The location was amazing in the centre of everything l! Staff was so accommodating let us check in early in a lovely spacious modern room! Had the best time every in Galway and staying here really soaked up Galway city life. Food was delicious got extra in the morning for breakfast! I would come back here again!

This didn’t bother me as I was enjoying listening to the music or out in it! The rooms are extremely close to the bar and you can hear everything. There is also a nightclub next door that you can also hear music from until like 3 in the morning so wouldn’t recommend if your a bad sleeper! The do provide earplugs but I personally didn’t find them helpful!

I love it when a hotel exceeds your expectations. I thought the Skeffington Arms would be a pretty standard (but well located) pub hotel. But it's far better than that. The location is excellent as expected, but the staff are really friendly, the rooms small but really well fitted out and the bed, shower and everything else is of good quality and everything works well. To our surprise, despite being a Friday night, we didn't get any of the expected noise (and we had prepared with good earplugs which we ended up not needing). Granted we were on the second floor and facing the back, but it was really quiet to our delight. We'd definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Galway - not least because the pub itself is great.

Everything was really good, the rooms were smallish, with not that much room for suitcases, but that's the only small issue.

The hotel is in a perfect location, right in the main square, close to all the sights and hotspots in Galway. The room was bright and colourful with an en suite with a really good shower. Amenities like hairdryer and iron in the room. As the hotel is overhead a late bar, some rooms can be affected by noise but we were happily on a quiet room on the 2nd floor. The breakfast selection was good. The staff were lovely, very helpful and efficient and the hotel even gifted us a bottle of prosecco for my boyfriend's birthday. Coming back late was no issue, just buzz the door. They don't have parking but they reduced our Q park 24 hour car parking ticket to €10. All in all a great stay.

The only small thing that I didn't love was that breakfast is served in the same room as the late bar. I'm not sure if this part of the bar is always used at night. It was New Year's and very busy so it was used which meant that next morning there was an unavoidable smell of alcohol from the soft furnishings at breakfast. It was a little off-putting but honestly not a huge issue but if you feel it would bother you perhaps choose a room without breakfast. It also was a bit expensive but it was New Year's Eve so this is to be expected. We also booked late, perhaps we could have got better value if we booked earlier.

The highlight of Skeffington Arms is definitely the staff ......... from the incredibly friendly reception staff to the equally as friendly household staff as well as the staff in The Skeff bar next door. The room itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The food next door in The Skeff was outstanding (we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here) and the cocktails were some of the best we've ever had ........ and the location is perfect. All in all, we'd definitely recommend and we will be back.

Zero criticism despite me wracking my brain for something just to nitpick ...... can't fault the Skeffington Arms or The Skeff bar next door.

This property, though quirky, was comfortable and convenient for us. We stayed right by the elevator and the breakfast room, with the busy bar downstairs, but the air conditioner and sound-proofing doors blocked out noise. The room was spacious and equipped with everything we needed. When the water was cut for part of the day in some of the city, the hotel sent us a HUGE amount of bottled water, plus chocolates, to make up for the inconvenience.

Breakfast is served in a room that could have been lighter and brighter. An adequate cold continental breakfast buffet, but not on par with the other places we stayed. The cooked breakfast items were okay. The breakfast room seemed understaffed but the one employee did a great job serving guests (eventually another staff member arrived). We were not aware that the hotel had parking arrangements with a nearby garage and ended up parking pretty far away in a surface lot.

The location was great! The front desk staff were so kind and friendly! They were happy to help us with anything we needed.

We chose this hotel because of its location above the pub. However, the pub and pub restaurant was completely shut down durning the 2nd day and night of our stay. We were only there for 2 nights and one full day, in between. We didn’t know it would be shut down, so we made plans to go to the pub to eat dinner and listen to music the 2nd night. We were disappointed to find out from the front desk the morning of that it was going to be closed for the day and night.

Great location on Eyre Square, close to bus and train stations, Latin quarter, and shoooing areas. We had a twin room and it was huge, including the bathroom.

The only thing- and we knew this going in, is that they have a club that plays music till 2 am, so if you are sensitive to noise, you will be bothered by the place (the earplugs are a ice touch). Also, the fire alarm went off twice on one of the nights we were there (a guest was vaping in the room) and the very nice lady at the reception gave us a free breakfast the next morning to comp for it.

The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Niall looked after us and was very friendly and ensured our stay was comfortable and ensured our luggage was safe when we checked out and stayed longer in Galway. The room was big and had everything we needed. The domestic staff ensured our room was cleaned daily and we had everything we needed. Thank you for the prosecco for my partners birthday and the front facing room we requested. Location was excellent for the shops, restaurants and bars.

Just our preference that we would have preferred a room with neutral colours if that was possible. Purple and deep pink just made the room a bit dark and a fridge would be an added bonus. It was RAG week, which we were informed about prior to our stay. We would have used the hotel bar more of a night if it hadn't been. It would also be good if breakfast was included in the price on Booking.com.

The historic architecture was beautiful. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The location was central to everything. Our room was clean and comfortable, and our breakfast was wonderful.

The only snag we had was when we arrived, the GPS brought us to the back side of the hotel, which is a narrow, winding, one-lane alley. The gentleman at the front desk said that happens to people a lot. It might be a good idea to warn people about that when confirming check in. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay!

Loved the location, staff and pub. Food service was good.

Our beds each had bad dips on one side from people sitting on the bed. I had to put a pillow underneath to lift up the side which worked fine. But they should replace the mattresses! My son didn't use his ear plugs and was kept up at night till 3am by the music and noise. I had my own ear plugs, the staff warned us about the noise when we checked in and gave us ear plugs.
