beer, from the honesty bar, and the selection of books. Breakfast was great with fresh produce and a good selection. Room had a lovely view. Bed very comfortable.

A shame that only served dinner one evening. Bathroom could do with more space for toiletries. Up a hill, but this actually was a positive to walk off dinner and have that amazing view. Nothing really not to like.

It was one of the best views ever from a room I stayed in. Wengen is amazing and Hotel Alpenruhen's location is excellent. You can see the entire Lauterbrunnen valley below. Hotel is 12 mins of train ride from Lauterbrunen and then a 7-8 min slight uphill walk from Wengen train station. They pick you up and drop you off at check in and check out which is very nice. The room is spacious, modern and luxurious. Breakfast area is comfortable and food was delicious.

Everything was excellent

We loved everything about our stay here! The staff was so incredibly welcoming and willing to help with whatever we needed - they offered free transport to and from the train station and gave an impromptu mini-tour of Wengen on our way to the hotel. The view from our room was breathtaking! The room was very spacious and spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was great. We'll be staying again at Hotel Alpenruhe when we return to Switzerland.

Waking up to the view of the Jungfrau was a dream! The premium for a mountain view is more than worth it! I took so many photos from the balcony and even got a double rainbow. Room was simple but clean and with everything I needed. Delicious breakfast with many local products. Friendly staff.

Hopefully (unlike me!) you're not pulled into any work video calls while you're staying here, but internet speed was not consistently good enough for live video calls. But fine otherwise including for Netflix.

The location of Alpine Rhue Vintage Hotel at the top of the town (Wengen) provided a breathtaking view of the alps (including Jungfrau) from the balcony doors. The premium room was spacious and comfortable. The cable car from Wengen to Mannlichen is mandatory in your visit. You can take a second cable car at the top through the valley to Grindewald for even more spectacular scenery. There was not many people (early September) around so we had the Alps to ourselves.

Very friendly and attentive stuff - quiet location overlooking Wengen with breathtaking views - delicious breakfast - shuttle service from the station - access to the beautiful garden - great hiking paths nearby

The bathroom was extremely small (could be a problem for people with mobility issues), the keys were too chunky and heavy, the bed in the single bedroom was too narrow (felt like a bed for children).

Everything. The carefree village. The magnificent 50s and 60s Swiss design furniture. The sweet, always ready to help staff. The excellent and varied breakfast fare. Freshly prepared eggs.. The location on the edge of the village, only 5 minutes from some very nice (read good food) restaurants. Well worth paying a bit more for a Mountain View balcony room. That made our stay amazing - we appreciated all the different skies on and over the superb mountains with their glaciers- blue sky, dotted with clouds, low and slate coloured rain clouds, totally submerged by cotton ball clouds coming and going into the valley.

Nothing.
