I arrived late afternoon after a long drive and was tired, pretty much most of Albany appeared to be closed on a Monday including the bar/restaurant here, I managed to find a bar and restaurant on the Main Street to sort me for the night. In first sight the hotel seemed very basic but over the 3 nights I grew to really like it and once the restaurant & bar were open I found it a very good base to explore and enjoy Albany from and really enjoyed my stay, my room was basic and small but comfortable enough, the shared bathroom was spacious and clean, all the staff were friendly and helpful
Not much storage space for clothes in the room

The location right next to the bus terminal is amazing. The room and the bathroom were both very clean and the bed was plush and comfortable. The showers also had great pressure and could run very hot. It's one of the cheapest private rooms in the city so it's good enough for what you pay.
The reception operated very limited hours and it was tricky trying to get a hold of someone outside of these hours. The central heating in the room was also not turned on despite it being rather cold the night I was there. There was a kitchen for guests, but there was a sign saying that guests weren't allowed to use it for cooking.

right in the middle of town, near to most everything you'll want or need - the rooms while small were practical and tidy. little fridge in your room to keep drinks cold, common area / kitchen for making drinks was tidy and well maintained.
not much actually, they priced the rooms right - the shared facilities were clean and tidy... I didn't stay over a weekend, but might be a little noise from the beer garden downstairs - but honestly, they even included ear plugs - so I've no complaints and booking.com prompted me to write in this box.

Great value for price. The place was super clean and the showers were nicer than my own. Location is perfect and the live music was fun. Everything about this place is detailed so please read before booking, shared bathroom was fine and was always kept clean, even floor mats provided. Room had a mini fridge, towel dryer and a little fan. The fridge was very useful complemented with the shared kitchenette. I highly recommend this place for a cheap and well located stay.
There's no door directly to the car park outside of bar hours so it was a bit inconvenient to walk around the block if we wanted to go somewhere early in the morning.

Receptionist was very friendly and provided all the relevant information, this hotel is absolutely my aesthetic, lots of dark walls and art and music... honestly I really loved it. I didn't get the chance to eat in the hotel but it looked so inviting.. I booked another trip while I was in my room for later in the year! It's just so pretty and cosy, I am looking forward to coming back in the middle of winter.
So I had a little freak out walking from my room to the bathroom and when I got there, I looked in the mirror and there was a cockroach on my head - but, being OCD I scoured the bathroom, hallway, ceilings and bedrooms due to my paranoia and I think it was just one of those things - and to be honest it just made me realize how clean overall the hotel was. It doesn't bother me having a shared bathroom, so if that's an issue for you possibly this hotel isn't for you but it was clean and clearly checked regularly.

The location of the hotel was perfect for me. Directly in the centre of Albany and overlooking the bus stop (I was travelling by bus). The hotel has a nice bar and restaurant which I used and live music which was not too loud. The room allocated was clean, comfortable and a good size for a solo traveller. Although no coffee/ tea facilities were provided in the room there was a tea/ coffee point at the end of the corridor with a kettle. Utensils etc. The bathroom facilities were shared with others on the same floor but it didn’t cause me any inconvenience when I was there.
As the accommodation is at the front of Albany it occasionally got quite noisy when freight trains were arriving or leaving the station.

The location is near the city center but not exact the center. It has all the convenience but not the noise which is great. Even though the hotel calls it the “shoe box” room but I have my own small refrigerator which is really a luxury for me. I like it.
The path way in among the rooms has cracking noise when you walk on it and I must be extra careful to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Moreover, the path way is uneven and there is one step between the rooms and the bathroom and it’s quite dangerous walking in the night.

Loved the band Friday night! Loved the location. Room, bed and bathroom were clean and fresh. It was nice to be able to open the window.
Wouldn't have liked the band so much if I was a light sleeper who needed to be asleep before 11. 🙂 Could also hear pretty much everything going on in the room beside us. Not many power points in the room: I had to unplug the fridge to plug in the fan. When I booked, I didn't see any advice about the room being upstairs.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a great dinner downstairs & a fabulous coffee next morning b4 I hit the road. The shared bathroom was spotless & the towel supplied was good quality. The bunk mattress was very comfy & I woke up refreshed.
Booked theilast room with a double bed online on the day as was too tired to drive 2 hrs home but b4 my booking could reach 6 Degrees, it was booked in person by another guest so staff kindly found me a backup room but it only had bunk beds & no TV. Found it difficult to fall asleep with another bed looming just over my head but did drop off eventually. 😊

After hours check-in option and instructions worked well – was very convenient after a long day on the road and arriving into the night. Great staff – friendly and professional. Interesting classic oldschool feel to the hotel. Room was quite basic but clean – good for a night or two. Shared facilities close by were clean and tidy. Location in the heart of Albany was great.
Not much in the way of powerpoints in the room to charge phone etc. Parking around the back wasn't the easiest to find at all, especially after dark, because you had to go quite a way around the block, and the sign for the Six Degrees car park (next to two others) was only clearly visible driving in one direction (east) on the opposite side of the road. But there was some on street parking outside the front door, and I was OK there until 11am as it's 2P parking between 9am and 6pm. Some text instructions/directions for the car park for after hours arrivals would be great, however, there was an after hours number to call if I really needed assistance.
