This park was everything we hoped for when booking. Stacey was an absolute asset, she was so helpful, so kind and really cared about her guests! - The 40 minute waterfall walk was everything the kids dreamed of! Having a playground onsite for the kids was probably the biggest highlight. - The glow worms are all throughout the park we even had some on the bank behind our tent! - They have a very basic shop onsite as well which is awesome because there's always something that you forget! - I didn't use the laundry here although they do offer coin washing machines. The showers were cleaned daily, the lounge had plenty of space and you could cook in here and use the fridge/freezer.

- West Coast Rain! Next time I will definitely be taking a tarp for the tent or booking a cabin! The weather here can be several seasons in one day. - I also advise purchasing okarito sandfly repellent as it is the only one string enough for the west coast sandflies. - The park could also consider making under 5's free as most other places do this.

The atmosphere was quiet. The host took the time to explain the campsite layout and where to find glow worms in the campsite, which was very helpful. There was also a small shop in the reception, for any last-minute groceries. Additionally, the campsite had a sauna and hot tub that you could book, and Wi-Fi vouchers were available for purchase. The glow worm encounter was definitely the highlight of our stay, and the fact that you get to see them really close is amazing. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything needed to prepare a meal.

Finding a flat surface was challenging. We had difficulty sleeping in our campervan as it wasn’t parked on level ground. If you check in early, it would be much easier to secure a flat spot. Bathrooms were ok.

Excellent facilities and very clean. Unpowered sites are separate in the bush so there is some degree of privacy.

Great location, wonderful nature ambiance, there's even a nice waterfall hike and glowworms at the property. It's very calm, the Kiwi room was very comfy (and near the bathrooms so no long walks in the cold to the shower 😉). The amenities were nearby and offered everything we needed, and there is even a small shop at the reception for your basic needs. Our only regret is that we didn't book another night here as well.

The electric blanket on the window side of the bed in Kiwi cabin didn't work unfortunately. But it wasn't a big issue for us + we've notified the staff and they said they'll take care of it.

The hosts had a lot of useful information. It is in the middle of nowhere. The converted barn was a unique accommodation. The associated features of the property such as the glow worms were great.

It was hard to dodge the chickens (and their poo) at the doors. The one bathroom downstairs was small and cold for the 5 people staying. The stairs were steep and narrow, with little head room. A lack of power points.

The property was absolutely amazing, best place to go to relax in nature, unwind and rejuvenate. Loved waking up in such a peaceful setting with native birds. The waterfall and glow worms were spectacular and so close to walk to. Staff were wonderful, and very helpful. I highly recommended Jackson’s retreat, such a hidden gem surrounded by lush forest.

Extra things on the property like the glow worms and the waterfall and even fresh eggs from the little store. Really appreciated the fluffy bath mats in the showers! The communal dining/ lounge was really lovely with gas stoves and a fireplace!

Main steps to and from the kitchen were uneven, can be a little steeply sloped and a bit slippery, especially in the dark. Almost tripped and fell a few times even with my phone light.

The nature surrounding is awesome, waterfall, glow worms spots are the ones you want to go. A playground which also has a great trampoline and volleyball is great to be. Friendly and helpful Stacey and Craig, keeping shared place warm and whatever you need they are there to help.

The location was most definitely close to nature. The dawn chorus was lovely. The communal kitchen/dining room and lounge was comfortable and spacious with a lovely warm fire place. Bathroom and toilets were clean and tidy. We very much appreciated being able to have our pet dog stay with us.

I would have liked to be able to make a cup of tea and a piece of toast in the cabin.

Facilities were all very clean, the kitchen is very well equipped and it’s a nice cosy lounge. The glow worms were amazing, the best we’ve seen! And the little hike up to the waterfall is also a bit of fun. The location is also great for stopping over for Arthur’s pass (about 20-30 min drive depending which bit you go to)

Lots of the sites aren’t flat so I imagine if you arrive later when the good sites have been taken it could be a pretty uncomfortable nights sleep! A wifi code is sold at reception for $6 but if you just pay for it online it’s only $5 which is a bit cheeky, especially considering all other campsites we’ve stayed at have had free wifi. The hot water ran out when we were showering on the first day, although it was fine the second night.
