The welcome we had and level of service was exemplary - when asked about days out and things to do, the staff gave some great ideas. Willing to engage with the customers. Food was brilliant we had steak and ale pie, salmon and seas bass - the portion sizes are good and prepared to a high standard. The facility had been used to celebrate someone's life the afternoon we arrived, and was used for a wedding celebration the Sunday lunchtime. The staff have clearly been recruited well and were always smiling and helpful. If you want value for money go to the Old Rectory - we loved it!!

Nothing for us.

After long journey we arrived at hotel with beautiful gardens and loads flowers still blooming considering we been having bad weather, as we entered bedroom noticed had a noisy fan in bath room and within five minutes owner arrived with new perfect motor "that's what I call service for you", as it got dark they had this beautiful tree must over 30 feet and with lights hanging all around just as you see in their brochures pictures, breakfast was really nice anything we wanted was no problem our last day we requested extra eggs no problem they said, also we were given extra hour instead of vacating at their time 10.00am they said no problem 11am. Unfortunately we didn't have dinner as we spent time with our family but broused through the menu for dinner and was pleasantly surprised of choices, really good had fair selection, perhaps next time. Will not hesitate of going back again thourelly would recommend it😀

After visiting and spending time with our family We were unfortunate that our vehicle broke down and being told by Mercedes Me that it will be hours infact they turned up at 3am so was not able to stay at hotel that night. Shameless service not like our Old Rectory Hotel stay in Crostwick.

The Old Rectory Hotel, Crostwick, is a charming establishment situated just 4 miles to the North East of Norwich. This hotel offers a serene and tranquil setting for its guests. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, ensuring that you feel right at home from the moment you step through the door. The comfort of the guests is of utmost importance at the Old Rectory Hotel. The bedrooms are designed to provide a cozy and inviting atmosphere, allowing you to unwind and relax after a long day. The temperature in the rooms was fine considering the current hot temperatures, ensuring that you have a comfortable night's sleep, regardless of the time of year. When it comes to dining, the Old Rectory Hotel offers a menu that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate. The selection of dishes is extensive, and the use of high-quality ingredients ensures that each meal is a culinary delight. However, it is worth noting that that the dining room could benefit from a more modern touch, as it currently lacks character and feels somewhat outdated. Similarly, the lounge area could be presented in a more professional manner to enhance the overall ambiance of the hotel. Despite these minor suggestions for improvement, many guests would still consider staying at the Old Rectory Hotel again due to its comfortable accommodations and welcoming atmosphere.

the Hotel was easy to find and was very spacious and quiet. The breakfast was lovely and all the staff I met were very polite, warm and welcoming. My room was well laid out with plenty of space.

as a single female traveller I am unused to being placed in a ground floor room and especially with a window that had no restrictors so I felt a little wary leaving the window open throughout the night as there was nothing to have stopped someone climbing in through the window. However the night was so very warm I had to have some ventilation and therefore had to trust to there being a lack of prowlers! Thankfully no unwelcome intruders, but it was something that made me feel a little uneasy. I loved the breakfast, great to have food made fresh etc. and the cereal choice was amazing but some yoghurt or fresh fruit would have been nice too,

Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The owner was very friendly and approachable. We had a small problem with our shower and he fixed it straightaway. Loved the pool and gardens. It is on a main road but that didn't spoil our stay. It still felt like a peaceful spot surrounded by countryside. Room was very spacious and the bed was huge and very comfortable.

Nothing really. Except maybe a bigger TV in the bedroom, especially as the Olympics were on!

Grand staff and excellent service. I am very delightful with their exceptional service. Very flexible and supportive. I had my freedom there and did not experience any single difficulties. Very friendly environment even for non-English community. Beautiful, clean, peaceful and calm environment. Food is very tasty and great presentation too. Chef deserves 10/10. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a peaceful vacation. Hope to go back again for sure xxxx Chamila Jayakody from Harwich

Very warm welcome from lady on reception who showed me to my room in a separate building. Room was compact but had plenty of sockets and a small mini fridge with complimentary bottles of water. Large bright bathroom with walk in shower. Good WiFi signal. Breakfast served from 7am which is good for business travellers Some nice local produce.(apart from the tinned boiled mushrooms)

Room was grubby around the window and there were lots of cobwebs around the ceiling edges. Evening meal was not great. The mustard mash served with the Pork was microwaved to boiling temperature and was watery. The apple sauce with the pork was also catering variety with cubed chunks of apple simply heated up. The vegetables were frozen but tasted ok. One of the waitresses was a little over familiar calling me and other diners "sweetie' 'love' or 'pet'. A more polite greeting would be appropriate. Decor slightly dated.

Me and a friend had booked in for 2 nights bed and breakfast with an evening meal on the 1st night. The service we received throughout was superb. I have coeliac disease and have to follow a gluten free diet. I was impressed with the choices of gluten free food available and having a strawberry cheesecake option for dessert was a bonus and it was delicious. The staff were very welcoming. It was busy at breakfast times, but the staff coped well and were friendly throughout. The breakfast choices were excellent. I had the fruit salad on the 2nd morning and had a good selection of fruit. We didn't use the pool, so I can't comment on that. We did walk round the gardens. It was overall a lovely stay in beautiful surroundings. I don't know how easy it would be to get around if you don't drive though. We visited Horsey and Cromer one day.

Nothing bad to say.

The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate and well equipped. We just had a cold breakfast which was fine. The dinner was very good and the service impeccable. There was plenty of parking on-site. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The heating automatically switched off when leaving the room, which meant in cold weather it took a little time to warm up on return, but this was not a significant issue.

Booking, booking in, staff friendliness. Staff were well dressed - as they should be in a hotel. They looked professional. Overall the stay was comfortable and quiet. The food in the restaurant was excellent - we had an evening meal there and it was very good indeed. Cooked breakfasts were also good. Bacon cooked just right and excellent mushrooms. Also, they provided hot plates, which is a requirement for me - do not want my food to go cold before I eat it.

The room was not as clean as it should be in some places. For example, there was a cobweb and a dead spider at the side of the toilet in our room. There were also some dirty marks on the wall beside the toilet. Attention to detail is needed in cleaning so that all the corners are cleaned - customers will notice these.
