Do not get the first look fool you - it is a great place! From the outside it doesn't look that way, but it is! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They are small, but enough for one night stay. The kitchen and dining area is big and very well organized. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The bathrooms are separate, but clean and cozy - with the floor heating! Very nice! You will find sheet covers and towels in your room. Good location - even being close to the main road. You pick up keys in the restaurant accross the street - where, as a guest of the Guesthouse you also have discount. Staff was very helpful and nice!
The nearest shop is 30 minutes drive away - only to take that into account! :)

A typical guesthouse with small bedrooms and shared bathrooms (though the kitchen is spacious). Despite being located near a main road (route 1), it's perfectly quiet. There are no hiking areas in the vicinity, but it's a good place to stay if you plan to visit nearby attractions (Seljavallalaug pool, Skógafoss, Sólheimajökull glacier, to name a few).
The interior is clean enough, but the windows could be cleaner. If flies annoy you, beware, there's plenty of them (it's not somebody's fault, it's countryside after all, flies are part of the environment, but still, some may find it annoying).

Good location for travelling south Iceland. Place was warm & open shared facilities comfortable, bathrooms were clean. Easy check-in. Only met the staff at the restaurant opposite who checked us in. Handy to be able to go across the road for dinner although didn't think meals were good value for money. Would probably recommend self-catering.
Beds were not that comfortable-mattresses need replacing maybe.

At first, this looked questionable. The building sort of seems like it's in the middle of nowhere. However, we ended up really enjoying it. The hillside was beautiful and the setting kind of magical in the morning light. The restaurant associated with the place, right across the street was good and so was the morning, affordable breakfast. The pillows are flat though as in most places in Iceland. So, bring an extra if you can! :)
Pillows---the pillows in each place we stayed were always awful--flat and only one per person. This seemed like a universal problem! ha.

Such a beautiful location and a well-maintained, clean, and comfy place to stay. The staff member we communicated with was great and so helpful when we realized we had booked the wrong type of room by accident. So appreciated! You should try their restaurant across the street. It was delicious and a lovely atmosphere. Also, the sheep at the farm next door are super adorable.

This was perfect for my family. It was big enough for four of us, including my two young teens, and had a table so we could eat together rather than in the main room. The room was warm and modern. The showers were hot and the kitchen had everything you could think of.
My only improvements would be that they need a drying room. We were out in the rain one day and really struggled to get our clothes dry. I would also suggest they sell or provide a few basics such as butter and milk for the tea and coffee.

The property is located along the southern route and easy to find. Its proximity to both Reykjavik and Vik make it ideal for a trip down south. The bathrooms and common areas, like the kitchen and the living room, are very comfortable and modern. There was tea and coffee available.
The rooms, unlike the common areas, are very simple. The bathroom does not offer any amenities like shampoo or soap.

We enjoyed our stay at this guesthouse. The outside is a little unassuming but the inside is exactly as the photos show. It's clean and comfortable with spaces to relax, cook and eat. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and private. The restaurant across the street where you check in is so cute and food is delicious. We would definitely stay here again when driving and stopping along the ring road.

The best guesthouse ever !! I felled into a frozen stream and lost my car key, I arrived at the hostel without my car and was frozen, they welcomed me with open arms straight to the shower to warm up and dry off, the owner of the place made sure we got a spare car key from Reykjavík so that the next morning we continued to travel with our car and warm in our hearts, the restaurant was very tasty and the place was very friendly Homey and good. Thank you Hrund for everything ❤️

From outside you are 100% sure you are in the middle of nowhere, and the guesthouse look like a box from outside and you may thing 'Am I in the right place?', then check in is the lovely restaurant across the road where we could have a lovely Viking meal (Volcano soup) and chat which the most gentle local staff ever. The guesthouse is amazing from inside, very well decorated and clean, with plenty of bathrooms, big and well supplied kitchen. So safe and with the most beautiful landscape surrounding the place. I highly recommend! And would definitely return!
