I loved everything! The hotel is much bigger than it looks from the front and our room was quirky and comfy. I especially noticed how fabulous the pillows feel - suspect they're goose down. A super soft topper on the mattress was also supremely comfy. The bathroom was generously sized with a cupboard unit where I could stash my cosmetics. The shower had a rain shower head and a lower head that you can hand hold. The staff were so helpful and friendly - my phone charging plug decided it wouldn't work but a young bar man found the right charging lead so I could charge it near the bar. It is a busy place and it was lovely to see a venue used by locals and visitors alike - all cheerful and friendly too. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed that too. If you can't get a space in the George carpark then there's masses of free parking in the vicinity. Good breakfast was included in the tariff. Easingwold is absolutely gorgeous. The marketplace is so pretty and there's many stunning buildings and lots of original cobbles. A beautiful place to stay!

There was nothing to dislike. It was a wonderful couple of days away.

The location was lovely, and the pub itself was decorated beautifully. The room was much bigger than we expected with a really nice bathroom. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a good variety of options, and was served by very friendly staff. Loved the little welcome pack with some biscuits and hot chocolate. We really enjoyed our weekend away, and enjoyed eating in the restaurant in the evening too.

In the mornings we could hear music coming from downstairs which seemed to be turned on about 8am. Also the window in our room was very stiff and hard to open, which made the room feel a bit stuffy.

We’re do I begin we drove into the beautiful village of easingwold which has a small green opposite the hotel and has a market square which has stalls each month There is free parking on the square opposite the hotel but you can also park at the back of the hotel which has a small car park for about 6 cars We entered the hotel through the main door of the pub to be greeted by beautiful decorated bar and cheerful receptionist Our room was at the back of the hotel which was a small annex and consisted of a block of 5 inside the room was very spacious and even had a fridge and a fan if required the bathroom was spacious and shower was great I would advise anyone to eat at the restaurant as the food is to a high standard and very reasonably priced and so are the drinks staying here was an absolute pleasure and your were always greeted with a smile which costs nothing but means everything Finally there are buses to york which are frequent and the buses stop is opposite the hotel

Our lovely and spotless room (which appeared freshly decorated) was very spacious. The room was in an annex type terraced extension alongside the parking space which suited us as we were there with our classic car. This might not suit others as should the weather be inclement means a few yards walk outside to the main block. The main hotel/bar area has a lovely cosy atmosphere and is cleverly 'split' into separate areas. It's traditional features and it's decoration adds to this feeling.

Evening meal and breakfast excellent, both food and service. Rooms clean and comfortable. Location at centre of Easingwold was ideal, as this is possibly our favourite small town in England, and were pleased to introduce our daughters to it, and patronise local businesses as well as the George.

Our arrival was somewhat chaotic, as there was no clear point or person to report into, the bar being very very crowded. We were disappointed to find on being shown to our room that the heating was not turned on, and we were not shown how to operate the bathroom heater. Having found out for ourselves how to do this the heater was very effective. Our own room was somewhat tired and dated in terms of decor, and had one or two minor maintenance issues in bathroom - shelf hanging off wall, toilet flush handle in wrong position. However these minor faults were more than compensated for by the above.

The hotel is situated in the centre of the village, entertainment was on, we booked full board, we started with lunch before given our key to the the lunch and evening meal was good the service was good polite friendly professional, The room was comfortable clean tidy and modern,

What was really disappointing was the breakfast, Served on cold plates, we had to get our beans reheated up, what surprised me, the waitress agreed with us, the breakfast was served on cold plates, the vegen meal was tasteless, What worried me was the bathroom, it was nice design, clean tidy, the problem is the shower, nice but no safety rail, as I slipped a few times,

All the staff in reception and the restaurant were really excellent- extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast - good but more fresh fruit might be an improvement and for it to be made clear one could have fruit compote as a starter (it was delicious!) Dinner - beautiful food, very tasty.

1) Although a member of staff helpfully tried to adjust the television in my room, it still didn’t work well 2) Initially I couldn’t get hot water to come through into the shower - either faulty or needs clarification with some instructions

The food was wonderful. Generous portions and very well prepared. The room was spacious, comfortable and well maintained. The.bed was softer than I am used to, but was extremely comfortable. I cannot praise the staff enough. From the cheerful ladies at the start of the day at breakfast time, to the attentive and obliging staff at dinner time, all were, without fail helpful, friendly and courteous.

Having to eventually leave! I can't think of any reason not to return.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size and modern in a classic way. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brilliant - lots of choice. We parked on the street opposite the pub, but there’s also ample parking in the market square.

Unfortunately our room (3) was right over the main bar. We expected noise, but there was a speaker right under our room and although in the bar the music was not loud it was in our room. Also when the staff were resetting the chairs at the end of the night we heard every single one scrape across the floor. The bed was on the soft side (personal taste). We would stay again, but next time would book a room in the annexe at the back.

Really fabulous stay. Lovely rooms, individually decorated, friendly staff, and great meals (dinner & breakfast). I understand it's under a recent management change, and boy does it show. Really friendly and a superb place to stay in the heart of Easingwold.

Price quoted on booking.com changed when being transferred. Tried it a second time and same thing happened. Screen captured, purchased, sent to Booking.com. They "could not recreate" (surprise surprise), so did nothing. Hotel reports that this is not the first report. Check it may be cheaper to book direct.
