I have to say our stay at the hard rock was just perfect!! travelling from the UK first time visiting New York, after reading a few negative comments on the fire alarm going off at silly times in the morning and not so helpful staff we were worried about our choice of hotel! and I have to say that it was the best choice we made!! the hotel was excellent!! The location was perfect, staff were friendly and polite, rooms were clean and big enough for 2, the bar in the main lobby was beautiful and the the bar upstairs was also great with a good atmosphere! I was also worried about the gym facilities as I couldn’t seem to find any reviews or pictures of this! so if you are a gym goer like me you will not be disappointed!! it’s fully equipped, clean and new and it’s 24 hrs! I will have to give this hotel 10/10 and would stay again when next in New York !! :)

Was a little surprised that there wasn’t the usual toiletries in the shower a part from 1 conditioner.

The location is perfect, if you don't mind walking, you can go to the multiple city's monuments, museums and attractions. We tried one morning the breakfast but you can get other good (and less expensive) options around the hotel. We eat dinner at NYY and the steak was very good (if you like it rare). The cocktails at the Sessions bar, awesome, we tried the signature ones and the normal ones, like mojitos. We stayed 4 nights and the rooftop bar RT60 was not available on 2 nights due to special events and when we went to try their cocktails, not so good. There is a concierge service that can help you with airport transportation (when you leave) if you need it.

There was a surprise at the check-out to pay Residence Fee which I did not know. On the Booking site, there is mention of Destination Fees ($45.90/night), City tax ($3.50/night), taxes (14.75%/night) but nothing about the pricey Residence Fee of $40 per night plus taxes ! If I knew this before confirming the booking probably it would change the final choice.

I like everything about Hard Rock Hotel in this specific location, they’ve sat a new standard that all Hard Rock hotels should follow. From the moment when you arrive and bellman take your bag you feel that this hotel is really Rocking. Their HRD deserve a hospitality award since they have one of the best staff in New York City. —- Amarissa - Manager, who’ll make sure that you’re as comfortable as possible and be able to help with anything! Sally - Frondesk Rockstar! - about her I’d need to write a separate article, as the way how she treat the guests is like staying at her own house, as she gives you that special attention and energy that most of the corporate chains are missing. Michael - Concierge - whatever you need he’ll cover you either if it’s a dinner in the moat fancier restaurant or VIP car ride. Shawn - Facility Manager - big respect to the facility manager that have everything under control and even greets all the guests as elevator as the hotel owner ( I even though he’s the owner when I met him in the elevator) overall awesome experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone that want to have special connection to the city and who wants to feel real NYC vibe.

All great, no cons

Beautiful designed, super clean, lobby extraordinary, very comfortable and super quiet, exceptional staff, great location, creative design elements everywhere. Loved the security and plenty of friendly staff. didn’t have to wait on elevators or anything for that matter. Loved this property!!!

We loved everything about it!

The hotel is AMAZING - modern, great location, well insulated for sound, comfortable beds and nice linen, stunning bathroom, coffee maker and water, mini fridge, steamer and hairdryer in room, really nice gym and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The rooftop bar was always booked or had reserved tables etc for outside bookings. As guests who would like to have enjoyed the rooftop this was not ideal. If it is listed as a facility to be enjoyed as a hotel guest then hotel guests should in some way have preference for use or bookings should be encouraged when checking in. It was rather disappointing we went to other rooftop bars instead because of lack of availability at our own hotel! I did shower once at 1:50am and there was no hot water. That is disappointing at a 5 star place. Other than that this was a fantastic hotel!

Every detail of this hotel experience exceeded our expectations. This is a wonderful hotel, with exceptional cleanliness and comfort. The location is efficient for touring the city as we had easy access to the subways. The hotel staff and concierges are awesome and very helpful.

We stayed for eight nights and loved every minute. The only minor criticism is service requests to our room could have been a bit prompter, but this was a minor consideration.

Excellent location! Walking distance from tons of landmarks and restaurants. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating! We highly recommend this property and will definitely visit again.

There was nothing we did not like.

location was good

it’s not for people staying longer than a couple of days. even a superior king was SMALL. not much room to unpack clothes needed for a week in cold season. not even a coat hook or anywhere to store cases. no dressing table either.

Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. Food and service at restaurants was excellent. The RT60 was a fun rooftop experience. Great breakfasts at Sessions. Glad our room was on 25th floor because we could still hear a bit of nighttime street noise.

The key card stopped working promptly at 12:00 noon and we were trying to navigate NYC streets and get back in time. We arrived at 12:05 and were locked out of our room with our luggage inside. A 10 minute cushion before our room key stops working would have been nice. The front desk was very busy and this added unnecessary time to our checkout experience.
