The property was conveniently located halfway along the FL keys in Marathon, enabling us to more easily visit a variety of parks, beaches, restaurants, and tourist attractions in the area. Porkys restaurant next door has the best baby back Ribs ever along with a miniature golf course. Also located next door is Legendary jet skis which offers great jet ski tours of the FL keys. Located nearby is the 7 mile bridge which provides for a nice evening stroll as the sun sets over the horizon. We got the Osprey Apt which had a deck on the back where we could have breakfast and look out over the marina and water. One morning we saw dolphins swimming by as we sat on the veranda for breakfast. That was a special treat!

The only thing I didn’t like isn’t a complaint about the property itself, but rather about pallets that were stacked on the peninsula next to the marina which blocked some of the beauty of the sunset view. Other than that, it was awesome!

Our 2 apartments were large and clean. The Marlin had an excellent location on the water, a well-stocked kitchen, and the staff provided our requested rollaway bed--there was plenty of room to set it up. We arrived with our groceries, cooked dinner, ate in and played games. I especially liked that we could use kayaks. It was a bit windy, but we were still able to kayak --and "bird island" near the resort is worth a kayak trip --so many species of birds, and iguanas. My kids saw sea turtles swimming also. The resort is very close to the 7-mile bridge and we had our own bikes, but the resort also has bikes you can ride. You can ride on the pedestrian/biker bridge but only for 2 miles.

We should've stayed 2 nights here b/c when we arrived at 3 pm for check-in, it was too late to kayak, and then we had to check out the next morning by 10 am. So we enjoyed a morning kayak, but we had to check out of the room prior to going and then we didn't have the room afterward to change. The kitchen in the Garden-view apartment was okay, but needs a few more kitchen utensils and appliances --like a cutting board. I would recommend that the resort change its checkout time to 11 am.

There are about 10 buildings each painted some outrageous fun color and there are two upper floor and two ground floor rooms in each building. Ours had a very large apt frig with freezer and capability to make ice, a microwave, large trash can and a table with two chairs. Really nice little set up. The shower was large, (no tub) and tiled and there were plenty of towels on hand (without asking for more). The two double beds were comfy with loads of pillows, and there were two big windows which opened for air and fun (no screens needed I guess). There was free mini golf, and kayak use and bike use but we didn't use any. Starbucks is in the same building as the shop/office. It is on the west end of the marathon town which was wonderful to travel to Key West which was our destination. There are a lot of dive shops, restaurants etc in Marathon which were good.!

On arrival it was REALLY COLD and had a perfumy smell which I didn't care for - not just cleaning material smell but it may have masked that. We immediately opened the big big windows and turned off the A/C and eventually had a more reasonable temp in the room. I suppose some like a freezing room but it wasn't me! There were two terrific blankets in the bureau. Pretty pricey at $162 a night. I think I made a mistake booking and it should have been $50 a night cheaper but that was my careless ness with the booking app.

We loved our stay at Captain Pip's. The location was perfect-close to many restaurants, gift shops, and 7 mile bridge. Our room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was small, but the shower was nice. The gift shop was nice, the bicycles and kayaks were fun, and we loved the colorful buildings. The kids used the pool and had a great time. The staff was always very friendly and helpful, especially the guys helping with the bicycles and kayaks. We would definitely stay here again.

The bathroom sink is very small and there is no counter space. There are hooks in the bedroom, but a few in the bathroom would be helpful. We couldn't get the TV to stay connected to streaming service and several lightbulbs were out, but we were not in our room much so we didn't worry about it. I didn't like the memory foam mattress.

Convenient and offers a good amount of on site amenities and activities

The overwhelming amount of stagnant rotting sea grass made paddle boarding very gross due to the smell of decomposing sea grass and the fact that trying to paddle through the collection of the sea grass is VERY difficult my friend was not able to do it at all because of a arm injury so he did not get to enjoy it . The key lime pie martini was EXTREMELY unpleasant, will not order it again from Porkys restaurant/bar

Location was great. Walking distance to 7 mile bridge. Pool was cool and refreshing. Plenty of adventures close, spirit snorkeling and plenty of boat rentals, use of kayaks. The kitchen option was awesome and well stocked with everything needed including a blender( nice touch) and coffee machine and bed was really comfortable and rooms stayed nice and cool.

Room did have some maintenance issues, kayak ramp little hard to using being older person would be nicer with a ramp style launch/ load for kayaks.

it was a cute little apartment with an amazing view and deck. it was clean and the ac’s worked. there was even a grill. staff was friendly and it was nice to receive a call that i can do an early check in at no extra charge. i also liked how they had paddle boarding and kayaking included as some of the amenities included in the price.

i didn’t like how there was a bbq grill so we got excited and went to buy meat at winn dixie but once we got back and turned the grill on the it turns out there was no gas so we called maintenance and they said they’re sorry but they wouldn’t be able to get more propane until the following morning. it was disappointing because we were excited to cook on the grill

We had a spacious floor apartment overlooking marina so the view from our breakfast table was amazing. The place was clean and fully functional with a dated furniture that gave it a bit of cuban-floridan vibe. The location was especially convenient as we took a sunset snorkeling cruise with Captain Pip's as well and the depart point was right in front of our windows.

The marina can get busy very early in the morning so we had people watching us in the apart waking up (you can still use the blinds to cover the windows and sit in the dark).

This property was just what what we wanted: Clean, good location, good value : free water amenities with stay : ) We rode the free bikes on a bridge where we saw rays on the way to Pigeon Island. We paddled the free kayaks to the island that the property overlooks and saw tons of wildlife.

We liked everything. NOTE: don't expect LUXURY, this is more like glamping...Clean and a great value, but not new and shiny. Hope you enjoy it like we did!!
