Facilities were really good, they even had a white noise machine! Super central to Edinburgh, we were basically in the middle of the xmas market! Staff were very approachable. We even got a free hot drink voucher from the cafe in the building. They recommended venues and locations for us to explore, and allowed us to store our bags so we could enjoy our final day without carrying them. Overall, it is a really positive experience, well worth what you pay!

(Really pulling at straws here) but we had a lower ground room which didn't have great built in lighting, but did come with lots of lamps to brighten up the space!

The staff were super friendly and helpful with every request we had. The cafe at the lobby had good coffee and pastries. Not to forget the way they communicate with you through WhatsApp about any issue or questions, how fast and easy they make it is something super convenient. Just absolutely love the place!

The corner we were in had noise when disposing the garbage. Also it had a lot of oil and cooking smell since we were that side of our stay. Although, once we addressed our issue they did change our rooms the next day to a better place (no noise and bad smell).

While we were only a 10 minute walk mostly through the park all flat until the last 5 minutes into the Royal Mile - this studio apartment (two modest sized rooms (bedroom/bath and kitchen/sitting area) was delightfully one block north of Princes St near the "Castle end" without the bustling crowds of tourists, buses, trams of Princes St. Coffee shop reception area with nice elevators and lots of extra touches: yoga mat, spare top sheet, well supplied kitchenette, washer/dryer, and Dyson fan. Extremely helpful staff 24/7 on front desk with good suggestions and quick action when we had a stuck window. This small space put us on an upscale shopping street with pubs and restaurants steps away.

Request a quiet room if noise from a nearby restaurant in a shared courtyard bothers you - but the thick windows and fan took care of most of it.

The room was quite dark, with a single window on a courtyard shared with a club/bar which can be quite noisy (the isolation from the window is pretty good). The room’s light are too bright in terms of kelvin - 6k - they should have something around 1-2k to make the place “cozy”. The rooms on the street side might be a better match with the picture present on booking.com

The space was well designed with everything we needed. The wifi was excellent. Location was perfect, within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Staff was very friendly and responsive to our requests (i.e. a drying rack for clothes was brought up within minutes).

The lack of natural light in the room. We had to have a light on, even in the middle of the day (our room was on the first floor and looked out onto buildings). The little cafe downstairs was good, but would only take credit card. We were trying to use up various bits of cash, but could not even pay for a cup of coffee with it. We needed an extra night prior to our booking because of a storm. It was difficult to arrange with the numbers given to call and the website..until we actually found a number for the physical location. They helped us within minutes!

Love the decor and the setup of the room. It was really nice to have a washing machine and refrigerator, etc. Location was fantastic as well!

Street parking was all that was available and was quite expensive. I wouldn't recommend bringing a car to this location, but that's our issue. It was quite noisy outside the one night so you could hear everything, but they have a white noise machine in the room which unfortunately someone had taken the cord for it so I had to use my own which meant I couldn't charge my phone at the same time. Overall, it's a great hotel and a great location.

I adored my stay! The apartment was cozy, comfortable and so inviting that it was hard to leave the hotel to do some sightseeing on dreary days :D the staff was also so kind and helpful and always ready to help out if I had questions about the apartment or sightseeing in Edinburgh! Dani and Sara especially were such gems (even left me a little something for my birthday!) but the entire staff was nothing but sweet! The apartment also had all the amenities you need (a special shoutout to the dishwasher and washing mashine tabs so you don't have to buy a huge package when only staying for a week) and amazing floor heating. I can't wait to come back 🥰

We had a lovely room on the fourth floor which was really quiet. It was south facing so it had lovely natural light. The apartment is more like a studio, very compact. The bed was really comfortable. It was quite warm so we kept the windows open during the day which helped regulate the temperature for night time. It really was so quiet, we had no trouble sleeping. The location of the property is excellent, so close to the town centre with lots of nice restaurants and shops nearby. It is also quite close to Stockbridge which is a lovely area to explore. The girls at reception are so lovely especially Kate, she was so friendly and dropped up a lovely bottle of prosecco to us for my birthday, we also got complimentary late check out (until 1pm) for my birthday which was great as our flight home wasn't until that night.

The pillows weren't very comfortable. The cafe downstairs can be quite busy so best to stock up your kitchen and cook your own breakfast if you are after a quick breakfast in the morning.

Reception was in a section of a busy cafe and this provided a great vibe as well as coffee and refreshments. The apartment while in the city (New Town) was quiet with great facilities including a washer dryer and full fridge. Our apartment had a lovely view with windows across a wall allowing for natural light. Bathrooms were spacious as was the apartment itself. There were a number of good eateries around the location and the apartment was a comfortable walking distance to Old Town and the castle.

Parking was offsite at a city carpark so we did check on the car regularly and had to facilitate luggage transfer. However, this was compensated with a substantial discount on the cost of the parking.

Location was literally perfect for us, and for the price, it was great. Staff was so nice and accommodating, they easily moved us to a different room when our first had issues. Overall, good experience.

This is the third Locke hotel we've been to now (Munich & Dublin), and this one just felt a bit more cramped and dark. The layout of our first room was confusing, a big wall keeping any natural light from the bed which made it feel very cave-y and less pleasant than other experiences we've had. The room was so small we could hardly lay out our suitcases.
