There is elevator in the building. The apartments are situated on the 3rd floor (actually its 4th floor bc a 0 floor is a ground floor). Gazing from the windows unveils a breathtaking panorama of the sea and a vibrant street adorned with picturesque palm trees and glowing lanterns. Nearby, a grocery store caters to daily needs, while a captivating waterfront street hosts an array of inviting cafes and restaurants. Inside, the well-maintained apartments boast brightness and cleanliness. The kitchen is equipped with essential appliances like a stove, kettle, microwave, and sandwich maker, complemented by a comprehensive set of dishes. Sleeping arrangements include an L-shaped sofa bed and a comfortable double bed. The temperature is regulated by two air conditioners. Also there are like 9 chairs in apartments and balcony. Thoughtful touches enhance the experience, such as two provided adapters for forgetful or unprepared guests. Additional amenities include a TV, though the allure of exploration often prevails over screen time. Yet, it feels nice to spend hour-two sitting on the balcony while drinking cyprus wine and eating fruits with seaview. Abundant sockets cater to electronic devices, and small surprises like earplugs, coffee, sugar sticks, and tea bags add a bonus feeling to the stay.

Great hotel for the price we paid. Rooms got very simple interior but super clean and spacious, comfortable beds. Bathroom clean and spacious, with shampoo and shower gels provided. Towels were changed every day. Breakfast is continental, quite simple and not for full English breakfast lovers, but there was a choice of what to have. There are also a lot of bakeries and breakfast places near the hotel. We had a tour booked for 6am and the guy in the reception made us packed lunch by 5.50am. Excellent location, few minutes walking distance to the main train station, shopping centre and the Old town. Also, if you are booking any trips, pick up point is two minutes walk just round the corner. We would definitely stay again and 100% recommend

There was no kettle in the hotel room which was disappointing. The church bells are ringing every hour from 6am. It is not hotel's fault and didn't cause much disturbance to us as we just would fall back to sleep after, but for people with sensitive sleep might be quite an issue.

Stayed in the Matejko for two nights in Oct ’24, our first time in this establishment. The location is excellent, 200m from the Barbican Gate and Florianski Street and around 300m along this interesting street brings you to the main square and the Basilica. We had a room overlooking the wide street “Plac Jana Matejki” which was indeed pleasant. The room was comfortable with the usual double bed and two bedside tables. Our en-suite was clean as one would expect. Breakfast was the usual “continental” style with plenty of choice. On our way through Krakow we had reason to stay another night, again chose the Matejko but at the rear of the building. The view overlooking “Plac Jana Matejki” is much better than that at the rear!

Great location, less than 10 min walk from Krakow Glowny (main railway station) and MDA bus station which are attached to Galeria Krakowska mall.From there you have direct connections to and from the airport or nearby Wieliczka salt mine, Auschwitz etc. It is also just opposite from the church that John Paul used to served in many years ago, 3 min from the Barbacan, 15-20 min from Old town, Rynek - the central square and Wawel castle on the Vistula shore. Also the size of the room, this hotel is old school (said in a positive way, not like those modern ones with no soul) and the bathroom, lot od towels and other simple things that make your stay better.

The Hotel was ideal for a 'drop and go' stay where you only use the facility for sleeping and having breakfast. Although there was no restaurant, there was a breakfast room and what was offered was excellent both in variety and quality. The staff were friendly but one reception staff was extremely helpful and unfortunately I didn't get his name. He helped with providing a print out of routes for different places we wanted to visit, bus routes and time tables and tram details.

There was no lounge and unfortunately no kettle in the room to make a hot drink after arriving which was disappointing as we arrived after midnight. There was a beautiful church next door to the Hotel which played beautiful bell ringing tunes every hour, however the first peel of bells was at 6.00 a.m which was not helpful after a late arrival or in fact for the remainder of the stay as I wasn't intending to wake up at that early hour. This obviously, was not the fault of the Hotel.

Let's be frank. If you are planning to go to Krakow and spend most of your time in a hotel room, then stop here and look for a resort in a coastal area in Europe. For those planning on absorbing every second of the spectacular history of Krakow, then read on. For once in my life, I persuaded myself not to spend hours or days planning a trip. Even though it was a risky move for the occasion, being my 15th anniversary, it turned out to be the best decision ever. Matejko hotel, was the perfect stay possible. Just for rest and a quick breakfast. No AC in rooms (in ours at least), near to none toiletries, no mini fridge, and dated interior; everything you wouldn't care about really. You will be out all day and night. Clean, comfortable, wonderful mini breakfast with all of the essentials, helpful and kind staff- things you do need. Not to mention, main train station from the airport, just 3 mins walk away. Also 2 mins walk away from the old town entrance. Hearing the bells ring from the Church across the street was the icing on the cake for us; gave the feel of a medieval atmosphere. Thumbs up form us.

Excellent location. Perfectly situated for walking to all major sights in Kraków. Breakfast was brilliant. A great choice of food, and lots of it. The room was supposed to be 'small' but it was perfect for one person. I must mention the wonderful receptionists. They were so helpful. I couldn't believe this was Poland! ( I live in Poland)

Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would be better. Fortunately the receptionist loaned me a kettle and teabag etc. The temperature in the room and bathroom was too cold and I couldn't regulate it. This slightly spoilt my stay. These were the only two things that need to be improved.

I love the staff, particularly two young boys, absolutely superb 👏 genuine smiles and high standards of hospitality , because of great service, I can close my eye on the uncomfortable, old bed I slept on...It was Kiryll in reception at the night, when I have arrived and Vitally during the breakfast. For a long time, I didn't meet such a lovely, genuine people in polish Hotel.. and I am a regular visitor 🤷‍♀️

The bed was really squicky, and the hotel looks like it needs refreshing in general. From outside looks fabulous, and the location is also brilliant. But a little renovation and modernised furniture could only help... just my honest opinion 🤷‍♀️

Breakfast was really great and with an abundant choice. The personnel was very pleasant, too. The hotel is located ideally, the Old Town is walking distance and it's close to the train station. The single bed was comfortable.

The carpeting in the hallway is full of stains and looks really old and dirty. There was no kettle in the room which is such standard equipment in hotels nowadays, hence it was impossible to make a cup of tea in the room which I found strange. The dark carpet in the room looked very old, too. There was just a very very tiny shelf in the bathroom, big enough for an extra roll of toilet paper. No shelves at all in the bathroom nor shower area. I had to leave all my cosmetics, etc on the floor, impossible to place them anywhere.

Great location near the historical city center. Nice and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast with large selection of food. Our room was spacious with a nice view of the church right across the street.

There was no parking place for hotel guests. We ended up in the nearby private paid parking lot. The entrance to the hotel is not barrier-free - it was difficult to carry my child in the baby carriage through the steps. The bathroom wasn´t vented properly. The hotel needs renovation - mainly the elevator cabin and the bathroom.
