The stay at Peggyslea was excellent, it was the best choice we made. Right from the start we were captivated by the charming surroundings, and then by the wonderful property. The owner is a warm woman, so nice and polite that it takes your breath away. We are full of appreciation for their kindness that they do with all their guests. The meals served for breakfast are a world championship in perfection, on the plate in addition to wonderful flavors we get a hugely warm heart and joy of the owners as a free gift. The stay at Peggyskea was a magical relief for the soul and body, all the senses were satisfied to an incalculable extent. Cleanliness at the highest level, easy communication using legible printouts, oh, and this kindness, of the owners and all the guests. How wonderful the world would be if all the people and all the places were like Peggyslea. We wholeheartedly thank the owners for the excellence we were able to experience through sight, taste, smell, touch and hearing, and we also filled our souls with beauty and kindness.

It was the best breakfast out of the 7 B&B's we stayed at in the 12 days boots on the ground in Scotland. They have Clydesdale horses you can take pics with (after breakfast) Also other animals you can pet or take pics with such as Swiss sheep, pygmy goats (that pumpkin is a dodgy we bastard, lol!) donkeys., chickeGreatns, pigs and alpacas. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Gyle Shopping Centre from Peggyslea and you can catch a tram there at Gyle's that will take you to Princes Street where high street and the Royal mile is. It is about a 25 minute tram ride. The bedroom at Peggyslea was HUGE! Bathroom was excellent and the beds were pretty comfy as well! Annette cooks a mean traditional Scottish breakfast, and Ilsa is great for suggestions as to what to take in while in Edinburgh! We had a great time there! If we come back to Scotland, Peggyslea will definitely be one of the B&B's we will return to!
Nothing at all! The sheep and goats are very friendly and will come up to you to pet them. Same with some of the Clydesdales that are out in the open pens.

The property was stunning and very large. There is lots of animals on the farm and my husband and daughter got to feed the goats and sheep. She loved the boxer dog puppy. The place is very spacious and clean. The room was very large and the bathroom was very nice. We had everything we could need. The breakfast was lovely and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. They made you feel right at home. They do allow you to use the kitchen and fridge if you need to and there is the option to have food delivered. It’s around a 30 min drive into Edingburgh city centre and 10 mins to some local stores such as Tesco. You do need to be able to drive if you want to stay there and explore the city. I highly recommend the place it’s beautiful and the scenery is amazing. Lovely views all round and a lovely walk around the farm
For me personally the bed was too soft and it does creak quite a lot.

The property is a dream! It’s spacious, it’s clean, it felt like home away from home! We arrived in the snow and it all looked so magical. Our welcome was very warm and friendly by our beautiful hosts, breakfast every morning, watching the sun rise and the horses playing happily. Even the farm animals are friendly! We were very fortunate to be there when Santa was coming and we didn’t know he was going to be there so it was a pleasant surprise for our little one. We’ve all fallen in love with Peggyslea farm and we will be back soon! Thank you Ailsa, mam, aunty and the whole family!
We loved every single thing!

Peggyslea Farm B & B was perfect in every way! Annette and Ailsa were warm, welcoming, genuine, and kind hosts. Our room was spacious, immaculate, and all amenities were generously provided. Of all the places we visited during a month’s travel in the UK and Scotland, breakfasts here were the best: fresh fruit, eggs collected from their chickens that morning, and jams they’d made themselves. / This is a working farm. It was delightful be able to interact with all the animals and fun to watch Ailsa train her team of Clydesdales. / We left our car at the (free) Park and Ride in a nearby village and took the bus into Edinburgh. Annette and Ailsa gave us good advice on other (less touristy) places to go and things to see as well.
We wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return again.

The farm is very well kept.. we had a lovely room with amazing views and the staff & family were really helpful and welcoming and even accommodated us for breakfast although we were slightly late, which was nice. The location is fantastic, only a short drive up the road to the park and ride to get into Edinburgh! Gunner our dog loved being able to roam around freely and we very much felt at home. Thanks for a great stay and we will be sure to stay again soon 😊
Communication could be a little better, but due to the time being NYE/NYD it was to be expected.

What’s not to like! The farm is only a few miles outside Edinburgh. It’s a perfect base to explore the city out of. The room is comfortable, and the bed is lush! The farm is unique in that the hotel rooms are as comfortable as a hotel room, while being a B and B, while also being a functioning farm! The breakfast provided is scrumptious, and completely filling. In addition to juice, milk, and a range of cornflakes, you get the choice of informing Ailsa and the lovely team what you’d like for breakfast (from their set list). The farm is also a wonderful space. They had prizewinning Clydesdale horses, and 3 curious alpacas! Even the chickens were friendly.

Ailsa and family were perfect hosts - there when you needed them but not intrusive. Our family room was spacious and clean with fabulous views over the beautiful surrounding hills and countryside. Breakfast was lovely and varied and available at a time to suit us. Our son, in particular, really enjoyed interacting with the animals around the farm and loved his ride down to see the animals on one of the farm vehicles with Chris. We highly recommend a stay at Peggyslea Farm and we'll be back when in Edinburgh again.

The room was spacious and clean. Annette, the host, and family were really lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. The pub we went to for dinner was close by, really nice and the food was tasty. The property was great and we had the freedom to wander around the farm and look at the animals and pat them if we wanted to. There were Clydesdale horses, alpacas, donkeys, ponies, chickens, sheep, goats and 3 very friendly dogs. It was like a home away from home. We loved our stay there.

The rooms were very big and spacious and at the same time very cosy. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was a decent size and had a nice bath and separate shower. Our check in was smooth and we were able to get an early check in as we had arrived on an early ferry. That was very useful for us. The English breakfast was amazing and we looked forward to it every morning. You pre order your choice the night before and therefore there is no long wait while it is cooked. We had a short walk around the farm and saw the beautiful horses, and the chickens, donkeys and alpacas. The setting is beautiful and we were able to enjoy the early morning sunrise. It is about a 25 minute drive into Edinburgh so it was a very convenient place to stay.
Nothing. Everything was great.
