location and the fact the area for New York is fairly quiet

the bathroom looked as if it had blood splattered on ceiling and walls, water dispensers were broken, lifts temperamental. in need of a major refurb which I think is underway. staff were all lovely accept the day security guy who just seemed so miserable and was not willing to help. our trip ended on a sour note as said miserable security guy watched as my disabled father struggled down the lobby stairs with his case and took a fall onto the marble floor and at that point the guy finally decided to assist.

Beautiful old building well restored and excellent décor and fixtures. The staff were super professional and helpful. The TV in the room was awesome and easy to connect to so I can watch Disney+. I loved the convenience of the in room bar fridge. And the windows actually open! :-D Great experience over all.

So the elevator requires card to access (makes sense for the area but it means family and deliveries will need to be met at the door). And the AC/heater was a bit on the loud side. The bathroom would have been perfect with a tub but the shower was spacious.

So when I read the previous reviews I was horrified and we almost didn’t stay. HOWEVER we did stay and I’m so glad we did. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Our room wasn’t at all cold however there should be a duvet/blanket rather than just a sheet, especially in winter. The heating/aircon system is loud and seems to come on when it wants but honestly it’s not that bad, it didn’t wake us up in the night. We also had a fantastic view. Any issues reception are really friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and so was the bathroom. All the lifts were working and the fitness centre was excellent. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would 100% stay here again. The location is fantastic, there’s a subway station right outside and the hotel is in a safe spot. Rooms cleaned, towels changed everyday. The hotel is really good value for money and I would recommend people to stay but keep an open mind. No it’s not luxury but that’s why the price is so reasonable.

No duvets, just a sheet

i was a little bit scared after reading reviews but I was very positively surprised when I got there! honestly, if you are happy with just a simple room and simple bathroom then it’s a great stay. my room was very clean, bed was VERY comfortable, bathroom was basic but clean. not sure what people are complaining about! if you like everything luxury then yes, this hotel isn’t for you. location was great, literally 2 minutes from the tube station, 10 minutes walk from ground zero, 5 minutes walk from Broadway street. reception was really nice and helpful - maybe one lady could smile a little bit more, she looked like she hates everyone there which once made me quite uncomfortable 😅 other than that great stay.

unfortunately some people just don’t care and don’t respect rules about smoking so sometimes I could smell smoke in my room but it wasn’t anything strong or constant.

The location is great, there is a subway station right on the corner. From the subway we could get pretty much anywhere around the city. There is an Irish bar and pizza place round the corner from the hotel as well which was great. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was modern. The room had a coffee machine and a mini fridge. The rate we paid for this hotel and for NYC in general was amazing in comparison to other hotels in the area and around NYC. All staff were very nice and hospitable. As our room was small, we didn't have it cleaned during our 2 large suitcases took up most of the room. We received a note from reception to check in to make sure everything was ok and to contact them if we needed anything. That was a nice touch. On the 2nd day I managed to get some towels from one of the maids, she was very helpful and gave us what we required. On our last day we had a late flight, and the hotel stored our luggage for us whilst we did some last-minute sightseeing. I normally don't like leaving bags with the hotel, but I felt assured and was even given a ticked for each piece of luggage. All items were brought back to us straight away when we returned. A few weeks before we left for our trip we had seen reviews on Trip advisor and we almost changed our hotel, I am so glad we didn't. This hotel is really good, and we didn't have any issues. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is just looking for a nice, affordable room whilst in NYC.

The rooms are small, but this is expected in NYC. There was a lift off the whole time of our stay, but the other 2 lifts worked fine and were pretty quick. There was a water station on our floor, but this had been removed, it would have been nice to have that as we did find buying water expensive. We later discovered there was water on another level, but a sign would have been helpful.

I had read some negative reviews on the hotel, so much so that I looked for an alternative but the prices were ridiculous! this hotel was great value for money, we were able to check in early after a flight from Vegas. the room was large compared to most in Manhattan. Yes the hotel could do with updating but the bed was super comfy, black out blinds, I couldn’t hear any traffic, we didn’t need the heater / AC on but opened the window, bathroom was great, fridge in the room, tv on the wall, can’t complain about the hotel room at all. staff were friendly, bags were kept for us with no issues, lounge downstairs was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel, location was perfect. much quieter than staying at Midtown, we loved being able to explore and spend more time walking around the neighbourhoods down town. plenty of subways, restaurants, a great market & bagel shop nearby.

it just needs updating, and for those saying the lifts don’t work, we had no issues with all 3 and did not have to wait longer than 1 minute!!

Checking in, location near subway stations, quiet, great bakery one block away, friendly and very helpful staff, safe location, cleanliness, nice room and bathroom, a little fridge in the room, and more.

The blinds were a little dated, the elevators need to be renovated, and the room was basic (but we didn't use it much, just a place to crash at night)—otherwise, nothing to complain about. The hotel doesn't have great views of the city and it's not located in a very good area for shopping, albeit the Occulus is very close,

Elizabeth and Kristin in Reception were absolutely brilliant. Reading the reviews prior to arrival i knew to except the minimum and at the end of the day you're not spending you time in your room while in New York! The location was great and will stay here again.

the main issue in room 707 the a/c or heating contraption above the window had a loud noise every 2 minutes where i felt bad late at night if i was the tele the volume was constantly up and down and i felt bad for room 708.

Really friendly staff. Great location right next to subway so really easy to gey around the city. Room was a great size for NYC and really good value for money.

Water cooler on out floor wasn't working but no big deal. Only suggestion would be to have the little milk portions for the coffee machine as you only got one powder milk sachet per person which wasn't ideal. It was no issue to ask housekeeping for more though.

Very helpful staff, everyone was super nice! They even checked us in much sooner so we could go explore the city. The room was simple, but clean and soo comfy. We could also leave our luggage with them for about 4 hours before we went to catch our flight two days later. Would and will definitely stay again next time we’re in NYC!

Everything was great! Maybe a little bit of late night Netflix and chill would make it even greater. Smart TV was the only thing missing :)
