November 2024

I stayed here only one night in November and everything went well, the hotel is gorgeous, has a huge balcony and it is right across the street from the train station. I travelled solo, stopped here on my way from Inverness to Glasgow and quite enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and lovely, very comfy, you could set the heating to whatever temperature you like which is convenient and it was quiet so I got a good night's rest. I met a few people working at reception, they were all so nice and friendly, they gave me information on the town and the beach, they gave the place a good and pleasant vibe. They kept my luggage safe after check out, because my train was leaving later in the afternoon, so I went for a walk in the meantime. Overall, a lovely experience and I would stay here again.

The beach is a bit further away than I thought, but i didn't do any research beforehand so that's on me. I was also without a car and stayed here in late fall which probably means less busses as well. I didn't mind the walk at all, I am just sharing info so that people can better prepare and take maybe this into consideration as well. Anyway, I loved my stay here.

This is one of the best locations in the world. Paradise white beaches, no litter, no shops etc, nothing except fabulous sand and seas and the beautiful, accessible Scottish mountains and countryside. Eagles, buzzards, little birds everywhere. Great walking. Steam trains. Perfect and quiet. Hardly saw another car on good tarmac for hundreds of miles. Loch Morar at one side 12 miles long lake, the river Morar, and out the bedroom window is the sea !! So splendid you will not believe it till you see it. The Scottish Highlands in all their glory! It's a dream come true. Everyday a fab view from our window. Bluebells, deer. Lovely. Staff were lovely. Very helpful. Very attentive. Came back to you throughout a meal with more drinks and food. Nothing was too much for them. Loved the peace and tranquility both day and night. Noooo passing traffic. The large choice of dinner meals was amazing. The cooking was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Superb food all round. Fast service. Lovely meals. Some good wine, some ok wine.

Our room was small with a big bed in, so not a lot to walk about in. No bath tub as we hoped. Only a gentle shower. No lift. It was only a three star hotel tho and very economical. TV wasn't going to let us watch anything. A tad out of date for apps. Some small things didn't work like the towel rail did not get warm. It was not the end of the world but it was the beginning of heaven. All this beauty. It was a heavenly location. Lounge seating not very comfy for the days when it rained very hard and we had to stay in. But the smiling happy staff were always there when you wanted them. Always.

I was having a holiday using the "Spirit of Scotland Freedom Pass" and the hotel is right next to the railway station. There were good walks in the locality, such as around the shore of Loch Morar. The hotel was comfortable, and the food better than I expected. The views from the window were very beautiful. I was also intrigued to stay in the place where Sir Arnold Bax had written several of symphonies in the 1930s.

I thought that the drinks were pricey, but it's difficult to judge at the moment.

The staff was extremely helpful and caring. We loved to chat with Tuan and Arram who were great, both at the reception desk and for serving dinner. The food was surprisingly great, very well cooked, some recipes were original with reasonable prices. We had a delicious Ale and Pie, the crusty salmon, and chicken : they were all delicious. We had a very nice stay because the hotel was nice, comfortable, warm, and the staff was truly amazing with us. We hope they get the appreciation they deserve, and we give them a very warm thank you for making this one night a great memory as a family of three. The room (a double and a single bed) was nice, wellf furnished and the bathroom practical and clean. The bar and restaurants were great, we did not have breakfast but are sure it's lovely.

We wished we had a jug of water for dinner instead of having to go to the water fountain to fill our glasses each time.

Lovely hotel in a great location. All staff very attentive and a great dog friendly hotel. Dogs can be with their owners to eat in the lounge section but not in the restaurant which is good for non dog lovers too. Beautiful terrace with nice views over morar beach. Food is good with a nice selection- lovely steak pie and mussels excellent. Good choice for breakfast but is buffet style so best to eat early. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and were made to feel very welcome. We will return.

Bathroom was a bit chilly but it was very windy outside. Shouldn't be an issue in summer.

Sea view room so view was fantastic! Receptionist was very nice and made conversation with daughter (who hardly talks to people) thank you so much Breakfast was great, hot buffet but all freshly topped up Tv could log in to netflix (great when you have teenager) Plenty of parking Lovely restaurant / bar area with great views

Room was a little on the small side which is OK for one night, bathroom was very small struggled to get dressed, suggest a few hooks/shelf or something Room was clean and nice enough but could probably do with a refurb at some point

The hotel lies on a hill, what gives you a nice view over the loch. Rooms are comfortable. The bar and restaurant serve good food and have great service. Staff is very friendly.

Nothing to complain. Because the end of the season, it was very quiet in the hotel. Only a few rooms were occupied. I like a bit more buzzing around me but I am sure that the rest of the year it will be fine. On the other hand, because of low season, I got a free upgrade to a room with a view on the loch :-)

The hotel has been transformed over the last 4 or 5 years since I was last there, everywhere has been modernised and the decor is now much improved. The bathroom in the room is very tidy & easy to see it's clean. The staff were very welcoming and the food was brilliant as well as the service, not surprising when I found the link to the Onich Hotel which we have also stayed at on many occasions and will again in November. Thanks again to all the staff that made our stay so enjoyable.

Having to leave.

The location overlooking the silver sands and right across from the train station was great. The sea view room had the most breathtaking views of the silver sands of Morar. The beds are very comfortable and the room was clean with a newly updated bathroom. The restaurant had a good variety of food on the menu and the food was delicious as was the buffet breakfast. The staff at the hotel really went out their way to make us feel comfortable and were attentive to our needs.

There is no lift for those who have limited mobility. We had a triple room with a view of a wall.

Excellent, attentive staff... even allowed a little early checkin after a long drive up to Morar... The rooms & dining facilities are of a high standard.... good menu both in bar & dining room... breakfast selection good as well... Majority of staff are great - however Akrim - takes the time to check and make sure your stay is comfortable & that you have everything you need...

Nothing... everything was above the standard expected & to my satisfaction.. lovely place in a stunning setting.... with excellent all round facilities...
