We stayed at a lovely hotel near a snow mountain with stunning views. Though it looks outdated, everything in the room was functional. The restaurant and café were cozy, enhancing our holiday vibe. We didn't try the busy common spa. The only downside was the noise from the neighboring room's footsteps. The price is also reasonable. Overall, a pleasant stay!

you can hear the footsteps and also the anti-slip thing that they put on the stairs, it feels kinda uncomfortable .. much better if they put carpet or something

Great property, we are a family of four with two small kids and booked the mezzanine room...the room is bigger than what it looks like in the photos. The one oil heater in the room kept both ground and mezzanine floors warm enough that we could be in t-shirts with zero degrees outside. The staff was even ready to.give us an extra heater on enquiring before booking the property. The room was immaculately cleaned and beds were made daily, super clean high quality towels and toiletries, had a working mini bar, kettle, TV, and 24/7 hot water. Jade from housekeeping is awesome, she smilingly accepted our request to vaccuum the room when she was signing off for the day. The staff at both the reception and the restaurant was super friendly, mostly young French folk. We had dinner there twice, good food and portions. Breakfast was limited to buffet even with a well-staffed kitchen, no a-la-carte, so not much value for money if you're vegetarian @28$ pp, otherwise good. Great location on the main road, walking distance from a Four Square, ski rental shops, and Schnapps bar, another good option for dining, sports bar types

So clean! Great linen and pillows. My fish and chips dinner in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was also better than expected.

The spa pool closes a bit early. I can understand why - I’m guessing rowdy pool parties in the past keeping people up? But 8 pm is just too early. The temperature isn’t hot enough either! So disappointing in a cold evening. Also it’s so exposed right next to the bar window, it would be nice if it was made a bit more private from that side. Kind of intimidating to get stripped off and in the pool when you’re only 2 metres away from a big group drinking and hanging out in the bar through the windows!

Great location, easy access to Whakapapa and surrounding walks. The room was clean with basic amenities. We dined one evening at the Restaurant, the food was yum (Pasta of the Day and Beef Burger) and although we didn't drink alcohol on this visit, could see how reasonably priced drinks were.

The rooms are on the smaller side, but given we didn't spend much time in there it was fine. The hot water was a bit inconsistent as well - couple times only warm which isn't nice in the winter months but the shower pressure was great.

The hotel had a good size restaurant, which provided for breakfast and dinner ( we paid separately for these meals). It was good to have this given the quite remote location. Bed very comfortable and has electric the winter months. There is also an electric radiator in the room.

Rooms a bit on the small size with no place to properly store the suitcases ( we had ours at the side of one of the beds). The bathroom is very small and narrow with only a small wash basin. There was nowhere to hang the towels so these had to be kept in the bedroom.

All the staff were exceptionally helpful. The evening meals in the restaurant were excellent, and the hot fires very welcoming.

The cooked buffet breakfast lacked a little cooked choices. Only beans, scrambled egg, bacon and what looked like cocktail sausages, plus toast. There were also Danish pastries, cereals and a very tasty yogurt. The two spas were nice to relax in at the end of the day, but they are dated and other than hot water the features did not work.

We really loved the family rooms - they were warm despite the cold temperatures. The hot water systems (i.e. the showers) were excellent. Finding the hotel and accessing the car park was also very easy. The restaurant (the spiral) also served very high quality food. The cost of the rooms was outstanding value for money.

The price of the buffet breakfast was a little expensive. The lack of a lift to the 2nd floor was a little problematic for the elderly member of our family.

Love the mezzanine. Enough space for two single beds which was perfect with good views to the mountains. Good amenities, toilet is a tad small but we are used to small space particularly travelling to places where real estate is premium.

Restaurant, a let down. Ordered spaghetti bolognaise for my 11 year old that looked (and tasted) like a hastily put together food from various items. Dry as paper, had to ask for ketchup that we poured in and mixed. My salmon was the worst, soggy meat even the skin, and just a handful peas and potatoes (half cooked). My wife ordered the curry supposed to be butter chicken or a substitute - green curry or something. She had chicken, but the curry was something else. Being hungry as we were (and we usually consumed all food tasty or not) we completed our meal.

plenty of beds always warm when we got back from the snow and always happy workers greeting you and have the most welcoming every time you walk in and best of all they where amazing to our kids and made our 5 year old so happy on her birthday with a special treat for her the food was outstanding and great portions for the price you pay and fast service also location is great it’s in the middle of everywhere we wanted to visit thanks too all the team we diffs coming back

Great location with friendly staff, good value for money and the rooms are clean and pleasant. Coffee was great for the area. Internet is generally good except can be slow when busy. Plenty of hot water even when busy. Pizzas are good.

No soap in the bathroom, I am no sure if that is to be expected, and I didn't ask so its possible I missed something. The restaurant dining area has too many kitchen fumes, having eaten here before about 1 year ago its still the same. It didn't seem to affect others, however I mention it because it was quite full on, clothes get that oily smell within 2 minutes of being in the restaurant.
