Very charismatic building. Tastefully and skilfully refurbished with many original historic features kept in order. Excellent breakfast. Very good bath tube! Very helpful and professional reception staff. Good location. Charming cat! We would definitely be pleased to stay there again.

Issues in the bathroom: 1) One of the taps on the bath was leaking. 2) Toilet seat was not held in place properly. 3) no door lock in the bathroom/toilet Issues in the room: TV with no working TV channels whatsoever (broken apparently) - luckily streaming from the phone worked, no door lock or bolt/security chain on the entrance door The cleaner knocked on the door in the morning long before checkout time despite the "do not disturb" sign displayed.

Intriguing property, beautifully furnished, fantastic location. Service was fast and efficient. Windows could be opened.

Tea and coffee making facilities were not provided, but they were brought on request and replenished daily. Having fresh milk was wonderful. The trouble is that they were brought, complete with full tea set, on large trays that teetered on small round tables. Because everything had to be ordered in and then balanced on antique furniture, and staff always looked slightly anxious, we agreed this is not a place to go to relax and unwind.

Old English charm, super close to Farrington subway station, safe and walkable and quiet area, very friendly and helpful staff at all hours of the day, honest bar was unique and enjoyable.

Toilet flushed was on a long hanging chain, no rhyme or reason on how to get it to flush and often took several minutes to get it working, staff did not warn us it was an issue but when I brought it up later offered to move us to a new room. There is a bath but no shower. Full sized beds are really small especially if you are not used to it. Sink space is very small, no room to put any toiletries.

Everything. The history, the comfort, the service, and the overall feel of the hotel. I particularly enjoyed breakfast being delivered to the room each morning (small note here, the breakfast wasn't included in the cost of the room but was very reasonably priced). The shared guest areas were very well presented and comfortable. Other guests must have thought so too. There was always someone about enjoying breakfast, afternoon tea, or just an evening drink. Finally, the hotel cat was a lovely surprise. She was very friendly and gave the hotel a real homely feel.

I liked everything.

Was great for a treat, went on the trip for a couple of nights to spoil myself. Bed was super comfortable, bath tub was excellent for relaxing, food and room service top notch, every staff member was lovely

Soundproofing could use some work, there were sounds from the street in the early hours of the morning (Saturday night in London, what are you going to do, to be fair) plus there was another guest in a nearby room who had a terrible cough that kept me awake all the first night there

Good location very close to two Tube Stations and therefore convenient for where else I wanted to be. Beautifully appointed boutique hotel. Very comfortable bed. Staff always obliging and helpful.

V little natural light in my room which also had dark walls and dark wood panelling and a bathroom which was down a staircase in the room, but all added to quirky nature of the place, I suppose; no dining room was odd but room service was good and honesty bar was very trusting

My recent six-night stay at this exquisite hotel was nothing short of remarkable, leaving me with an indelible impression of its unique character and the impeccable hospitality it extends. From the moment I stepped through the front door, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of refined elegance, reminiscent of a bygone era. The hotel's interiors exude a captivating blend of historical charm and contemporary comfort, with polished wooden floors, antique furnishings, and artwork adorning the walls. My room, a haven of plush comfort, was a symphony of textures and colors. The soft, draped curtains framed a view of the bustling city streets below, while the antique four-poster bed beckoned with its promise of restful slumber. Every detail, from the crisp linens to the well-stocked minibar, exuded an air of refined luxury. The hotel's location, in the heart of Farringdon, was simply ideal. Within a short stroll, I found myself immersed in the neighborhood's vibrant energy, surrounded by a diverse array of restaurants, cafes, and shops. The proximity to Farringdon Station provided effortless access to the rest of London, allowing me to seamlessly explore the city's iconic landmarks and hidden gems. The hotel's staff who truly elevated my stay to an exceptional level. Each member of the team exuded warmth, professionalism, and a genuine desire to ensure my utmost comfort. Their attentiveness to my needs was unparalleled, from arranging transportation to recommending local attractions.

Great service, and very comfortable venue with lots of cozy spaces. We enjoyed the sense of homeyness throughout our stay, and it was of course pretty awesome getting to have time with the house cat!

So many of the furnishings, towels, bathrobes and bedding were of very high quality. I could really tell that a lot of thought went into all the selections. My one problem was that I found the mattress way to firm for me. As a side sleeper, I needed a bit more give in order to be comfortable, and as a result I often woke with sore shoulders and hips in the morning.

Absolutely stunning hotel, quirky and individual. Our room was right at the top of the building (room was called Sophie Rood) with a gorgeous c18th bed, and furniture, fabulous rolltop bath and handheld showerhead, and was surprisingly spacious. There was no sound despite being opposite Smithfield market, sound proofing was great. Local area is interesting, with lots of cafes and restaurants. We enjoyed Tettos on the Clerkenwell Road. Hotel had lots of nooks and crannies with squishy sofas, log fires and honesty bars. We had room service breakfasts both mornings and they catered for my gluten free needs. We also had room service dinner one night, which was tasty and reasonably priced. No kettle in room but they sent up a tea and coffee tray on request. Staff were lovely, friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. Far more personable than a big chain hotel and the hotel cat was an added bonus! Bed was comfy, good quality bedding, and decent sized towels! Three minute walk from Farringdon tube, £12 taxi from Kings Cross. Taxis were frequent along the main road, two minutes away.

Nothing really. All good. Be aware there is no lift (we knew) and we were on 3rd floor, so be prepared for stairs :-)

It’s one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed in. Full of characters. And location is super convenient if you travel from Heathrow. Elizabeth line connects to central London effortlessly. The bed was super comfy. The staff were so nice and remembered me from my past stay.

There were a few nights when I could hear people speaking or singing loud on the street but guess that comes with Christmas and NYE holiday.
