Stayed for 3 nights. Very clean hotel and the room. Absolutely loved how many lights were in the room. We had a small kitchenette with all the utensils, glasses plates etc. Breakfast in the restaurant was perfect. All the food freshly made! You do need to reserve the table for the next day. The place gets packed through the day. We parked at the hotel parking ($25 per night) and decided to walk everywhere. Most famous attractions are walking distance. It was snowing on the last night and the hotel staff cleaned all the cars in the morning, that was such a nice gesture. All of the staff in the hotel and the restaurant were kind and helpful. We will definitely come back!

The breakfast was plenty nice, and the restaurant/bar attached is lively at night with knowledgeable bartenders and a beautiful atmosphere. They let us bring the bottle of wine we bought up to the room with glasses, but you cannot charge things at the restaurant to your room. Which was okay for us!

The ceiling height was low in our room, and there were a few tight hallways and steps we had to drag our luggage through to get to the room. It wasn't too bad though. The bathroom lighting could have been better, but they provide a lit cosmetic mirror to compensate!

Mother daughter trip. 1st night in Quebec. Chose Hotel Port Royal because the suite looked amazing and the Louise Tavern food looked wonderful. Arrived very late, midnight. Front desk helped us with our luggage across the street in the snow. Wished we could have stayed alot longer but had a tour scheduled at another hotel the next day. Ate at Louise for breakfast and dinner... incredible. Our suite was old town Quebe charming, gorgeous view from the round front window!! We were in the room behind the big wreath. Everything about it was impeccable!! Staff was kind, friendly and very accommodating!! Beds were perfect! Loved it all!! Just a beautiful room! They thought of everything! Next time we'll stay longer and visit in Spring or summer. Haven't checked my credit card yet but expect the bill will be fine!

Nothing!!

The staff upon arrival were very friendly and the room was a good size with a comfy bed. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotels restaurant which was lovely. The hotel is located in a very beautiful area of the lower town with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. To get to the old town you can either take the bus (the hotel is part of a programme that gives it's guests free bus travel for 3 days so worth asking at reception for some tickets), or if you prefer you can walk to the funicular and either take that up or walk up the stairs.

Nothing, everything was amazing!

My room was in the former bank and it was a huge apartment. Right in the centre of Quebec old town so a perfect location. Reception was very helpful as they knew all about the tours and you could even book direct with them. The hop on hop off bus gave an excellent way to see all the main sights. The carpark was directly in front of the hotel.

The restaurant attached to the hotel- it was not possible to charge the dinner or breakfast directly to your room which I thought was a little odd. Also at breakfast the waitress was in a hurry to present the bill even though I had not finished my breakfast.

The location was more than ideal. Got a free room upgrade, which was HIGHLY appreciated. We had a corner room so we had a ton of windows to look out of and people watch :) The stay was comfortable with a large room, dining table, a murphy bed/sofa, kitchenette, and large bathroom. The hotel also had a restaurant right under it, Louise, and the food was delicious!! Check-in/check-out was smooth. The hotel staff also called a cab for us to get to the airport so we didn't have to worry about ride-shares or getting to the airport on time.

Definitely on the pricey side, but that's probably because of its location. You cannot get any closer to the bustle. Bed and pillows were too soft for my taste. There were several people rotating at the front desk and most were pleasant and friendly. But there was one who seemed to have an attitude - I asked a very benign question and the response was riddled with judgment and attitude. We could probably chalk it up to "cultural differences" or "having a bad day". But the other staff members were delightful.

This hotel is a real gem! The location is fantastic, just on the edge of the Old Town with all the beautiful streets and alleys, but avoiding the hustle and bustle. The Gare du Palais is only a short walk away, if you arrive by train. The hotel is absolutely charming and the staff very welcoming. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the little kitchen in the room is a wonderful little bonus. The bed was very comfortable. Considering the size of the hotel, I was pleased they also have a gym. The gym is compact, but has enough equipment to get a workout. The guest laundry was a nice surprise.

Old Quebec City is just the right amount of beauty, serenity, traditional, a hearty amount of Canadian-French history and steps. Yes. A lot of steps. Prepare to walk a lot if you want to enjoy this part of the city! The hotel was right at the perfect place from the bus station - Gare du Palais. There are really nice restaurants right outside the hotel. The hotel itself looks like it was built out of an old tiny castle. They preserved the style and I loved it! The checkin was flawless - we were presented with all the information required. We also got a super nice room that overlooks the La Vivrière. I couldn't get enough of the views from our windows. Our room had a small radio that played beautiful French piano music as we entered. We loved it so much that we kinda listened to that radio all the time we were in the Hotel. Old Quebec is very pretty and the hotel does justice by serving the most delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner...the French style! We went during the summer and we loved walking the cobbled streets from Quartier Petit Champlain to Le Château Frontenac to La Citadelle de Québec. The price was a bit on the higher side but I think the views and the facilities did justice to it. I don't think you get room service...or maybe you do...I never tried :) This place definitely deserves multiple visits and Port Royal will be my choice for sure

There was nothing that bothered us really. If I'm nitpicking, I'd say the room size could've been a bit larger

The room was spacious for a family of 3 and very comfortable. There was only one working light in the bathroom, so it was challenging to see at times. The location was superb, with lots of shops and restaurants in close walking proximity. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There was also parking on site, which is rare, so convenient!

I didn't like that there was a man smoking in the entryway to the building across from the main hotel, where we were staying. He had all of his luggage (4 bags) on the steps and made no effort to move to accommodate us entering the building (in the pouring rain). He was blowing smoke in our faces, gross!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is great - walking distance from the Old Town and the Ferry port. There are also many restaurants nearby providing a good choice of various cuisine options. Room was very spacious, with a kitchenette, sofa, and functional wardrobes.

There was ongoing construction on the parking in front of the hotel - the access was a bit difficult (especially for people with larger luggage) - through the auxiliary door. In my room there was no power outlet easy available next to the bed - I had to move the night stand and disconnect one night lamp to be able to charge my devices conveniently.
