Hazel, the proprietess, was very welcoming and we enjoyed getting to know her. The rest of the staff was also friendly. The daily breakfast was ample and delicious. We didn't miss having a warm breakfast. The location was perfect for anyone enjoying the bustling activity of the Latin Quarter. Ear plugs were provided and there were noise blocking windows. We brought our own personal black out sleep masks as well. The history of the building was fascinating and we really enjoyed becoming a part of that.
We liked everything. The rooms are small. But, we barely spent time there. We had enough room for what we needed.

Fab location, clean, lovely continental breakfast with fresh fruit, cheese, meats, fruit juices, toast, scones, different breads, as much tea and coffee as you like, and the staff are really friendly . Very central, right in the middle of everything that is going on , bars and restaurants within a minute walk . We felt very safe despite being in the middle of the city , and have booked again for next year
Stairs, stairs stairs. This property is not for the disabled or infirm, no lift and the stairs are STEEP. Yes, there is some noise from the street outside, but closed windows should solve that issue, we had no trouble getting to sleep, ear plugs provided were not necessary.

The location couldn't be beat. There was a lot of history about the building. Fabulous pubs, next door was Busker Browns, and The Front Door, across the street. The staff was nice to talk with, two young ladies from Brazil. Great ductless system in each room. Thanks for the ear plugs, they were good and appreciated. Breakfast was nice but the room could only accommodate 8 people.
They advertised that there were memory foam beds and this is absolutely NOT the case. I brought this up with them and said it was part of the reason that we booked there. I showed the reception gal what is advertised on booking.com. This needs to be corrected because it is false advertising. After 6 previous nights in firm beds, I was looking forward to these 3 nights. There was no explanation for this given to us. No wash cloths.

This little hotel was great - we prefer small, personal hotels like this to big chains. The location was perfect for exploring Galway City. It was easy to walk everywhere around the city, and many great restaurants and bars were very close by. Our room was a good size, not huge, but very comfortable. At night, we did hear music and a little noise from the street below, but it wasn't too loud. The breakfast was really good - not a cooked breakfast, but lots of choice from croissants, toast, meats, cheese, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, and other cereals. Hazel, the manager, was very kind and helpful, and gave us several good recommendations for bars with Irish music, and good restaurants. Other staff were also very friendly.
We weren't able to have breakfast one morning because there wasn't enough room, but we didn't mind going to a nearby coffee shop just around the corner - Bridie Murphy's. Perhaps scheduling breakfast times with guests might help this situation.

Location location location. Couldn't fault it. Given the constraints of the very ancient, beautiful historical building, I was amazed at how comfortable the stay was. Breakfast was fabulous. The parking arrangement worked really really well.
Everything was small but we knew that when we booked it. We visited a couple of days before we arrived so knew exactly what we were coming into so there were no surprises. I did wonder if that might have been a bit more transparent on the website. It would have been a struggle for anyone with less mobility.

What a fabulous historic place to stay ... we were thankful to be just one flight up though...the narrow staircase and tiny room were a tight squeeze but actually a great experience. It was a rollicking time, between Hurricane Nigel, the Rugby game and the International Seafood Festival. Noise all night long as after the crowds quieted at 430, the barrels started to roll into the street. We were so tired we slept well enough but it is truly a Latin Quarter experience. Everything is at your doorstep. The young man working the desk was fabulous, friendly and helpful and diligent in mopping up the effects of the hurricane. A great asset to the experience. Breakfast room staff were great as well though we didnt really partake of the food as we ate out for a good time.
the parking garage is tight and not for the faint of heart but we got our hotel discount so no complaints. As long as your expectations are realistic about noise and space you will have a great time.

Location -Great for our party right in the heart of the Latin quarter surrounded by bars, coffee shops, restaurants, shopping & only a short walk to the Oyster Festival our reason for the visit. Windows blocked out the street noise very well along with the earplugs supplied. Breakfast was continental but we chose not to use & ate out for full cooked breakfasts.
Room - Small with double bed up against a wall on one side, no room to hang up clothing apart from some coat hooks, small suit cases did slide under the bed out of the way. May be to noisy for some on lower floors.

600 year old building with a fascinating history. Rooms were small, but very well equipped and thought through. The staff were super friendly, and the breakfast was great. The location of this cute little hotel is in the midst of the historic center of Galway, with bars and restaurants all close by.
Be aware that there is no elevator and that you need to carry your luggage up the stairs. Also, since the hotel is surrounded by pubs, it gets a bit noisy. But we slept well anyway, you just need to keep the windows shut.

Sent my parents here as a Christmas present. They said they really enjoyed their stay, room was small but very clean. Staff were lovely, breakfast was continental but lovely with a huge selection. Location was amazing, out the door straight into the centre of everything and only a short walk from the train station, all pedestrianised area. Steps only up to rooms so I’d recommend asking for a room on the bottom floor if you’re not great with stairs! My parents were fine but said if it was an older couple it would be a struggle.
Only thing they would have liked was a kettle in the room, but other than that everything was lovely!

I loved this place since when I saw It from outside with its colours and position and once in, It felt like a lovely nest in the city of Galway. The room was very small, but super cute and perfectly functional with a private bathroom. The night life noises were extremely reduced when the window was closed and we had no trouble in sleeping at all. Breakfast was delicious with fresh, sweet and salty options. I think i have never found on booking staff this kind and attentive towards guests needs, both via message and in person: they suggested us places to visit, how to reach them, and were extremely helpful in advising incredible experiences like the ferry boat to the Islands. What to say, It was a pleasure spending a few nights in this building that has so much history within its walls! If you wish for a genuine experiences, I warmly suggest this place to stay in Galway!
Nothing, i would absolutely choose this place again if I was visiting Galway one more time
