Wonderfully designed with great facilities including sauna, gym and self-service luggage lockers. The bakery, restaurant and bar located within the hotel are also all fantastic, with amazing food and drink on offer. Staff were also incredibly friendly and accomodating. The location is also great, just across the road from bus stop #4, making it easy to get around on tours and to and from the airport.

The hot breakfast selection could be slightly improved, with only sausage, scrambled egg and baked beans on offer every day.

Great communication before we arrived. Location excellent , easy to walk to sites in the city and also to use bus pick up points. Good selection of food at breakfast. Bakery on site really useful for food to take out on trips. Room was well equipped, always warm and comfortable. The whole hotel is kept very clean, staff always around cleaning and tidying communal areas. Coffee machine in reception area great for a quick drink before heading out and when returning to hotel. Good selection of food in the restaurant attached to the hotel , good service and reasonably priced. This is not a luxurious hotel, it is quirky/edgy/industrial design and may not suit all tastes. However we really liked it and the Exeter does everything you need exceptionally well. Would definitely stay again.

Some areas of our room could have had a brighter light …but not really an issue.

The shower was really great as were the products to use. The beds were small but comfortable and very quiet. The conservatory is beautiful. The hotel is in a great spot near to bus stop 4 with lovely views of the harbour so close. A walk into town was not far at all. We liked the large lockers which we could leave our bags in after check out. It was convenient being able to come back and get the bags ourselves later in the day.

The twin beds were very narrow for the price of the stay, and similarly the breakfast could have been a slightly better standard for how much expensive the stay was.

. The hotel is immaculately designed and is the most stylish I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The room was also a great size and had everything, from a large comfortable double bed to a roomy bathroom, and this made relaxing in the room fun. Rather uniquely, the room included a Nespresso machine and portable speaker! . There were also other areas in the hotel lobby which were comfortable to spend some downtime in and watch the football matches. . The location of the hotel is really convenient as it’s across the road from one of the main bus stops and a few minutes walk to the main shopping streets. The beautiful harbour is also close by. . The staff were all really friendly and attentive, which we really appreciated. A special shout-out to the receptionists as they made check-in and check-out seamless. . The price for our room was quite fair, given what was included with our stay. This is especially as Reykjavik is generally pricey!

. The hotel breakfast was great but I think more hot food options or greater variety each morning would have been wonderful. . A small mirror on the dressing table should be added - this was the only thing we missed in the room.

The Exeter is a nice stay, however as we’ve visited for years we’ve watched amenities somewhat decline. The location at 101 Harbor cannot be beaten as it’s convenient to downtown, but more quiet. The breakfast is a convenient add on.

The bathroom sink was clogged and wasn’t fixed despite bringing it to the staff’s attention. Our previous stay in May had issues with the room as well. In the winter, the rooms seem extraordinarily dark and depressing. I get it’s a vibe, but a bit outdated. We’ve stayed with Exeter at least once a year when we visit Iceland and I think we will be giving another property a try next time.

We loved the location of Exeter Hotel – it was a perfect base for exploring Reyjkavik and the surrounding areas. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the food/drink amenities on-site were great. Deig served up one of the best bagels I've ever had! Also recommend the chocolate donut if you're there. The bar was really nice for drinks in the evening too; there was live music each night we were there. The decor was very tasteful too if that's your thing! Also worth noting there are easy lockers for storing luggage before/after checking in/out.

The room was a little small and our window looked out onto another building but it didn't bother us too much. There was nothing else we didn't like.

Cool looking hotel with a great bar, restaurant and bagel shop. We arrived late as had a nightmare at the airport after arriving during a storm so really appreciated the free drink token upon checking in. The barman makes great margaritas. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially after I left my T-shirt after check out and they kindly held onto it for a few days until I could come back and collect it. We only stayed for one night, but came back a few days later to try the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel and if I’m ever in Iceland again will probably back here as I know what to expect.

Super friendly staff (they managed to provide us a quick snack on the spot for an early tour, for example), good location (short walk to the center and super close to one of the bus stops for some tour pickups), environmentally friendly and the breakfast area was super cool.

Not that I didn't like but wasn't expecting to have a restaurant/bar on the entry floor and on occasions you were able to ear the drums, for example. It's not a deal breaker but on some more crowded nights it could influence a bit your stay (but this didn't impact my overall feeling of this great hotel).

We stayed for a short duration, however the property is centrally located, so it helped us cover all the touristy areas of Reykjavik. The church is a moderate walk (20+ mins) however most of the shopping streets are close by as well as the harbour. We were provided with check-in an hour earlier without charge. The hotel and rooms were also clean and the surroundings were not very noisy. The coffee shop downstairs also had very good coffee (not a surprise in Iceland).

Not a negative, but the drop off space in front of the hotel could be slightly wider, since it is right next to a traffic signal.

Nice clean hotel, enjoyed the gym and sauna. The bakery that everyone says is so good only is limited to donuts and bagels,... but the bagel sandwhiches are good ..just not a full bakery (no muffins, croissants, etc). staff was nice. I didn't try the restaurant inside, I tried to order a tea but they were out of anything caffeine free. It always seemed popular though. The heated floors and towel racks were amazing, enjoyed coffee in the room. The shampoo and soap products were fantastic I actually wish I had bought one to take home.

The room is much smaller than the photos make it appear.
