The location between the Wellington Hotel and the Waterloo station was incredible. I was able to walk out the door, cross the street, and in about 2 minutes, be in the station. The hotel was also in a good location. Just a short 15 minute walk to central London, with beautiful sites to see on the way. The staff was awesome! Greeted you as soon as you walked in. The breakfast was a nice added bonus! The single bed room was perfect for my needs, with complimentary goodies on the table and in the fridge. The bathroom was a great size as well. Shower with soap and shampoo/conditioner dispensers on the wall. Will definitely book a room here again!

The location opposite Waterloo station is perfect for the national theatre which is why we were in London. The staff were friendly. I was concerned about noise from the busy pub below, but didn't hear a thing once through into the hotel section. The room was modern and comfortable with excellent tea and coffee options and a mini bar. The bathroom had a rainfall shower and complimentary toiletries. There were multiple breakfast options included in the price and the full English that we had was lovely. Hotel guests also enjoy a discount in the pub on showing your room key which is a nice gesture.

It is an old building and the staircase to the rooms is narrow and winding, which could present a problem with larger bags or cases. The windows are single glazed but have secondary glazing installed which does a remarkable job of keeping the street noise out, however if you want to sleep with the window open, be mindful that it is situated on a busy road next to a large railway hub. I'd recommend ear plugs for those who aren't used to city noise.

The staff here were all exceptional - so helpful, kind, polite and genuinely wonderful human beings - from the bar/reception staff to the cleaners. Their kindness and friendliness made it such a pleasant stay. Despite the train noises in the background that is audible from the room it actually wasn’t that loud - once the window is closed and with the use of earplugs (they even provided a foam pair in the room) I slept soundly both nights. Breakfast was great and the staff there were also amazing; I had an allergy and explained to the chef who very kindly made an alternative for me. I had a single room; it was cosy and comfortable and reasonably clean (a few hairs in the shower was all I noticed but nothing serious to complain about). There were some drinks in the mini fridge I thought were for purchase but when I checked with a staff member they mentioned those were actually complimentary which is a nice touch! The side entrance accessible with key card was very useful and made getting in and out fast and pleasant as you don’t have to go through the bar again once checked in.

Checking in was a bit confusing as I arrived in the evening and the reception desk is basically an extension of the bar, and everyone was queuing to order drinks, but after a short wait I was able to get the attention of a staff member and they checked me in right away

Location. A stone's throw to the South Bank. Across the street from Waterloo underground/train station. It could not be more perfectly located if it tried. Friendly, if tried and overworked/seen-it-all staff, my heart goes out to them. Beautiful breakfast included, very good bed and linen, comfortable bed, spacious and comfortable room with all you need. Flexibility. Accepting a one-night booking on a Saturday, in Central Central London, on one day's notice, at a reasonable price. It takes some doing. I just hope that the small business persists and survives the times.

What could have been better? I don't know, I could come up with a laundry list of grievances - how is it that on my only day for ages in London, there is a bad storm? The paintwork was chipped, and whoever played football that evening on TV showing downstairs, didn't win! Please. The basics (and plentiful extras) were covered expertly, I am very grateful for a comfortable bed and a friendly smile. Thank you so much.

We stayed at the Wellington for a few days before our wedding with our wedding party before heading up to the estate - I accidentally cancelled my mother in law and sister in laws booking due to a mix up in my booking.com profile, when we learned of it the manager, Chris, jumped in to action and got them booked in to their sister hotel nearby for a discounted rate. Chris also helped us carry our bags up to it flights of stairs and allowed our few wedding party guests that weren’t staying at the Wellington with us to still come and join us for breakfast. The hotel is right across from the Wellington train station which was super convenient. Overall we had a fantastic stay at the Wellington, mainly due to the staff

There’s no lift, not really the hotels issue as it’s an old building but just something to be aware of, if you have mobility issues or a lot of luggage I would request a lower floor room

The breakfast was great! Central location, close to train and subway stations. There was a fridge, tea and coffee, water provided every day, and toiletteries. Clean, although tiny room. Living above a pub during the European football championship was very convenient to watch it, great vibes. Our room had no noise problems- we heard the trains outside which we got used to immediately and afterwards it was even a soothing sound! No sounds from the street or pub, but i guess our room was facing the other way. Earplugs were not needed.

It was hot during a heatwave, although there is a small fan that helped out with that. The room is tiny! Also there was no remote for the TV, but we downloaded an app and used that.

Chris met us in the pub and was very friendly. He booked us in earlier than the allotted time and even helped carry our suitcases up the stairs. Beers and drinks in the fridge were complimentary and also a 15% off all drinks and food was unexpected but wow, thank you. The room (15) was on the first floor and was bigger than every other room I've stayed in London. Breakfast was excellent and the food overall was excellent so we ate there every night of our 3 night stay. This is a gem of a place to stay considering the location to the tube and walking distance to a lot of what you want to see in London and will definitely stay again whenever we go back.

No complaints. There are no lifts and can be a number of stairs to your room. You know this before booking, so don't complain about it afterwards!!

The hotel is really well located, directly across from Waterloo station. Check-in was very straightforward and staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and warm (possibly too warm even!), and had all of the facilities you'd expect (tea/coffee/hairdryer). There was a good range of complimentary drinks and snacks in the room and I slept well enough - the second internal window made a huge difference to the amount of noise coming from outside and was very appreciated! I didn't have breakfast, but the spread on offer looked very good and it was nice to have the option with it being included in the room rate.

2 of the 3 lamps in the room were missing bulbs, so the lighting was a bit all or nothing. Unfortunately the pub sign was by my bedroom window and did make quite a pronounced squeaking noise that wasn't completely blocked by the internal window.

Absolutely fantastic location literally right opposite Waterloo station. Friendly helpful staff, room not noisy (apart from if fans are on), very comfy beds, pretty room with everything you need, cracking breakfast!

Only one negative - Our room was on the second floor and not sure if all the rooms are like this the higher you go but it was incredibly hot - they had provided fans and earplugs which was great (and necessary!) We cooled the room down by leaving the window open in the evening when we went out which cooled the room down nicely. We closed it to keep the noise out and then had to turn the fans on again in the middle of the night cos was roasting. Apart from that - really great stay!

The location was very good. Right next to tube for transport around the city. Lovely friendly staff.

Room was so much smaller then it looked on website. Bathroom sink very small. Could only just fit kettle under tap. Shower had two different shower heads which was great but the rainfall one was fixed and the other one didn't have a rack to put it on so struggled when using. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. The staircases are very awkward with big suitcases although they did offer to take them up for us.
