The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, the location is a bit away from the town so it was very quiet and serene. The view was breathtaking and the food was homey and delicious. There were some bugs in/around of some rooms (we were a larger group, total of seven), but not because it wasn't clean, but because it's up in the mountains. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed. The grounds are so nice you can spend the whole day just resting at the farmstay. They also offer workshops like batik and bracelet making. The bracelet making was something nice and low key to do as a group. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have a quiet time in Sa Pa.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, but a heads up for others - the farmstay is outside of the busy downtown area of Sa Pa so we had to arrange a transport to go back and forth into town (which is easily done through the hosts). The ride cost about 200,000-300,000 VND per one way depending on time of day, for a 7 seater van. There are also some steep stairs to the rooms for those with accessibility concerns.

A welcoming and helpful family. Chee Mee was always at hand to ensure our stay was comfortable. Dinner and breakfasts were tasty and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable

In general we thought value for money was poor. The price for the room, the dinner €7 per person for vietnam was the most expensive we experienced. 50€ per person for a walking tour through the villages we also thought was a bit steep

This place is paradise on earth and the wonderful family who run it are some of the kindest people I have ever been lucky enough to meet. They welcomed us with open arms and were amazing with our kids. The views are absolutely stunning and it is a wonderful place to rest and recharge. The family arrange great treks and tours and we also did batik painting and bracelet making at the farm stay with the kids which we loved. It is such an authentic and special experience and beat being in a hotel by a mile. And to top off a truly special stay that is one of our life highlights of travelling, the lovely family who runs it gives money back to the community, helping people around them. Truly such a wonderful stay that we will never forget, can't wait to go back there! If you have the chance to book this place don't hesitate, it was such a privilege to be here in such beautiful surroundings with a wonderful family!

Nothing not to like, wonderful place and family!

We had a wonderful time at Chapa Farmstay Mountain Retreat. The lovely family owning the place was very friendly, open-minded and care-taking. We stayed at the family bungalow for four nights. Both of the rooms were clean, very cozy and decorated with lovely details. Every day the rooms were cleaned, the beds made and we were provided with fresh towels. The view from our terrace was spectacular and the whole area of the Farmstay is just beautiful. You can wonder around, explore the gardens, hang out in various chill out areas and observe the surrounding nature. (So be aware - there will be some bugs and spiders around, even visiting your bungalow, but hey, that’s nature.) We also wanted to mention the delicious food. We ended up having the freshly home made dinner at the Farmstay every single day because it was so good! So overall, we definitely would recommend to come here and soak in the atmosphere of this peaceful place. Cảm ơn rất nhiều ❤️

We got nothing to complain ☺️

Amazing place to stay! Positioned down in the stunning valley woth incredible views (espechally from the restaurant in the main building where you have breakfast and dinner). The bungalows were built by the owner and are finished to a great standard with really comfortable beds and a great shower (which after a long day trekking are much needed). The room balconies that face down the valley are amazing and are great for morning yoga if that is what you are into. The whole family are lovely and couldn't have been more accommodating, they are genuinely lovely people. The home cooked dinner and breakfast they cooked was delisious and the home made happy water was the best in the area. I would highly recommend this place for anyone planning on staying in Sapa. It is far better than staying in Sapa town that is quite touristy.

Nothing, it was great

This hotel is in a really beautiful setting with an incredible garden area to enjoy. The rooms are gigantic with stunning views and they have so many beautiful places set up to sit and journal or relax on the property. The food was also really delicious. It’s a set menu and we were hesitant but we got one meat and one veg option and we had a large array of delicious dishes to try. Definitely do dinner here. There’s a beautiful walk you can do from the hotel into two villages. Quiet and lovely. We stayed in 3 different hotels and areas in Chapa and this is definitely one of the most quiet and beautiful. It’s def more expensive than a lot of options but if you’re looking for a quite beautiful setting it’s probably worth it. They also donate proceeds to local villages in need which I didn’t know before booking and appreciate.

