Close to Harram

The check in took over an hour and a half.. After waiting for 30 min in line we got to the reception desk. The check in receptionist man at the 1st desk kept walking away into a room on the other side & would not come back for 15-20 min. First we thought he had to use the restroom but after him walking away 3 times without saying anything we asked another receptionist who advised us to speak to the manager. After an hour of non-sense of the receptionist walking away without saying anything the manager finally helped us.

The location of the hotel is the only and great point. It is literally 2-3 mins walk to Al-Haram. The breakfast is continental but it is not completely continental. I would expect a more international breakfast option is a hotel (within clock tower with *star ratings).

I faced a problem during checkin. The communication amongst the booking, hotel and customer is not clear. I had to pay almost 800SAR extra just and that is the tax which was never mentioned in booking. The hotel and booking must make a clear invoice to indicate what are the charge including and excluding taxes with conversion prices. The breakfast could be more international. It was very crowdy during the whole breakfast time, so the space and the staff services are quite limited compared to the number of people in the hotel. The staff were not able to manage the request of Coffee or tea. Sometimes I had to wait for 15-20 mins to have the coffee.

It’s a great property and we booked a junior suite for a family of 4, we loved the size of the room and the haram view. With all the recent constructions on going this hotel provides a decent approach to gate 79 of masjid. The breakfast was great too with so many options. Loved the fresh roti from tandoor.

At first we used the elevators from within the clock tower, but its super inefficient and slow and we had to finally switch to use the dedicated entrance from behind the clock tower. That is good but increases the distance to haram. It is a bit misleading on booking.com and if i had known about it i would have considered other options as well.

Location was perfect. Breakfast Buffet was excellent.

Bit of damp smell creeping up in the washrooms. Muslim shower was faulty, complained, didn’t got repaired in my multiple days stay. This is my 2nd stay, maintenance quality has suffered during past few years and it’s visible.

Close distance to clock tower where u can walk through to short cut to entrance if you want to do tawaf on mataaf. Also close to foodcourt at Mekah Hotel. The house keeping staff on level 15 Swiss really did a good job keeping rooms clean and fulfilled our request for room amenities.

Upon arrival, we had to wait till 10 pm to get rooms. After some days when hotel not so crowded, the reception staff were not flexible to let us change rooms to higher floor even when we want to pay the extra room cost for higher floor. We had to go to reception desk to talk because they don’t pick up the phone if you call reception from the room. We gave up.

Unlike some other hotels in the clock tower, this hotel has a separate direct exit to Haram without having to pass by shopping center that makes it super convenient and quick to reach Haram. We had booked 2 twin beds room, but the space allowed for 2 extra beds for our kids that made our stay amazing. We booked half board, restaurant is quite spacious but can get full during rush hours for breakfast. Food is quite generous and tasty. Dinner options are limited.

Room didn’t have a coffee machine that was quite surprising for a 5star hotel not to have. Only the kettle with nescafe & tea bags

‏I really loved staying at Swissotel Makkah. The location is incredibly convenient, being just a short walk away from Al-Masjid Al-Haram. Additionally, the hotel is exceptionally clean, which made my stay even more comfortable and enjoyable.

Honestly, there’s nothing I disliked about my stay. It was a wonderful experience overall.

Location was near to Masjid e Haram particularly gate 79 for umrah pilgrims quite convenient Among staff Mr.Naif was very nice and cooperative

We arrived at 5 am in morning..one among reception denied for our early check in although we agreed to pay.I suspect because only his duty time was going to end thats why then mr naif facilitated us
