I was pleasantly surprised after the negative reviews I read I experienced none of what I read Everything was perfect

Absolutely nothing

The location is really good, 5 mins away from Times Square and Broadway. Made it really easy to go around walking to a ton of spots. The bed was very comfy, heating always worked and there was always hot water before 11 am. Personnel was really nice and attentive. For the purpose if visiting it was cool but if you want to stay in, not such a cool spot. The room is fine for a couple with one bed (not queen nor king).

Didn't like that the room does not look like the images at all, that cleaning service was just replacing towels, doing the bed and emptying trash cans. No sheet replacement nor brooming especially in bathroom; the last day cleaning lady left less towels. There was sewage smell if bathroom opened and also no hot water after noon. Elevators are a pain if you're staying above the 4th floor because they take ages and only fit 7 people or 3/4 with bags.

We think this hotel is best for affordable price in the heart of Manhattan: Times square (2 min), Central park (10 min), subway station 50st (4 min), between 7th and 8th avenue and you can very easy hop anywhere without any problem. Food in 100m circle is countless. The room was on 12th floor and exceeded our expectation. There was nothing wrong inside: clean sheets changed every day, comfortable bed, good shower with warm water, enough space for 2 guests, clean room, free filter coffee... In earlier reviews people mainly complained about lifts, but after 4 days, we have never been waiting lift more than 3 minutes, any time of the day. Our favourite receptionist Sunny was best ever.... helpful, kind, always smily... Next time in NYC will be Gallivant guests for sure!

the location was wonderful. our room was clean and comfortable.

we had an unsettling event on our last night that we didn’t feel got enough concern from front desk staff. we came home after an evening show to a black plastic glove on the desk in our room. it wasn’t there before the show…why was anyone in our room while we were gone? also a light was out. we reported it to front desk staff on day 2 of a 7 day stay..,it was never fixed.

Location! Location! Location!! Within the Broadway district and within less than 5mins walk from the hotel, you’ll be in the middle of Time Square. The front desk, the concierge and the house keeping lady were all very friendly and professional! The room was a bit small and a bit run down but it has everything a hotel can offer.

The shower screen area was quite small, I am very petite so it didn’t affect me. But someone with bigger built might struggle in the narrow space. Like I said, the hotel building is a bit run down but for the price and the location, I’d give it 5 stars!

Family rooms were very accommodating for our 12 family members, and worked perfectly for us. Also the location was excellent for getting to Times Square, Radio City, and local restaurants, e.g., The Stardust Diner.

Elevators were small and extremely slow for coming and going, especially for me as I am disabled and require a rollator to walk. Rest of family could use the stairs, but I held them up at times due to the elevator issues. Great news is that the hotel is starting an upgrade on the elevators and then on the interior floor including rooms. I will keep this hotel on our favorites list!

Amazing location right in the heart of Times Square. Very clean, beds were comfortable, I could control the room temperature, and many tv channel selections. *There are only two very small elevators, but I never had any issues with wait time and I was on the 15th floor.

Even though at least some rooms are likely ready prior to 3pm, everyone stacked up in the lobby not able to check in until exactly 3. It's their policy, it's clear at booking, and I do get that. Not really a complaint - just an observation. However, most hotels I stay at will check you in if the room is ready as good customer service.

The bed & pillows are exceptionally comfortable. The water pressure is excellent. The location is perfect for first time NY visitors. The staff were friendly. The linen and towels were very clean. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was excellent.

The lifts were slow but not a problem. We are active, so walked the stairs up and down (except the journeys with luggage)- on 7th floor. The duvet was quite thin, so I did get cold but it was bearable. Some parts a slightly worn, but this does not affect the quality of the hotel at all.

The room was accessible and roomy. Two members of staff stuck out for me, one was called Anna and in particular Billy. They could not do enough to help me,. As a visually impaired person, it is important that you have staff who are able to help you, and they did! Room was clean and bed comfortable. I very much look forward to going back there hopefully next year. Thank you to all of the staff.

Great location, excellent staff!

The staff was very nice, from the front desk people to the baggage personnel and the cleaning staff. The room was pretty clean and the staff came every morning to change the towels, clean and make our bed. The location was fantastic, right in the center of everything and with lots of things to do

Everything was very good. Just to say something, when we had to leave the suitcases in the hotel our last day before taking the bus, we had to pay per bag/suitcase (only for the checkout). It would be nice to be able to leave the bags there for some hours at no cost after staying at the hotel.
