Was warm and dry, and great facilities. Snow and cold outside, so great to be warm inside Every thing was very clean and beautiful. Stayed before, and will stay again when I go skiing

Check -in was extremely slow, as the Manager was not to be found (both times we tried), and even when I phoned, there was no-one to answer my call to Reception. I could hear myself leaving a message there. Manager needs to carry the phone with him, and / or have a buzzer to ring.

Great value for money for a family. In some ways it was great that the key was just left for us and we were just left to it.

However, We were unsure who was staff and who wasn't. I wasn't sure exactly where we were allowed to go. We stayed in a building with the kitchen and lounge, which we found well enough. But there appeared to be a communal area on the far side of the building, perhaps with a pool table but we weren't sure if we were meant to go in there. A man was wandering around the accommodation who may have owned/worked at the place but we were never really sure. When we were leaving he was behind the reception but I was still unsure if he in fact worked there. So just a little more information about where we could go and what was available for us to use would have been great.

The place is cosy, room is good, clean and had enough storage. The common area and kitchen - easy to use and had plenty of equipment. Reception was charmant and overall, a place that I would rate in different category. Also, very convenient to access the Alpine crossing

Couple of issues - the sink in the bathroom was minuscule and had two taps. So even teeth brushing was a challenge. We had a room that is meant to accommodate family of 4 for two of us. Not sure how it would actually handle 4 people there

Shower pressure was amazing, hot water and great pressure, not usually found in this region, and for this type of accomodation. Finding the room was a bit confusing, there were a couple of missing lightbulbs in the hallway, and the smoke stop doors felt like were going the wrong way, but we found the room, it was comfortable, had the required furniture. When we returned from the mountain / dinner in the evening, the whole building was warm and comfortable.

I drive an SUV, the carparks could have been a little bit wider, but appreciate the need to fit in as many cars as possible. It was a little hard to see the yellow lines marking the car parks, but once spotted, they were easy to get into. Wasn't sure where the reception was when we first pulled in, but after parking, and looking around, it was easily found.

Great location and great value for a family Staff friendly Warm. Cosy. Clean.

It was a shame that the games room, pool table and spa were not available as we were told that a private fun tion had just been booked after our booking. Staff were friendly. Last minute changes to our room left us waiting till 3 for check in with 3 little ones. But it was still a great little spot and value for money for a young family. Data service poor so room tv didn't really work amd coukd not cast from phone. But it was ok

Room was great and perfect for myself and 2 girls aged 11 & 12. Definitely had room for 5 if we had extras and wouldn't get in each others way. Was quirky but very comfortable and extremely clean. We have rebooked for the next school holiday to stay at Howard's again.

Drying room in the building we were in unfortunately did not dry our gear, however there was a great one in the opposite building part of the accomodation.

I stayed in an en-suite room, which included a shower and toilet. The room was spotless and tidy, with a clean shower that had excellent hot water pressure, plus fresh towels provided. The room also came with a hair dryer and a heater, which were nice touches. The beds were comfortable, and the sheets were fresh and clean. Overall, it was a great stay. Check-in was hassle-free—keys were waiting on the counter with a note when I arrived.

It has a quaint old world charm about that we find inviting & relaxing. Management is very laid back and helpful when called upon. Some do find it too laid back, and they confuse it with unproffesional. But you do get used to it and take it in your stride, so we don't find issue with it.

Some reading lamps in the lounge areas, as it is poor light for light for reading there. Also maybe 1 large LED Dome type light in the middle of the kitchen island bench for food preparation.

I liked the big kitchen where there was everything that you need to prepare a meal. Moreover, the staff is very nice and approachable. They made sure I feel comfortable and some issues that I had were solved :).

It is clean and all, but it would not hurt to have it renovated a bit, especially the bathroom.

We stayed in the ruapehu wing. This is basic, nothing flashy but very clean and comfortable, it sleeps 10 (only had 7 people staying with me) and is a big space with plenty of room for everyone. I would happily stay again in the future. We used this as a base to do the Tongariro crossing which was awesome.

Nothing! It totally met our needs.
