Views of Mt Cook are spectacular! An incredible hotel location and all windows have these awesome inspiring views of the snowy alps around it. I liked the new interior design and colours in the Premium twin room. I like open fires and all new interior design in the hotel. Overall done very well with beautiful design.

There are no fans to expel steam in the bathroom. It caused condensation of the windows and will cause damp issues over time. There was no way to get drinking water other than the bathroom tap next to the toilet. Could have a jug in the fridge would seem nicer. Also, there were only 6 capsules of milk for 3 people over two days and a very minimal amount of coffee etc satchets. More required really. The coffee machine was out of water and we had to sort out how to open it to have a coffee. The pillows were very hard and large and there weren’t other options and all 3 of us found them uncomfortable.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the location is perfect, the outside of the facilities is gorgeous. Food in Buffet was superb. The doc station is the best I have seen.

Very dated on the inside, which conflicts with to modern exterior. Bathroom doors are louvred and afford no protection from sounds or smells. Mattresses were the worst I have ever slept on- bouncing like a waterbed and sliding off the box Springs. Only one restaurant and one cafe were open without any notification on the website that these would be closed. And despite being a hotel that exists for the natural beauty and hikes- no spa, no sauna, no jacuzzi, no swimming pool. With the sore muscles from and physical exhaustion from doing the outdoor activities, this hotel desperately needs something of a spa at the least. Very over priced. The museum is overpriced and a joke. Should be free with as little as is there.

The view from our room as exceptional and it was very comfortable and warm. It snowed while we were there which was just magical (particularly as we are from a sunny climate) - it was great that there were still walks close by and you could move around the Hermitage to go to the restaurant etc without going outside so the snow was not an inconvenience. Although pretty expensive the buffet dinner was impressive and the restaurant has a great outlook too. All the staff were friendly and helpful and there was an atmosphere of welcoming and class across the board.

Polite and friendly staff. Room was comfortable with great view, but nothing much more than a standard room in terms of fittings etc… paid for the view, when that disappeared with the clouds, it’s an ok room (superior queen room).

The nature of location and having paid a bit more for the higher ranked room, I expected a bit less noise, but kids running around 11.30pm in the corridor yelling reflects more on parenting than the hotel. Length of time quoted to refund a cancelled booking due to weather was also a bit sniffy (10 days+ for overseas account) considering it took seconds for the funds to be extracted from my account when booking.

The staff are magnificent.Platinum service and a genuine professionalism that reflects so well the obviously high standards of the Hermitage Hotel Mt Cook management. My family and I unfortunately got caught in the snow at night in our car and with the temperature dropping fast my concern for the kids grew even faster. After calling the hotel reception a staff member was with us in minutes and got us safely back to the hotel.Early the next morning another two staff drove to the car to dig it out of the snow for us.Simply cant express enough the appreciation my family and I have for everything that the staff members did for us with no complaints and a reassurance that they had it under control.I will not use the names of those wonderful employees as I don't have permission from them to do so but I hope they know that we will remember not only the names but also how much they did to help us out of tight spot with grace and utter professionalism.I work in hospitality in administration and I can honestly say that I'd be lucky to have such dedicated and motivated staff working for our business.

Aoraki/Mt Cook is a super special place and this trip did not disappoint. The Hermitage is a busy place once again with tourism getting back on track since Covid. Most incredible views from our rooms. Great selection of food at the buffet.

If you need a table for dinner inquire at the restaurant counter not the front of house desk who told us the tables were all full. Wasn't overly happy about paying the $120 each way for a 7 minute shuttle when we were already spending $1500 on accommodation and food. Most people wouldn't need this service but we flew in a private plane and had no other options except walking with all our luggage. Last time we made the trip we didn't pay for the shuttle but it was just after the first covid lockdown so I guess they were happy to accommodate.

The view from the room was breathtaking. Staff was nice and helpful. Food in restaurant was delicious. Easy and convinient free parking. Rooms are very tidy, nice, modern.

1) Restaurant furniture (chairs) was absolutely filthy. It just needs a good clean. 2) Hotel has to consider pillows replacement. Pillows in room are terrible! I ended up sleeping on decorative pillows. I am not sure who sleeps on such huge hard pillows. 3) I enjoyed food in restaurant, but for people who don't eat meat, dinner becomes overpriced. Perhaps hotel should consider room service or bar with better selection of food

We stayed in the premium king room and it lived up the expectation. Was super comfortable and modern. Very clean. The view was just like the photos if not better. The room had good features like - lights that come on when you need to get up in the night so you can see where you are going, charging ports right beside the bed, heaps of room for your luggage.

The buffet dinner and breakfast. I prefer dining off a menu over a buffet and you don’t really have any other option. We got into the other restaurant for one night and it was sensational but you need to book well in advance.

Updated rooms nicely appointed. Great location. A good base for walks.

The Hermitage could be so much more. On two days during our stay we had rain and snow and it was cold, yet there were no fires lit! No access to bar area and light snacks until 4pm when the very average cafe was closed. If you are paying big money to stay in such a resort, and we were, you expect lovely areas to relax in and buy some nice drinks and light snacks especially when the weather is so bad that you cannot go out. It did not live up my expectations.

The location is very near to the trailheads. (Actually, there are not many hotels in the national park haha) The cafetaria is good and with a lot of declious food, e.g. meat pies! It is very sad that it is not open in the night. The views from every corner in the hotel is awesome! Very spectaluar! Total recommend it!

I got the room in the rear building, the first one next to the elevator, at 5th floor. In the room, I can hear some voice in the hallway as many people need to take elevator. And the view looking out from the room at 5th floor is half blocked by the front building. It is really a little pity.
