Staff were very welcoming, check-in/out was straightforward, and we were able to store bags before flights. A small lift as well, which was useful! Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was well equipped, and the shower pressure/temperature was great. Beds were a little firm for my preference but slept well. There was the expected noise from the street in the middle of a capital city centre, but didn't go on until early hours or keep us awake. The location is really great if you want to stay central, walking distance to most sights, or loads of taxis, 4 mins away from metro.. There are plenty of great restaurants, taverns, bars on the doorstep, and in any direction you travel!

Newly decorated rooms are spacious and fresh. Location is more than perfect! If you need hairdryer, you need to ask at the reception.

We booked Hostel Marlasca based on the photos we saw on Booking. However, when we came, they gave us old smelly and dirty room on the 4th floor. We made a complaint, but they told us that they do not have newly renovated rooms free, and that they will organise new room for next day. They did, however, we did not pay for that old room, and it sure was not on their page....(we have not got refund for that night).

Location is superb close to all sightseeing and restaurants, especially to Sol metro where you can take Renfe suburban train and metro. Casa Toni restaurant is just downstairs who serve good local foods. They have a lift to the rooms. There's vending machines that serve free hot water.

Very noise from the bar and pub nearby. The tourist tends to have beers all night long till very late around 5am. Luckily we did bring earplugs otherwise would be hard to sleep.

The location is unbeatable. Literally right next to the hotel are streets full of restaurants / bars / shops, and less than 5 minutes walking you are at the city center / a major metro station. It is so convenient. The hostel fulfills its function (everything works fine, good air conditioning, clean beddings, etc.). There's even a small balcony!

Not very soundproof - you could hear music and the crowd cheering late at night if your room is facing the restaurant streets.

This place was perfect for exploring Madrid! The location was the reason we chose it, but the Hostal was better than we could have expected. It was extremely family-friendly. Most of the people we saw in the halls also had kids. we stayed in a room that had a small balcony, but there were modern insulated windows that really blocked out the noise, which was awesome because this place is located right where the action is! We could enjoy the balcony with all the singing and revelry below, or close the windows and have peace and quiet. The room was clean, the staff was helpful, and we were able to rest between attractions.

The room had a couple of quirks, one of the ac units dripped (we just used the other one, so no big deal), and the bathroom had frosted glass doors with no lock. we actually made a sign so we wouldn't walk in on each other.

Clean, finished to very high standard, secure, central location was perfect. Had no isses with noise like some other reviewers, despite being over the street- even on very busy saturday night

Could see through bathroom door reflective edging, which was weird- but not end of the world for couples. Smallish room size meant aircon blew directly onto us from over the bed, which kept my partner awake

The location was excellent, right in the heart of Madrid, close to the Metro and countless cafes, bars and restaurants. The rooms were fairly basic, lacking some of the personal touches seen in some hotels, but perfectly adequate for our visit.

Maybe its a British thing but I miss not having a kettle in the room to make an early morning or late night cuppa.

Splendid budget hotel to visit Madrid. Ideal location, excellent bed, top notch aircon ( very important in Spain 😆). Compact room, safe for valuables, almost brand new bathroom with very large walk-in shower). Rarely do I feel home in a hotel in just two nights so if and when I visit I will come back.

Madrid is wonderful city… which demands maintenance so there was some street work but there are tons of ways to get to the hotel so a minor nuisance. Also I visited at the beginning of June so plenty of school children but after 9:30 pm the hotel fell perfectly silent.

Great location, near many restaurants and right in the centre of the city. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was very comfortable, I was able to fall asleep instantly. There are lockers to put your things away when you come before it’s time to check-in, which was a plus since I arrived super early in the morning. The air con worked perfectly and it kept the room in a good temperature compared to the very hot weather of June in Spain. Even though the staff can only speak Spanish we were able to communicate clearly, even with my broken Spanish.

It was in an excellent location. We could easily walk to attractions, restaurants, etc. We stayed twice at the hotel, at the start and end of our trip. om both occasions the room was quite spacious and had large windows. The rooms were very clean and I like that the bedding was a duvet rather than a sheet and blankets. The beds were very comfortable. It was very convenient to have the shower in a separate room from the toilet and sink as we were a family of 4 sharing a room.

It would have been nice to have a hair dryer in the bathroom.
