It was very conveniently located. I’d like the fact that there was a pool and it was accessible to me. It would’ve been nice to know that you require swim caps, which I would’ve brought if I knew. I wish there was ice available ? There was only refrigerator on the top floor. I don’t know that the extra money was worth it for just a refrigerator and a private bathroom. I actually prefer being on the lower floor more just felt safer.

It was fine, the maids was a little strange because I had to book all my room separately. The maids were knocking on my room three hours before checkout and woke me up two days. Not OK .. if they state the checkout is 11 then checkout should be 11 and the maids should not be knocking on your door before then and waking you up

Great location. I only needed about 12hrs for a layover and it was nice not spending it alone overnight in a train station

I forgot to say as I left, but there were no batteries in the TV remote. I only tried the next morning, but still, disappointing

Central Park is steps away and close to restaurants, grocery stores and transportation. I had a small comfortable room with AC and shared bathroom. I really enjoyed it.

Staff were lovely.

The location was great, walkable to so many things. The facilities were clean and quiet, and sharing a bathroom was really no big deal.

The pillows were flat.

Great walking location. Tiny rooms but served the purpose. Beds were very comfortable and the private bathroom had amazing water pressure and temperature. Air conditioner was cold and the fridge was icy from start to finish

Room wasn't ready upon arrival and we were told we would be told (we were waiting in the lounge) when it was. No one came for us and when later inquired ourselves we were told it had been ready, so we had been sitting there for no reason. The entire floor itself smelled bad, like what I imagine was the bathroom, but our individual room smelled fine

However, I would suggest that it's more suited to shorter stays, perhaps a few nights at most, given the lack of comfort. The room is rather small and antiquated, with a noisy a/c unit and bustling corridors. That being said, the property matched the descriptions provided in the instructions and met my expectations. Contrary to some reviews I read, stating the staff was unhelpful and discourteous, I found them to be consistently obliging and polite during my stay. In conclusion, while the accommodations might not be the epitome of luxury or comfort, the location and price make it an attractive option for short-term solo travelers. Any minor discomforts are counterbalanced by the convenience of being in the heart of Manhattan by an affordable price. It's a case of getting what you expect, and in that sense, this property did not disappoint.

As previously mentioned, there are a few discomforts, such as the lack of tranquility and the small, basic room. However, these elements should not come as a surprise to anyone booking here, as they should be expected if the provided guidelines are read. While the bathroom is located in the corridor rather than in-room, it's designed for individual use, offering privacy as the door can be securely locked from the inside.

Everything was perfect. Location with easy access to Columbus circle subway and central park with safe neighbourhood. Gym, pool, sauna, vending machines and all facilities were great and well maintained. Rooms with private bathrooms are an ideal option for my 1 week stay. First and definitely not the last visit.

Nothing to complain about or disappointed my stay. Appreciate if you may just allow early check-ins rather than 3 pm.

For NYC, it's a very affordable option. The location near Columbus Circle is very convenient for walking and is near many of the subways. And Central Park is next door. Having access to the Y's gym is a wonderful bonus.

This is not the Y's fault but the biggest drawback is that the other guests let their doors slam shut. And so early morning you might be woken by the noise of slamming doors. It's very easy to close the doors softly and it amazes me that more people weren't respectful of that. Everyone must've heard the same loud slamming so why not try to put a stop to it?

We are talking hostel here. And in this matter this is an exeptional place. If you are lucky you will have a skyline view and a view on Central Park. Rooms are small as to be expected but you’re there to sleep. The shared bathrooms and showers on each floor are well cleaned. Beds are firm and clean. Earplugs recommended as the windows are … simple and sometimes some of this american ACs kick in at 5 in the morning. But all this is easy beaten by location location location. With serious pool!
