staff so friendly nice to have tea/coffee available on arrival before room ready

but cold without carpet this morning disposable crockery - not only unpleasant to eat cereal with wooden cutlery but all so bad for the environment & appeared to be all put in general waste… perhaps a recycling bin for the cardboard might be good

Very nice hotel - very friendly & helpful staff - parking was raelly an asset too. The rooms were very clean & the beds were very comfortable, & the bathrooms also clean & had plentiful hot water.

These are minor points really - the breakfast - lovely there was one, really pleased to find oat milk, but... Nescafe coffee sachets & PG tips tea bags & absence of fruit juice were a bit disappointing. Bagels were good - but no vegan-friendly spreads. & the cutlery was plastic, so a lot of waste involved. Also - no lift. These are not real dislikes - more disappointments that meant in all honesty I felt my stay was very good rather than superb.

My wife and I chose the Hazeldean for its walking distance to family we were visiting. The daily rates were very low and we we were hoping for just a safe and clean room to sleep in. We were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is an old stately building in a quiet suburban neighborhood. It is has been nicely and tastefully modernized and kept impeccably clean throughout. Our room had new soundproof windows, comfortable beds, ample outlets, lots of lighting and a modern bathroom with all new piping and plenty of hot water. The rooms were well serviced each day with coffee/tea station refreshed. An extra bonus was the included help-yourself continental breakfast with an ample selection of drinks, fruits, yoghurts, toast and waffles, etc. The front desk staff was always very helpful and one can keep luggage with them on checking in/out. Overall, a great value.

Hazeldean is a welcoming and friendly Independent hotel, modern with a homely feel. The customer service from staff was professional. a high standard often lacking in chain establishments. Room 24 cleanliness was impeccable, spacious with lots of excellent natural light. Great nights sleep. Lovely extra touches including box of tissues, toiletries, tea/ coffee. Towels were soft and in good condition. Fan in room if required and lots of sockets. Ample Parking area, well lit and covered by CCTV. Some gorgeous large windows on the stairs. Highly recommend.

All fabulous, a positive stay.

Very comfortable room which was big enough to fit all 6 of us. Very excited with the breakfast which we all enjoyed kids adn adults alike. The staff were very friendly when approached.

Things we requested in advance eg for cots or to extend our stay for another night were not dealt with. we arrived and there were no cots set up. We wanted to confirm the extra night and were told the room wasn't available however we can stay in another room in the loft. We agreed and packed up our stuff in the morning - and were then told that the room wasn't available anymore..

Beds were very comfortable and the pillows your head just sinks in. Bedroom was very spacious and clean. Towels were super soft. A small fridge provided for snacks or milk. I requested a tv and hairdryer and received it straight away. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Smiley and professional. Slept like a log. When it started to get cold the radiators came on. I was very snug. I like the fact you can just turn the radiators down or up depending on how hot or cold you u are. It was 24 hours desk service so that’s amazing if you have a festival planned or a night out.

No restaurant or bar no hot breakfast. BUT they did offer continental. For the price I wouldn’t have minded a bottle of wine for the evening and a chocolate croissant in the morning with breakfast. I popped to Aldi to get snacks and milk. Other than that amazing.

Beautiful hotel with beautiful rooms! We were so happy when we saw the size of the rooms and the nice view from the hotel rooms. We had two rooms and our own corridor/hall with the bathroom. Perfect for families traveling with kids. We had the parent bedroom and our kids the second room next to us. It felt like having an apartment inside the hotel. Everything was spotless and very clean and very comfortable beds. The staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a very quiet neighbourhood and the hotel itself very quiet which we appreciated very much. To reach the city center you need a car. We had our own car so this was no problem. The breakfast served is a self-service breakfast which was good.

Hazeldean welcomed us with smiles and a friendly face. We then went in our room (which they had put downstairs due to me previously contacting the hotel to notify them of my daughter’s mobility issues), our room was exceptional. It was well decorated , very clean, spacious and very well thought out on the layout. My daughter who has additional needs and autism and it was her first city break coming from Devon at 18years old actually told me she loved the hotel and felt at home there. For her this is a massive statement , she doesn’t settle well in most places. Aswell as the beautiful room and decor I have to also compliment the amount of parking, the ease of getting to everywhere (we drove so unsure about local transport but there were many busy stops and busses so I’m sure that would be fine), the breakfast choices for a continental breakfast were incredible. There were bagels, toast, cereal, crackers, cakes, low fat yoghurts, fromage frais, cheese, bottles of water, flavoured soya milk, milk, orange juice, tea & coffee. There really was something for everyone. The shower was also extremely powerful which is always a plus, towels, toiletries and daily housekeeping aswell.

The only fault I can pick is the shower was a little bit of a squeeze as it was a corner shower but it wasn’t anything major, I’m a bigger lady so it’s going to be a tighter squeeze for me. It just meant I was unable to help my daughter in the shower so would have had to stand outside the shower whilst occasionally opening the doors to help assist. This is being extremely picky though as there really wasn’t anything to actually complain about. Would it put me off returning? Certainly not.

Have stayed previously, ideal for when we travel to see concerts at the AO. We stayed in suite four (bedrooms 20,21,22) brilliant size ideal setup. We were very happy with the size and had so idea it slept 6 people safe to say we will be back

Unfortunately the bathroom was not at its cleanest the floor could do with a good scrub but was not the end of the world. Also the single use plastic cups located in the bathroom looked like they had already been used and just got washed out for the next guests and the paper coffee cups looked they had been sat there for months full of hair and dust. Think it would be more ideal to get real mugs for make sure they always get replaced. Also we had no milk sachets in the room at Breakfast we did realise there was milk in there but we did not realise this the day before.

We appreciate the size of the 4-bed room, the separate alcove as a dressing room was a pleasant surprise, the space with the bunk bed was visually separated. The beds were comfortable and clean. There was a set for making coffee or tea. Wifi worked without problems. The simple breakfast was a nice benefit.

Small lamps in the room and an emergency light in the bathroom that could not be turned off. Cleanliness of the bathroom (foreign hair in the shower). Very small shower cubicle.
