The smell when entering the lobby is refreshing, spotlessly clean modern hotel, all amenities you can think of are available, location is very close to haram, you could use the escalators of the other Hilton Convention Hotel to make it even shorter, there is a frequent and convenient shuttle to people how don’t want to walk that drops you 100 meters from haram square. The closest gate is 114 which is 200 meters away. It also to note that the area the hotel is located is less crowded and quieter than the area with clock towers.

The breakfast could be better for the statue of this hotel, pastries and croissants were cold, improvements in fruits, natural juice, coffee machine that serves cappuccino etc

Only draw back is location. Its on the backside of a hill. You have to walk up and after doing umrah your pretty tired. The good thing is they have a shuttle that runs very frequently, like very 10 minutes. So you walk up the hill for for a few minutes and the shuttle takes you the rest of the way. But even those few minutes are killer when your tired. But very doable. Otherwise, this is on the quieter side of the Kabbah. Where they are expanding the mosque. So its a little bit of a walk to Clock Tower and Abdul Aziz gate, if you want to go on that side.

The location is good, not too far from the majid haram.

The cleaners don't actually wash or disinfect the rooms all the do is make the beds and use a clothe to wipe the surface in the toilet. Infact, I had to report to the front desk for them to come and wash the toilet again. So the cleaners should be supervised.

+ Check-in staff at reception were very professional and friendly + The restaurant staff and supervisor Saddam at breakfast were exceptional with customer service

- Since our last visit, the shuttle bus service has reduced from around 4 buses down to 1 bus. This is causing cramped conditions at times and also people using shuttle buses from nearby hotels. Management need to review this and increase the number of shuttle buses. - It is not expected for hotels to change the culture of queuing for certain countries. However, the hotel needs to instead enforce a queing system for the shuttle buses. This was attempted once or twice, but needs to be consistently enforced. Certain countries have a bad habit of pushing into the bus in large numbers without waiting in line, but this can't be the case in a Hilton Hotel.

Double Tree by Hilton Jabal Omar Makkah We stayed at Double Tree from 7th oct '22 till 16th oct '22. Beautiful hotel, mesmerizing lobby and amazing staff. The room was spacious and clean. They even provided us an extra bed for our 7 year old son. It was a very smooth and serene experience at the hotel. Although we couldn't get the famous welcome cookies as they were finished but their Saudi coffee was good. The breakfast was very good at Zafran. It had very good selections. The managers were responsive, polite and always available. The breakfast had huge varieties to select from. From fruits to confectioneries to curries and variety of eggs. The best part was karak tea which was served happily by Mehdi Hasan. The outstanding part was they serve you with cold bottles of zamzam at the breakfast. The customer service is good. Special requests for kids were also entertained delightfully by Muhammad Garb. Housekeeping was very good and helpful specially Mr. Usman Rafiq. The only drawback is the location. As the name indicates it on a mountain so it's a hilly ride from hotel to Masjid Al Haram. There is a free shuttle service from the hotel to Haram 24 hours. There is a bus literally every 2 minutes so there is almost no waiting time. From the point of bus to the entrance of Haram, it takes 10 mins to walk and it's a hilly path. You might get tired. And if it's summer then it would be exhausting. Not recommended for elderly. Since we were young adults so it t was a good experience for us. If you are looking for good hotel at a competitive price and youre okay with the distance then it's a perfect hotel for you.

I found flies inside the hotel (reported to receptionist-Iman) which is not expected. every day I had to call housekeeper( they did not turn up on their own except one day), hotel is on the uphill area which I did not like it , their shuttle bus service is not as frequent as Marriot hotel’s bus service

Great location - approx 5 mins to the Haram and then another 5 to get inside and to a prayer spot (you'll enter around Gate 66). If you arrive in Makkah by train (from Madina or Jeddah Airport) then you can catch the free shuttle bus at the station which terminates 2 mins from the hotel. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Not sure why some reviews keep mentioning it's located up a "hill" - it's like a 3 minute walk up a slight incline, with no hiking involved. Breakfast has a good variety of foods but gets very crowded between 9-10am. Check-out was quick.

Check-in could have been quicker and staff should be a bit more alert to weary arrivals. (Hint: if there's a choice then go to the counter with a female member of staff, who seem far more professional and efficient). Sweet options at breakfast were limited to baked/bread-based foods (cake, pastries, pancakes) - some fruit yogurts or kunafa or kheer type options would have been nice. Lifts are very slow to arrive (typical of many "smart" lift systems) and way-finding/signage in the hotel is very poor/non-existent (you'd have thought a "To The Haram" sign would be a pretty obvious thing...) so you always end up looking left and right when you come out of the lifts to determine where you're supposed to go. So allow for this when timing your walk to the Masjid.

I like this hotel/location/facilities/internet speed/ free shuttle service to and from HARAMM and specially check-in and checkout smoothly service and i like Front Desk staff behaviour they are too cooperative with very good attitude.

Housekeeping service i don't like. I stayed 3 night and once i enter the room our carpet is not cleaned and once i talk with Housekeeping service they said tomorrow morning it'll be clean and very next day room makeup time that guy said our vacuum cleaner not working 😕 so i don't like Housekeeping. 😞

Although there is golf cart to transfer passengers closer to Haram the timing and frequency is not adequate. The walk up hill is challenging specially if already tired.

The check in was quick and smooth. Very helpful staff at the reception. I was with my parents and we were 3 adults. I was given an upgrade for the room which was a very lovely gesture. We had a city and patial view of minarets of haram. I requested for a late check out due to the fact that my mom was ill on that very last day. Ms. Mardheya was very kind and allowed us to check out late at 3:00 which was helpful because we could rest since our flights were in the night. Housekeeping service was lovely and Mr. Hamid (incharge of 26th floor) was great. They even came at night to clean our room because we spent most of our day in the Haram. The conceige person Mr. Rahamatullah was super helpful in helping us weigh all our luggage and repack on the last day. They stored our luggae till night. The restaurant managers for breakfast Mr. Tahir and Mr. Mahmoud (Mohammed?) were very welcoming and caring for the 7 or 8 nights we spent in this hotel. Overall, it was a very comfortable and a lovely stay. I have nothing to complain about.

The transportation service. They need to add more buses as there is only 1 bus and so many poeple. The wait was longer than I expected it to be. There needs to be a system because people come after you and get on the bus before you. The location is uphill and after you walk from Umrah gate to uphill, you do get tired because of the Tawaf etc. Even healthy person would prefer taking the bus. This is the only area they definately need to improve.
