I loved everything about the property, after doing research on line and finding out about the age of the building and how amazing it looks, I booked for a pay when you stay. The building and its decor is in keeping with the age of the property which I was really pleased about. We weren’t interested in a commercial hotel that keeps everything “modern”. Character and charm is what we wanted and got that in abundance. The bathroom was immaculately lean, whitest grouting I’ve ever seen, bed lovely and comfortable and sheets whiter than white. The staff were all so lovely, friendly and welcoming and would help you if you needed anything at all and you can tell that they are a happy family type unit, that actually care about the hotel and residents and do it with a genuine smile. We booked in for four nights and I wish we stayed longer. The restaurant next door which is ran by the same company, was amazing! Oldie worldie….just loved it! It was cosy and the food….wow! Those boys can cook. Fish literally like butter and melted in the mouth. You can tell it’s all local ingredients and farmed produce, cooked to order and you can’t get fresher. The chicken curry, superb and on our last night the steak. To die for, I’m not usually a steak person and even having it cooked well done, just melted. Nothing fatty or chewy, beautiful. In the price was a cooked or continental breakfast you choose and as much as you like as it was a buffet system, magic! Which was replenished even few minutes so there was plenty. My only regret is I didn’t go back for extras or just have a breakfast of sausages, superb stuff. What topped it all of is it looked over the beautiful little village which we had just a few minutes walk where you’d find other amenities. We will definitely be back next year without fail, if you want a lovely building, and staff with peace and quiet, surround by magical 360 views then I highly recommend. 5* all the way.

Staff in this hotel were absolutely outstanding! Every single staff member we interacted with was lovely, they couldn't have done more to make us feel welcomed & comfortable! Thank you all very much :-) breakfast was ample & set you up for the day, whatever your activities! There was something for everyone.

This is an old building (which of course is very charming & beautiful), however, for two asthmatics, the damp in this hotel is a hazard. I'm not sure whether it's affecting the whole building or not, but it was particularly bad in the part of the hotel we stayed in, so something worth considering! Anyway, I believe there are plans to renovate the building very soon, so we're excited to return :-) in the meantime, it's manageable for a few days with good ventilation (open window) & if possible, some dehumidifiers!

Lovely breakfast. History-rich property, within walking distance to local shops and cafes. Nice staff. really iconic/streotypical Scottish feel. Really good parking facilities. Cosy bedroom. Really lively building, accommodating to alot of guests from all over! huge bar with a large range of alcohol, knowledgeable staff.

Unfortunately i think the iconic tartan carpets were quite unforgiving when it came to showing dirt specs & marks. Our bathroom wasn't the cleanest either, could do with a bit of an upgrate. We could hear people snoring, doors closing & footsteps - due to the age of the building. I dont think we would stay for more then 1/2 nights, still worth a vist though

The breakfast was exceptional! Massive variety, everything was delicious, quaint dining room. I wish we could have stayed longer solely for the breakfast. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and kind. The location was perfect for walking to various places like the Loch Ness Centre (do the Deepscan cruise!) and Fiddler's Cafe Bar (great fish & chips). The room was cozy and the tea and coffee in the room were wonderful.

The water pressure and temperature varied in the shower and it took a while to gain the balance between too hot and ice cold. The toilet, too, struggled with water pressure.

A beautiful hotel in a good setting, it was like staying in a big old country house. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and really big portions.

Dinner seemed a bit haphazard. On entering the restaurant we stopped at the wait to be seated sign for several minutes before being noticed by someone who appeared to be eating his own dinner. He took us to the table and took our food order and then was working behind the bar, it just seemed a bit odd that this process wasn't as well managed as everything else at the hotel.

Breakfast was really good. Typical Scottish breakfast, with vegetarian options for my cousin. The room was clean. The bathroom was also clean. Location is perfect if you don't own a car and want to explore Drumnadrochit on foot.

There were some negative reviews that made us a little nervous, but they were ultimately not as big of problems as they were made out to be. The bed was a little stiff, there was a lack of wi-fi in the room, etc. However, staff was fairly friendly, dinner wasn't difficult to find, and everything was taken care of for us.

Lovely breakfast, the staff was so kind and helpful with offering suggestions of day trips and answering questions. If you’re a fan of vintage and unique furnishings, this hotel really is a gem. It’s quite cosy and relaxing after a full day of excursions in the pub is such a highlight.

We were able to use our roaming data in the rooms, but the hotel wifi is only available in the lounge area because of the thick walls in the hotel. The staff notified us about this when we checked in, and the lounge is really nice to hang out in.

Contrary to other reports we found the hotel very clean and the staff all very helpfull. We would like to thank Leeanne and her team for a very friendly, comfortable and pleasant stay. The old building has so much charm, and the gent in the bar was not grumpy at all but very friendly and had a great dry sense of humor. His wife, the previous owner, came over for a chat & was delightful. Food in the restaurant was good and catered for my wife, who is a vegetarian, not a vegan. Would definitely stay there again.

Stunning all round. People who share bad reviews regarding this establishment need to take stock! This is a very reasonable place to stay, not charging stupid prices for good food and a clean hotel with absolute characters! If we continue to slag these establishments we will however be left with over priced hotels run by corporate dummies! Give these guys a break and give some positive feedback as these heroes deserve! 🤷‍♂️👍😉

All good

It was clean and comfortable and in a super location and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.

The hotel was looking very dated and in need of a makeover. Everything was cladded in dark wood which gave it a slightly gloomy appearance and the music played in the dining room was wonderful if you like “ A nightingale sang in Berkeley square “ but personally I would have preferred something more uplifting and a more varied repertoire.