A hand drawn map for the self guided walk would be really helpful. We went off track a couple times because our phones didn’t work that well here. Guides are pricey here. We didn’t use one but the donations to area villages made me feel better about the higher prices here.

What a dream to stay here. We booked for two days, and ended up staying for a week. The views from the balcony are breathtaking the farm is a lush area with butterflies flying around and the surrounding area is so peaceful. We stayed here instead of Sapa and were super happy we did. Great base for hikes, there is a 1.5h loop you can do by yourself that gives you gorgeous views on the rolling mountains and rice fields, but I really recommend booking a two-day hike with the homestay. We were recommended one that was off the beaten paths and we hardly saw any tourists and had the homestay, that was located in a beautiful secluded area filled with waterfalls and mountain views, to ourselves. The family and the lovely dogs and cats were very welcoming and accommodating. Food was great. Could not recommend this place enough.

Everything was great

Lovely and welcoming family/hosts who were very accommodating. Cozy bungalows that had sensational views, and very quiet and peaceful. Very comfy bed. Close to many trekking tracks, highly recommend arranging a trek through Chapa. Location was perfect for us as we wanted to be away for the hustle and bustle of Sapa town, we walked from Sapa to the accommodation one day, about a 5.5km walk with lots of photo opportunities- taxis easily arranged if you want to go there. We ate at the accomodation restaurant - traditional meals which were delicious. No wifi available - perfect to escape and tune out. Mobile phone will work on network if you need contact with the outside world.

No shops close by, take some snacks with you if that’s what you like.

Chapa Farmstay was an awesome experience! We came to see an authentic northern vietnamise lifestyle and the mountain views and that's what we got and much more! The family is super friendly, helpful and kind. We felt very welcome from the very beginning. Bungalows are so cozy and cool (and clean). Bed was really good to sleep. Best were the views! It was very cold when we arrived and we were a bit worried because the bungalow was really chilly. But they gave us immediately an extra blanket and a heater so we did not have to worry about the weather and the bungalow was quickly warm and cozy for us to stay <3 And we always got the hot water on the shower. They arranged us a guided hiking tour. It was a bit expensive but they give 35% from the credit for the local kids education, so we happily paid for that. And the experience was great! The host also gave us a tip for a beautiful two-hour hike route nearby which we could do on our own, and it was awesome to see local life and rice paddies. AND THE MOUNTAIN VIEWS!! They have their own restaurant and they can take care of your laundry. So there's pretty much everything you'll need! There's also a fridge were you can buy some beverages. Foods and especially dinners were so delicious! They arranged us a transportation from Sapa Town when we came and ride back when we left. Chapa Farmstay is not just an accommodation, it's an experience. We totally recommend!

The location is quite isolated, so you have to take a taxi if you want to visit for example Sapa Town. But we did not want to :D There's also no shops or marts nearby, so it's not so simple to get some snacks or something. But you can buy beverages from the Farmstay: water bottles (0,5$), beer (1,5-2$) or soft drinks (1$). There's also not many restaurants nearby, but we recommend to eat on the Farmstay. Prices are bit high, but it's worth it! We were happy to support the family and the community.

What a beautiful hidden gem - I am delighted we found Chapa Farm stay. A few kilometres outside of Sapa (outside of the touristy, busy streets), nestled amongst rice fields, and staying with a Mhong family who employ Mhong people... Not only did we love the beauty of this farmstay, but we were delighted we were supporting local people (many hotels and tour companies in Sapa use the names of the local people but are owned by people in the cities, not helping the local communities). Lee speaks amazing English and was so helpful in helping us organise transfers, trekking (right from the door of the farmstay, we did this as a family of 5, including a 5 year old, and would highly recommend it), and a tour. The views from the farmstay are stunning, the rooms of a very good quality (the 2 connecting rooms worked well for us as a family of 5). We also found the food delicious. A real place of peace and tranquility, but a short taxi ride away if you do want to experience Sapa town. We felt honoured to spend time with Lee and her family and we would definitely recommend you stay here.
