Excellent location with parking, fantastic staff, comfortable rooms and a great pub. Easy access to the town via a bus, a couple of other pubs are nearby if you want other dining options, we stayed on a Monday night where the pub was closed for meals so a short walk down the street was another pub which was open. We did eat at the Lord Byron the following night and it was busy, the meals delicious and generously portioned. Breakfast was great with lots of options. The hotel rooms are dated but very clean, spacious and comfortable. Overall the Lord Byron is great value for money option and we would stay here again with no hesitation.

Nothing to really complain about, there was no fridge in our room, but the staff held medication for us in their fridge which was great.

Staff lovely price of hotel and bar prices good also, plus we like the location as it's a nice walk into Cambridge and Grantchester. Breakfast was okay but not a big choice to be honest.

They have improved the Byron, but it could do with a lick of paint in the bar area and it needs re plastering in places. We stayed in room 2, and would love to know if staff members live above the Annexe as the stomping around the room and what sounded as though heavy things where being dropped was deafening at times. If staff do live above in the Annexe please give consideration to visitors below especially when it happens at 2.30am

Free car parking, nice beer garden ( and some sun) Accomodation in a block a covered walkway from the actual pub, so quiet and easy to sleep. Good beer, good pub food, very good staff, and an excellent breakfast £ miles form the places we needed to get to for our weekend activities - all was good!

Pub not as busy as I thought it would be on a friday night, so atmosphere a bit lacking, but lovely puc , good service but would here have been enough staff if busy though?? Quite a wait for breakfast next morning once order had been taked. It did mean that everything was cooked fresh, but it took 40 mins, and the egg was a bit dry, so I wonder if there was some batch cooking and keeping warm in the kitchen going on although it apeared every order was cooked to order. good job we were not on a tight schedule for morning activities. 8.30-9.30 a bit of a short window - would have thought on a saturday, an 8am start would not have been too much to ask.

Both the breakfast and the bar food available in the evening were very sufficient and well cooked. The staff were all friendly, efficient and attentive. The room could hardly have been bettered and the beds were very comfortable.

There were just one or two minor drawbacks about the room : as there were two of us, it would have been useful to have had a second chair ; a simple instruction sheet detailing the operation of the air conditioning, the bathroom extraction fan, etc. would have been helpful ; there was one switched, double socket of which one socket did not work nor did the switch operate. We have informed the Manager of these items.

The Lord Byron a 17th Century Pub in Trumpington, Cambridge. We stayed here on 26th to 28th September 2024. The pub itself is quirky and has a lot of interesting historical photographs and artefacts. The bar boasts a good range of beers and wines. The bar manager, Harry, was very knowledgeable of the real ales. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful and they really made our stay a pleasant experience. The food was nicely presented and the menu offered a good range of dishes, including vegan/vegetarian. The modern accommodation block is separate to the main pub and is clean and comfortable. The location is excellent if you want to visit Duxford Air Museum, or the Cambridge American Cemetery & Memorial. You aren’t far from the City Centre so this is a great location. It benefits from plenty of off road parking. I consider the food and accommodation great value for money. We can highly recommend the Lord Byron for a short stay in Cambridge

I honestly cannot think of anything oh I can no FREE beer

Very oldie worldie property. Some of it still in keeping with period built. The rooms are situated on ground level outside of the property so no stairs or lifts to contend with. Very clean room. Basic furniture with a very comfortable bed. Clean toilet and shower with sparkling white towels. Our room was tidied everyday and refreshments restocked. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is great for Park and Ride into Cambridge. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Locals use it and that says a lot.

The gardens needed abit of a tidy up but it didn’t spoil our stay.

Very good breakfast with choices and freshly cooked to our liking. The bedroom accommodated a large bed and was very clean/comfortable - tea/ coffee facilities also. It was situated fairly close by taxi to the Railway Station and a short bus ride into Cambridge. The staff were very friendly.

The tables felt very sticky however we were assured they were clean; the whole building is very tired looking and in parts in a state of disrepair. The outside of the building needed maintenance the gardens were untidy. I had expected it to be a little more upmarket given the Name of the Inn…..?

location was great, easy to get into Cambridge. The staff were amazing, friendly, chatty, and really helpful. We had an amazing evening meal and breakfast. The location was really quiet, which suited us, we thought we were the only guests because no neighbour noise, but actually they were sold out. A very warm and friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room, the super king bed was so comfy.

The property, externally did look like it needed a little tlc,but appearances are deceptive, the welcome we received was so warm and friendly, the accommodation was clean and very comfortable.

Good size car park. Checking in was easy and fast, the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. There is an air conditioning unit in the room that also heats - that was a bonus as it got quite cold the night we stayed. The bed was very large and comfortable. A lovely large covered area outside where we got to chat with some of the locals who were all very friendly. The food, oh the food, was phenomenal and quite reasonably priced. The breakfast was equally impressive and more than we could eat.

The room was clean but the shower head was mouldy, which sadly is not unusual for lots of the places we have stayed. It only took me a minute to clean it, but that's not the point. Also, the bathroom door catch did not work so the door did not stay shut and the hinges made a dreadful screeching noise. In the middle of the night, it sounded like a train making an emergency stop! It is a real shame that those points stood out when the rest of the stay was excellent.

When we arrived we were immediately made to feel welcome. Staff were really helpful and friendly They told us the times for evening meals and breakfast and took us to our room. The rooms are in a block just to the side of the Inns garden, which was a nice location for a drink before the evening meal. The meal was served promptly and was really nice. If you're a real ale drinker they had a good selection available on our visit, and the Inn has a lovely selection of separate areas to sit, including window seating and more quieter areas in what I can only call a well kept historical pub. With lovely couch seating by the fireplace. In all we had a lovely evening. Breakfast was lovely, full English, and a vegetarian option available and served by attentive staff

I can honestly say that I can't find anything I didn't like about our stay there
