Very good cleanliness, excellent location to main attractions and very helpful staff. No breakfast facilities but that did not matter as there is a a very good cafe 30m away offering excellent value and quality as well as a supermarket almost opposite; if you want to eat in the room a kettle tea bags and coffee are provided. There is also an iron if you want to press clothes before hitting the town!

No signs saying you were at the Hostal. If a member of staff seeing us looking confused had not called to us we would not have known we were there. There are other hostals in the building and their names are on view but not Alexis. If we had arrived at night we would have struggled to find the Hostal. I appreciate that cleanline and hygenes is most important and the use of plastic undersheets helps with hygene, but it can make for an uncomfortable sleep in what was an otherwise excellent bed.

The bed, furnitures, design of the bathroom, cleanness of the room, overall setup. Privacy, quietness, practicality.

I really appreciate the bidet but I wish it was a Japanese bidet lol. Water splashed all over because I wasn’t used to that design. 😅 AC was slightly difficult to figure out, sometimes it didn’t turn on the way I wanted to, or do cool air. Maybe it’s old idk. The elevator was working when we got there (thank god) but it stopped working and had to used the stairs for the rest of our stay. Felt bad for other guests too!!! It was good exercise tho. It was a nice place in a great location. The room was huge, quiet and within budget. It had a little refrigerator. It was really, really clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and put up with our mix of English, Portuguese and Mexican Spanish.

Nothing much. We could have done with a shower tutorial. Our results were blooper-reel hilarious until we got the hang of it. It really was a nice place.

the elevator did not work. we were there for 4 days and the place is the at 4th floor. It means 100 stairs every time you want to go to your room. considering that we went there 3/4 times per day for shower, changing, etc.. it is a lot of stairs. In 4 days, it could have been repaired. It is, of course, not only their problem, it was a building issue but for the guests it is annoying and should be prevented

The location was excellent. Very close to the centre of Sol. We had restaurants, shops, and entertainment within metres of the hotel and attractions within walking distance. The train station was about 200 metres away and the main train station was a 20 minute walk. It was a vibrant area. If you want to be close to everything and are happy to have a small, clean room with the basics I would recommend this property.

Breakfast wasn’t included, but we knew that.

Great location, comfortable bed and quiet room, despite overlooking a busy road below. Rooms are on the 4th floor but there is a lift. Reception hours are a little restrictive but check in was easy. Despite arriving outside of the reception opening hours we received instructions the day before of how to access the accommodation. Lots of restaurants/cafes/supermarkets within a few steps of the hostel. The staff we met on our check out day were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again when in Madrid

The staff was very friendly and helpful, although only one staff member spoke English. Even so the staff that didn’t speak much English tried very hard to assist us and for the most part were successful. Also, our room was very clean and spacious. The location was excellent.

First, the elevator was a very old style and at first we didn’t realize it actually worked and so we carried our luggage up four floors. It would have been helpful to be made aware ahead of time that it was functional. Also, it was disconcerting that reception was only manned from 9:00am-1:00pm and from 6:00pm-2:00am. This made it difficult to get questions answered and obtain other information.

A good basic hostel. Rooms are on the 3rd and 4th floor of an old building. There is a very old elevator which will take you up. The reception is only manned at certain times and key cards are left in a pin safe We had a junior suit. It is a good size and recently refurbished. Bed was comfy. But could have done with two pillow. The bathroom is amazing and the shower would fit in a 5* hotel

The entry was not easy and after a long journey we nearly gave up. Luckily helped by some other guests and eventually found our room

It was not our first time in that place. We chose it again because of its great location in the heart of Madrid. It is close to everything. The staff is so polite and helpful. The room is huge enough, so clean and warm. Inside we had everything we needed. We really recommend this place.

The room was spacious and clean has everything you need (1 Coffe sachet every day, Mini fridge, Iron and Iron Board, The location of the hotel is Great very close to the main Square Puerta Del Sol. and within walking distance from the major attractions, Coffee shops, restaurants, and souvenir shops.
