We have stayed in the villas here several times before and this one was as lovely and clean as ever, and the gardens were beautiful. However the little touches that have made this place special were not there this time. There was no welcoming bottle of wine or bowl of fruit, their signature lavender toiletries have been replaced by generic ones, and there were no vanity packs also very limited supplies of teas ( only two sachets and three choices) and coffee.

The restaurant and choice of menu was disappointing, in particular the lack of vegetarian choice, just one poor option. The length of time we had to wait to be served was also not acceptable, by the time it came to dessert we gave up. We were very disappointed as we have always enjoyed top quality meals in Franschhoek on our previous visits. Breakfasts were served at a different location which was lovely, however the choice of fruits and pastries on the buffet breakfast were very limited.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Franschoek Country House and Villas. The staff were all absolutely excellent, so friendly and helpful and a real plus point. The pool area was lovely and we enjoyed breakfast each morning which offered a great selection. We just had the basic rooms, which were very spacious, but as these rooms in particular are older, don't expect all mod-cons. They were perfectly pleasant though. We really appreciated the hotel shuttle service which was very efficient and made going out to dinner a breeze.

Air conditioning unit in the bedroom was quite noisy. We had rooms in the building above the restaurant and it could be quite noisy early in the morning with lots of banging around from staff, even though breakfast isn't served here.

The Suites are everything you want, comfortable, quiet & clean. Breakfast with its array of fresh fruits, breads & juices followed by an excellent omelette or poached eggs perfectly cooked is worth getting up for. The pool area is lovely, serving delicious lunches on the lawn. It is a restful setting with the wine train tootling past every half hour or so. The staff led by Bonetta are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. Monneaux Restaurant serves excellent food with tasty plates, leave room for pudding. Well worth a visit.

The staff were warm, friendly and helpful (every single one). The premises is magical! The food at Monneaux Restaurant was delicious, and combined with the ambience made for an exceptional evening. Breakfast served the next morning had the perfect variety, was fresh and the cooked breakfast was so hot (straight from the pan to the table). AND HOT COFFEE!! Everything was perfect. It was dreadful to get in the car and return to the real world.

The fact that we had to go home.

Close to the town. Lovely setting, comfortable rooms. Exceptional staff. Staff were so helpful. They set up a WhatsApp message and do free picks up and drops off, & offered local restaurant recommendations and attractions advice.

Bathroom had no heater to keep towels dry.

The staff were great, no request was too small. The breakfast was amazing, and while the pools were small, the drinks by the pool were a great touch. The Monneaux restaurant was also wonderful.

The sofa bed in our villa could do with a new mattress as it wasnt very comfortable. The actual bed was great though.

Central location well positioned for the village and surrounding wine estates. Friendly and helpful staff make every effort to make you feel welcome. Relaxing environment with very good food and wine. Comfortable room. Free shuttle service to and from local restaurants is a bonus. We were allowed the use of a room for late departure free of charge.

Nothing not to like but Booking.com lists a fitness centre in the facilities. There is no fitness centre. Could be important to guests.

We really enjoyed our stay at Franschhoek Country House & Villas. It was everything we expected coming and more - the staff here were especially friendly and hospitable. The pool area is lovely and service was excellent. The only issue we had was the location as it is slightly out of Franschhoek - the hotel makes up fore this with an easy shuttle service which will bring you to and from everywhere and usually available at pretty quick notice. However it did bring some limitations vs. staying more central. Overall not a major issue and would highly recommend this to people planning a food and wine tour of the area!

Great location just out of the town but the hotel were more than happy to run us into the town for our event. Stunning views from this hotel. After a first night hiccup with the room almost immediately and without any fuss kindly sorted out by Kyle one of the managers, everything else was truly amazing, especially the room and more importantly (to us anyway), the Staff were wonderful from Kyle as previously mentioned to our favorite host and hostess at the restaurant Nerbert & Lizette, who were just a joy, even if Lizette seemed permanently cold :-) They really couldn't do enough for us and the same goes to Bonita in Housekeeping. They were all smiles and attentive throughout our stay and this hotel is most definitely one we will stay at again on our next visit. A real touch of luxury, with pristine gardens. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

We spent 4 days of our honeymoon at this wonderful hotel and couldn't be happier. The room was so clean and comfy, the pool was luxurious, the staff are the most kind and helpful you could ask for, the view from our balcony over the pool was bliss. The breakfast was truly delicious and the couples massages were amazing. And the location is great for getting to the wine tram. We absolutely loved every minute of our stay, thank you!

It wasn't an issue for us, but the hotel is slightly closer to the road than we realised but this didn't interrupt our stay at all.
