The breakfast was great and the location was perfect. Not too far from the airport and not far from the waterfalls and beach. We flew in from Washington D.C overnight. We encountered problems at the car rental, as usual, and didn't get on the road until 3 hours after we had planned. The drive to Hotel Selja was nerve racking, with snow, wind, traffic, roads not plowed, so when we got to the hotel, I was exhausted. We arrived at 12:00 when checkin wasn't until 4:00. They were so nice, they prepared all 3 rooms we rented so I could get some sleep. They went above and beyond, which you don't see too often anymore. I HIGHLY recommend staying here.

We were arriving late and the hotel provided check in instructions which were very easy to follow. Clean, comfy beds, in a great location, good breakfast. Bathroom also nice and comfortable. Location super close to the waterfalls and means you're able to get to them before tour groups arrive.
Breakfast items kept running out because they were replenishing them in small batches but during a busy breakfast time so everyone was crowding into the same small spaces.

Free breakfast was a good way to start a day of adventure on Iceland. Our room was pretty spacious and clean. Towels and toiletries were provided in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Big windows that provided us with a great view. We were lucky to see the northern lights on our 2nd night’s stay. Easy to locate via Google maps, location was right smack in the middle of Reykjavik and Vik. It’s pretty close to some falls and other spots, which was great if you want to visit them early to avoid the crowds. Self check-in was easy.

The location was excellent, close enough to the main road, but far enough so that it was the best location where we saw the northern lights, just outside our room. Breakfast was quite ok, the mushroom soup for dinner was DELICIOUS, the staff was very nice and helpful and the view from the room ... wow. We'll definitely stay here again next time.
Nothing super important. Only thing was that at night we wanted to turn off a really strong light on the outside of the hotel so that we could see better the auroras, but no staff could be seen from 22:00 onwards, which was a shame, as the really strong light was affecting visibility outside heavily.

Small and simple hotel, but it does the job great. It's located out in a field isolated from any other developments, providing remarkable views of the surrounding mountains and a chance of seeing the Northern Lights! During our stay in early March 2024, we had great views from directly outside the back exit around 1:15am. Staff were promptly available via WhatsApp and helpful. The room was adequately spacious with a comfortable bed, tea kettle, and mini-fridge. Breakfast buffet served in the lobby/dining area includes a waffle maker, bacon, boiled and scrambled eggs, beans, crackers, toasts, jams and nut butters, cereals, milks, and fruits, along with an espresso/coffee machine. It is a 10-minute drive from Seljalandsfoss so convenient if you want to be there early in the morning.
Really, no complaints!

The location was beautiful only a short 5-10 minute drive to Seljafoss waterfall. The breakfast was excellent and we really did not expect as many choices in such a boutique place. The staff were excellent, really kind and helpful. Hotel room was small in size but it had everything we needed including electric kettle, TV, fridge. There was a coffee machine available in the lobby 24/7 free of charge which was lovely.
Although the facilities in the room were great, the shower was a bit clogged and the condensation on the window in the morning was huge but this might have been due to weather conditions and temperature differences.

The setting is fantastic. We even had a view of Seljalandsfoss from our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great. Dinner was tasty (Beyond Burgers all round) and despite not having any vegan desserts on the menu, the owners had arranged for vegan icecream to be delivered specially. The staff were sensitive to the member of our group with a nut/seed allergy. I would highly recommend this hotel. Parking was easy just in front of the hotel. All 6 of our group felt we could have stayed longer.

Looks like a tiny pre-fab warehouse on the outside, but a wonderful clean and bright little hotel on the inside! Rooms and beds very comfortable and not cramped. Bathrooms very modern. Entire site remarkably clean and fresh! Breakfast was on the small side but this isn’t a big place (?12 rooms) and we all felt satisfied with the food. Stayed only one night, but would definitely use for longer stay had we had any activities in the area.
No frowny faces here! Great little hotel!

Nice view out of the window, 5 minutes drive from Seljalandfoss waterfall (you can even see it outside of your window!). Good breakfast and waffle maker available for guests to use during breakfast. unlimited coffee and tea in the common kitchen + kettle and cups in the room. Overall a very nice place to stay if you’re travelling around Iceland and need a comfortable stopover.
The road leading to the hotel is not designed for not 4x4 cars. The wood logs as side tables though look very stylish, but equally very impractical. The ventilation of the building/rooms traps a heat in making the windows steam up which may eventually lead to mould appearing, so make sure to open the windows from time to time during your stay.

Room confortable and nice, breakfast was very good, we could also make waffles and espresso. It was lovely to sleep in the middle of the field with such a beautiful view. They also have a small pond. Friendly staff, they agreed to serve breakfast a little earlier for us because we were in a rush to get to a tour.
Just be careful with the 2 km gravel road from the main road. However they were working on that and by the time you may arrive, it could be better
