Really nice position, very close to the center and also walking distance to the Lion Rock. Big breakfast. Nice staff.

Only cold water, No hot water. We stayed 3 nights, unfortunately we weren’t lucky with the weather because was raining almost constantly for 3 days, and we couldn’t have any hot shower for all our stay.

Lovely setting, surrounded by well kept tropical gardens. Large room with a good hot shower and some outdoor space to share with the wildlife (peacocks, birds, butterflies and a puppy!). Staff were really friendly and helped us arrange a few trips. Breakfast was amazing and varied each morning. Really close to a selection of restaurants and a grocery store.

Wifi was really bad (but this is common in the area). Room was a bit dark. We found the owner to be a little bit pushy.

The welcome at Sunshine Resort & Spa Sigiriya was excellent. We arrived around 1 p.m. The rooms, however, are ready only from 2 p.m., but there was no issue with leaving our luggage while we went to visit Lion's Rock and returned afterward. The entrance for the Lion's Rock road is about 10 minutes away. Count an additional 15-20 minutes on foot to reach the ticket purchase for Lion's Rock entrance. Of course, you can take a tuk-tuk instead of walking. The rooms have everything necessary, nothing to complain about. The next day, we talked about the elephant safari to the receptionist, and he offered to call a "tour" that is nearby, I think, to be able to do it. There are 3 national parks where you can see the elephants, and they know where there are the most at the moment. So, we went to Huluru and saw a lot of elephants. The best part was that the jeep picked us up at the hotel, we went to the botanic garden for free, and then headed to the safari. Once the safari was over, the jeep took us directly to our new hotel in Dambulla. The cost was 15,000 LKR for the jeep/guide and 5,000 LKR for the entrance for 2 people. Additionally, the breakfast was very generous and good.

I recently stayed at Sunshine Resort and Spa with my family, and we had a fantastic time. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The location is stunning, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed the delicious food, with a great variety of local and international dishes that catered to everyone's tastes. The service was excellent, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The environment was tranquil, surrounded by lush gardens, and our rooms were spacious and comfortable. Overall, it was a perfect family getaway, and I highly recommend Sunshine Resort and Spa!

We can warmly recommend the hotel. The garden is very nice, everything is beautifully furnished and the location of the hotel is also very good. There are great restaurants and bars nearby. However, we particularly remember the service. The people were so incredibly nice. We would particularly like to highlight Ruchira. He gave us so many valuable tips and also helped us when we had a small discussion with a tuktuk driver. Really a very likeable person, which we have rarely been able to experience in such a form. Thank you again!

From the time we arrived. ,the Manager Ruchira was exceptional...we arrived late, we were shown to our rooms immediately without insisting on payment etc. Dinner was fantastic. The view from the place, overlooking rice fields, with peacocks was so zen. Very near to the Sirigaya Rock palace. The next day too, breakfast was awesome. We are vegetarians...and served with stringhoppers, thosai, pol roti, sambar, dhall, fruit, fruit shake and tea. All in all ..hats off to the place and crew.. Will return

I had an incredible stay at Sunshine Resort & Spa! The location is perfect for sightseeing, with both Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rock just a short walk away. The resort made it easy to explore these iconic landmarks. I also did a safari tour arranged by the hotel, and it was an amazing experience—definitely a highlight of my trip. Their airport pick-up service was smooth and convenient, which made my arrival stress-free. Overall, Sunshine Resort & Spa exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Sunshine resort and spa one of the best where we have stayed in Srilanka. The view is breathtaking with the rice fields just in front of the room. All the staff is very friendly and helpful and will make your stay very pleasant, Plus the restaurant service delicious food at a very good price.And Breakfast was amazing lot of variety, We highly recommend it and we hope to be back WiFi was great it's work perfectly. Early morning you will here the bird singing and giving you a wake up call, wonderfull

The property is located within a walking distance to the Lions Rock and 2 minutes from wonderful restaurants and bars. The resort is beautiful and we loved reading our books in the tranquility. The room was clean, comfortable and had excellent air conditioning. The breakfast was exceptional and we loved trying traditional Sri Lankan dishes. The staff were phenomenal- they were friendly and shared their knowledge with us, giving us lots of advice on places to visit. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Sigiriya. We were sad we couldn’t stay longer!

The property was the perfect location for lots of activities and sight seeing including visiting and climbing both rocks , elephant safaris , ballon flights and lots of great places to eat nearby . The property had a lovely central garden which was well maintained and the restaurant on site was lovely to relax and chill in as you ate ( breakfasts were amazing). The property was secure with the elephant fence around the perimeter. We loved sitting on the swing seat with morning cup of tea watching the wild life in paddy fields just behind the property . Remember you are in Sri Lanka so do not be surprised by and enjoy the geckos, frogs , chipmunks and other wildlife that join you . Staff were extremely helpful and attentive and anything you wished to do whilst staying at property they happily helped organise for you . We stayed here during our honeymoon and room was made special with petals on bed for us.

Nothing we didn’t like but future additions to the property like pool , more rooms ,spa etc are now prevented because of change in regulations for properties within certain proximity to Lion Rock but this was explained to us by manager .
