The location was perfect. It is situated within 10 minutes walk to Skogafoss waterfalls, and another 3-5 minutes drive to Kvernufoss Waterfall. The house exceeded my expectations. The picture was probably outdated or doesn't do its justice. It is bigger than what I anticipated. They have a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious common area. We got to see aurora on our arrival day to this place and it was magical! Truly an unforgettable experience
There is only one shower for 8 people, so you really need to plan your timing especially if you want to go out early in the morning. but they still have 2 toilets. The mirrors were only in the toilet, so it's quite hard for us to get ready. I don't think the instructions include the exact location of the property. So we had to roam around the Hotel Skogafoss area for 20 minutes to find the apartment. Luckily they have a functional emergency contact outside the door and we can call the number to ask the whereabouts of our apartment. So just find "Hotel Skogafoss Apartments" and you'll find it before the Hotel Skogafoss itself. and the wifi doesn't work as efficiently

The location is amazing. Your hotel room is a short walk from one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. The proximity allows you to enjoy the waterfall outside of peak tourist times. The breakfast buffet was delicious and included a variety of foods. The bar and bistro were very convenient, and the bistro patio was a wonderful place to enjoy a view of the falls. The hotel also has a self service coffee and tea machine available to guests. The town of Vik is a short drive away for any shopping or dining needs.
The room felt a bit dated.

Everything was great, nice location, nice room, not very spacious, but smartly done.
The food in the restaurant can improve a bit. They feed you, the portions are big, but chef can try a bit harder. Pasta was overcooked, and burger -I think they put the already ready patty into grill, a bit burnt from the top and cold at the bottom, bun was cold, would be nice to put it into oven for a minute for being a bit crunchy on the top. The flavours of the burger were great, just the final product would do with a bit of a 'love'. Soup of a day was the same for 2 days that we were there.

We chose the location near Skogafoss as the the perfect place to end our day. There were a few other properties nearby but for the price and facilities, this one worked for us. We did have a nice view of the waterfall in the distance from our room and views of the surrounding mountains as well once the skies cleared. It would have been ideal for northern lights but none on the day we stayed, The restaurant had excellent food and desserts; we really enjoyed our meals. The included breakfast was good as well, with a wide selection and some excellent skyr.
The hallway around the coffee machine was kind of dark, marking it hard to see what you are doing.

We loved the location, the proximity to the waterfall. We also loved that the Skogar museum and Kvernufoss waterfall were so close by also. We thought the bed was comfortable and enjoyed the comforters. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the Icelandic meat soup was delicious. Appreciated the free breakfast, which was good. We slept like babies and wouldn’t definitely stay again if in the area.
The walls aren’t very insulated. Hallways were loud.

Hotel has an amazing location and only for that it can be rate super high. it's just 5 mins away from Skogafoss waterfall. Room was small but big enough to have 2 suitcases around. Tea/coffee machine is in the corridor, together with a selection of tea bags. Nice touch. Big, spacious bathroom and a shower (warm water stinks with sulfur - typical for Iceland).
We found our room a bit too hot (even if outside it wasn't hot), so we kept the windows open whenever possible. Strong air freshener smell when you enter the corridor - I personally don't like these, luckily couldn't smell it inside the room. Breakfast was okay but bread selection was not great. I've tried all 3 breads available and didn;t like them, in the end was eating toast from white toast bread.

The front desk employee was very nice. The breakfast was good with different options. Our room was very close to the lobby so it was a short walk to come and go. The hot chocolate was delicious. I have no complaints with the room itself.
We paid extra for a room with a view of the waterfall. The hotel is located where you can just make out the top of the waterfall and nothing more. I felt that was a smidge misleading. The driveway was pure ice. It was not plowed and the tire tracks iced over.

Comfortable beds, close to Skogafoss Waterfall, good food at the restaurant for dinner. Great included breakfast buffet - drinks, cereals, milk, yogurt, granola and toppings, cold cuts, several breads, jams, peanut butter, butter, nutella, small assortment of warm foods like eggs.
No one was staffing the front desk/there was no signage, but we were able to ask someone at the restaurant for assistance.

Hotels in Iceland are limited but we are glad we decided to stay in this tiny town. The true drawcard here is the location literally right next door to the Skogafoss waterfall, you can just wander over and be at the waterfall in two minutes after breakfast. We visited it twice in the one day we were here, because we could. Also highly recommend the Kvernufoss walk and waterfall in the same time!
The rooms are super outdated with the decor/beige colouring, and the hot shower water smells of sulfur/egg.

Location. Folks were very friendly. Especially Eva - the lady who checked us in the hotel on June 26th, 2024. She also guided us to what we could visit in the next 24 hrs at Skogafoss. Thanks Iqbal and Anjum
Breakfast was a bit light Could add croissants. Instead on cake pastries. Was not sure if we could open the windows. Towels were a bit small in size. Despite it - the stay was lovely and exceeded everything
