It felt like the staff there should start a hospitality training business or something, because they were absolutely incredible. Knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful. The first one made us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed and were fully settled. The second one was amazing and let my partner and I stay in the lovely, homely living room to have complimentary tea and pastries. We were then shown to the beautiful private garden to chill out before we set off. There was no rushing us away after check out. The guest house itself is stunning, and gives you that warm home feeling. The room and bathroom was spacious. Everything was perfect.
The fact we weren't allowed to move in and live there!

The Ayrlington is an excellent bed and breakfast hotel. The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was very good and the staff serving very attentive, The quality and variety of the breakfast was excellent, the eggs royale was especially good. It is an easy, 15 minute walk to the town centre, where there are lots of restaurants to choose from to eat an evening meal, or visit the attractions. The map issued by the receptionist on our arrival was very useful, we gathered that not all hotels were as attentive to their visitors needs. This is especially useful as the tourist information centre has been closed.
The entrances to the carpark were obscured by tour buses parked at times, ( not all times and only certain times of the day). This is not something that the hotel can do anything about and it certainly would not be a reason not to use the hotel.

We stayed in a premium suite, which was quite spacious and offered additional areas of leisure such as a sun patio and access to the courtyard. It offered parking which was incredibly useful for the area. It was located in a great spot to walk to the central Bath spots of interest. The suite as a whole, and the bathroom especially, had elevated comfort amenities which were fun and enjoyable. The full English breakfast was nice.
The motorized skylight shade was extremely loud and sounded in need of maintenance. The door to the outdoor patio was hard to open and in need of adjustments. You can't make external phone calls from the room phones.

Location is excellently situated for walking into Bath. The staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and food recommendations. The room was very good, it was a little hot when we went but there was a fan in the room. The bathroom in particular was fantastic, the shower phenomenal. There was a garden and good parking. We were on the top floor but was fine to walk up them. Seemed fairly quiet and windows that could open
the towel rail was on all the time and wasn't able to be turned down, i think it was broken. The staff did say they would take a look at it but it was still dangerously hot when we left.

The rooms were luxurious - more so than expected for the price. Had it not been so wet, the outside areas would have been lovely to sit out in.
Just a tiny bit intense regarding the parking, but I kind of understand as they want to ensure everyone who wants a park can get one. Also just a wee hiccup night one in that we had asked for twin beds and the joined up twin beds hadn't been separated, the person working felt it would have been a challenge to separate them and change the sheets etc as she was the only one on duty in reception. However, they were twin beds essentially joined together, so we managed.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a good value for money ratio. It was the ideal location for us: between the charming city of Bath and the university campus.
In our opinion, the room deserves a small refreshment: although it was clean, there were some small "downgrades", like a degrading skirting board, a loose plug, corners of wallpaper coming off, and curtains not so fresh anymore. One the one hand, it has its charm given the classical building, but on the other hand, some modernization is perhaps in order to restore the building in its original glory.

The place was lovely, great room and goos location.
When parking my car a women who worked there asked me to straighten it up and said she would direct me. She promptly directed me into a concrete planter box which was on the passenger side and couldnt be seen by me. Her response? You hit our planter box. Cost me 1000 pounds to repair and they had the nerve to charge me for parking. It really spoiled a beautiful spot.

Great location, friendly staff, nice room, big bathroom with lovely bath, comfortable bed. Perfect for my one night stay whilst visiting my daughter at uni as only 5 mins drive from campus and easy walk into town for dinner.
My room (top floor room) was exceptionally cold despite radiators being on. It was a very cold night but when I left the room the corridors etc were toastie so perhaps it just needs looking at or an extra heater installed. I wore my hat in bed!

The location was perfect, within 10 minutes walk of Bath City centre. Our room was large and comfortable and my request for a twin room was granted, which was useful as I was travelling with my 19 year old son. We were able to park our car on site safely.
It wasn't clear when booking that I would have to pay £10 extra, per night,to park the car. My understanding of the information I read, was that the car parking for actual guests was included in the room cost. The bulb in my bedside light was a harsh white whilst the the one beside my son's bed was a much nicer warm white.

Location was perfect for walking into the centre of Bath. Stayed in the Bamboo room and had very pleasant external views. Bathroom was a lovely big size and the shower was excellent.
Having to pay an extra £10 for parking, feel this should be included in the room rate especially when there is the possibility of your car getting blocked in. The room needed a little bit of TLC - nothing major but things such as curtains hanging off in the bedroom, rusty radiator etc
